Where the Wild Things Are
i only have the reload drum book for now. i ordered the black album one off of the met store so i hope that comes in by the end of the month.

You don't learn drum parts by ear?

i do. it's just easier with the sheet music cuz i don't know the toms that good. i can get everything else. i can play Nothing Else Matters and i dont' have the music to that but there's only a couple parts that i'm not sure which toms he's using.

But does it really matter?
If it sounds good to you it should be fine! :)

I´ve been playing a couple of songs, learning them better.. Whiskey in the jar, Fear of the dark and tears dont fall.
I actually tried to play Cemetery Gates, the heavy intro a bit into the song.... :)

sorry to interrupt but I drum too so...

well yeah it kinda matters cause the toms have a sound of their own that just needs to fit..I mean, that is what it is to me and I aske dmy drumteacher..I thinks that too.
So it doesn;t really matter but it's just a little better, you know??

Don't worry, I'm not ignorant to the drums. I've played em for 3(4 in 2007) years and I've never used a drum book or some other shit. Of course the toms sound different but you gotta go through them all to catch the right sound. It's the same with guitar, every fret and string has a different sound and you gotta go through them all by ear to make the right sound.

Yeah DUH, but you can tune your toms in all kinds of tunings.
So if you don't have the same tunings as Lars you're still fucked.

yeajh duh in that you are right, but like I think that Crissy meant or what at least I meant was that if you can't HEAR what tom you need to use it is better to use sheet music indeed cause let's say he hits the little tom but you think you hear the big tom, and you hit it and play it without lars drumming with you it sounds not as good, you know? but never mind I just wanted to explain you were right in that view but now you know mine :P sorry if this post was disturbing to anyone..
