Metallica - For Whom The Bell Tolls
Metallica - Master Of Puppets
Megadeth - Lucretia

They're all really fun, but the latter two are completely impossible.

edit: on guitar.
The thing with MOP is that you have to REALLY get your alternative picking juuuust right or else it feels completely off tempo. I still have that problem. With some metronome practice and a some left hand exercises you should be playing it in no time. :D :horns2
I have to admit, I don't even know what alternative picking is.

It's a simple up down pattern with the pick. The word alternative throws people off sometimes.

Also, if you need help with rhythms and such and don't have any idea what an eight or a quarter note is... I know this website from Music Theory class that might help. You basically read the chapter and answer little questions at the end. Very simple and it helps! :D

http://john.steffa.net/IntroToTheory/chapter4/ch4page1.htm

These should help anyone learning anything musical, the rest of the chapters are boring music theory topics like Modes, Intervals, and Scales and such.

Elisabeth, thanks so much for the links! I'm actually a longtime musician (tuba player between 2001-06 and guitarist from 1999-02 and 2011-present) but those links will prove very useful on this thread! :)

I wish this thread were called "Now having your ass kicked by" rather than "Now learning" -- I'd feel more justified to post Megadeth's "Chosen Ones" in here

Nothing Else Matters for Cello :biggrin
(I'm doing this by ear btw...)

*EDIT* AND this one really wicked cello solo from Suzuki book 6 called "Tarantella". It's SO cool/fun to play, yet WICKED HARD!!! I practiced it for 4 hours today and I JUST GOT IT today  :biggrin LOVE this piece! I guess I have a soft spot for the composer though (William Henry Squire) because he has written some pretty sick cello solos.
