Well, I bought a double bass pedal today. I had the choice between a heavy, great quality, expensive, made for gigs Pearl, OR a cheaper one, very good quality which is called Stagg and which is better for practice. Since I'm new to this I chose that one, and it;s great :biggrin

So here it is:

Cool pedals Anne . I myself do not own a drum set , I know how to drums play a fair bit, but I only have had the chance to use on foot pedal . I've only had a single pedal when I've played , never a double .

The way it's is going with getting me a bari sax , I might just get a drum set and take lessons . No place has one of those bad boys yet .

Umm... I played the piano from the ages of about 5 - 12 (actually having lessons) I still play when at my Dad's place - I don't own a piano! I have played the clarinet, recorder...

And drums. Man I loved drumming. Then when I moved into the flat I live in now, I had to sell 'em. (Let's put it this way, nobody in the block would have been very happy with me playing 'em!) *sighs* (Thankfully however my brother is a drummer so whenever I go back upcountry to visit, I get to have a little play!)

So, since I can't drum anymore, I am about to start learning to play the guitar. *G* I'm terrible, I'm such a whore for learning instruments, but music is something that tends to work for me :)

I have a friend who lives in New York City who plays drums. He said that he actually had to rent a room in an office building just to go practice in, because his neighbors didn't allow it.

That's awesome that you like try out new instruments. Rock on!

I can only play one instrument, but I can say that I play it pretty well if I do say so myself. I'm not the best in the world by any means. I've started when I was 15 (which is considered late), so I've been playing for almost 10 years now. I can say that even after 10 years I still LOVE it. I play professionally, and I just love and adore my job. Whenever I sit down to play sometimes I feel as if it were the first time. I also love the versatility of it, and it's a guy magnet so that's another added bonus.
It's also taken to me to some really cool places.
Speaking of music, I think I'm going to go practice soon. :)

Hmmm I was tempted to hire out a room where I could play - but it's just so so expensive here there was just no way on earth I could do it!

And yeah, I'm a total whore for wanting to learn new instruments and different ways to play music, I love it so much!

I'm so impressed that you can have music as your job :) If I could work doing anything it would be either painting, or playing music (aw hell maybe writing if possible!) What is it that you play then?
