Yeah, it's hard...

What I always think is pretty funny is that people are always surprised that I can sing along to songs I'm playing on guitar, also if they're pretty quick :D They go: "How can you freaking do that?" And I'm like: "Huh, what? Oh that, it's nothing special" :P

I think my vocal range is pretty similar to that of Jaqueline Govaert from Krezip (and yes, I like Krezip LOL)
But I'm training my voice, since I discovered what to do. I'm not overdoing my voice though, I just go higher and higher in small steps, which work very well :)
I remember I always sung way too soft, and one day (I was practising for school musical auditions) my voice kinda "broke" and I sung louder, I was like "w00t  :o ". (I came through the auditions, but I quit...)

Is it possible to train your voice yourself, then? (since people often don't hear when they sing false, that's of course commen knowledge :P ) How do you do that? I'd like to get better at singing, 'cause I simply love it :)

Why did you quit?

Well, I try and try, and then record, to hear what I do wrong.

I quit because I had too much homework... And I didn't feel involvolved in the whole practising stuff, I was always alone.

Mheh, if had lived closer together I would be happy to take vocal lessons with you ^_ ^

Yeah, I record stuff too and when I hear where I go wrong, I try it again, but it's hard because I never have any clue what note I sing; I just try to sing it as high or low as the original person sings it, and if I really can't do it, I sing higher or lower. You know, you've got adjust it at times...or atleast I do :P

Yeah, that would be fun :P

You're not the only one who adjusts sometimes. I did that too. Weird thing is, most of the time I hear when I miss a note (luckily for the neighbours LOL)

Oh, yeah, of course I hear that too. Otherwise, we'd be tone deaf

I'm learning Iron Maiden's Dream Of Mirrors now. I tried to sing it, and when my voice was warmed up I could sing the high parts too  :o

Like wtf, normally I can't go higher than a B and my falsetto is very soft... And now the high notes are easier and most of all: louder! I was stunned
But happy  :)

I had that too with songs from The Phantom of the Opera, which is close to sing opera-like. The only thing is, though, that I can't reach as high as the role of Christine, 'cause she is a soprano and can't sing as low as the Phantom because he is a man and sings too low for me. I don't know that much about singing, but I can handle some stuff, when my voice allows it :P

Songs from The Phantom Of The Opera are hard to sing but yet very fun to sing :D You just have to adjust the song to your voice. :)

Metallica - The Prince

At first I thought the song was nothing special. Well the solo was insane, but that was it. But now in the last month it has grown a lot on me. Cool riffs. I'm learning it now (solo will be impossible, fucking fast). The vocals are pretty insane too. James is barking his ass off on that song.

yeah, the verse is a little bit complicated at first...

Yeah, I have that too.
But I'll practise it slow, then faster 'n' faster :D

(And I'm again confronted with the fact that I still don't have an electric guitar... dammit...)

Ehm...
Keyboard for 7.5 years (4years lessons, didn;t learn anything cool... I'm still bad at it  ), guitar for 3.5 years (1 year lessons), and bass for 3 years (2 years lessons).
My parents are gonna think if they let me and Chris (my bro, Motorsmurf here :P ) follow drum lessons.

(That was all LOL)
