Holy shit! It's all doing down now! I'm glad that Bridget has an out from Simon but I hope that the scandal doesnt destroy her. I loved your decription of the tea set. I really want some tea right now. And gooseberry tarts. The very thought of Dave drinking tea and eating tarts Wow.I love the contrast between Sean being very 18th century and Dave being present. I liked it when randomly Dave was thinking that he would have kicked Simon's ass. It was a nice touch, and it reminded me that Dave is from modern times. |

Ok.... So they'll going to cancel this marriage... I can't wait to see that! I only hope that anything bad won't happen to Bridget in the time that the journey to Turku will take them...(I don't have anything against homosexual people, but Simon is really disgusting, especially with his liking to 'young flesh' ...) great update!

Chapter 117 "Reverand Holmgren, why do you wish to speak with us?", asked Lachlan. The Reverand bowed his head, a slight smile on his lips. "I must speak to you and Herr Bergstrom regarding the marriage of your children, Simon and Bridget", he said politely. "What is the matter? The papers were all in order, the fees were paid and the banns were posted, everything. What is going on?", demanded Thor Bergstrom. He was a bluff, hearty man in his fifties, almost bear-like in appearance. Like his partner, he still retained the aura of a ship's captain, not an aristocrat. The Reverand saw the women and children, smiling gently at them. "Ladies, this is a very serious topic we are about to discurss. It is not appropriate for children. Please take the children out of the room", he said. "Why?", asked Annaly. "Annaly, do what the Reverand says. He is still a man of God, even though he is of the new church", said Daniel, as he led the women and children out of the room. "So what do you need to tell us, Reverand?", asked Lachlan, as the men all sat down. He took a deep breath, a thoughtful look in his hazel eyes. "Herr Mackenzie, Herr Bergstrom, this is not going to be easy to say. You see, Herr Bergstrom, your son is a sodomite", he said quietly. Thor's face grew pale, then turned red with rage. He growled, grabbing the Reverand by the collar. "How dare you say that? I would kill you for saying that, you liar. My son is a handsome, virile man", he spat, shoving him away. The Reverand got to his feet, straightening his collar. "Herr Bergstrom, I am not lying. Sean Mackenzie and Herr Mustaine came to my house earlier today. Sean told me everything, that he saw your son and his bodyguard naked and embracing like a man would do with a woman. And your son made overtures to Sean", he replied calmly. Lachlan was absolutely stunned. I married my daughter to a sodomite?, he thought in a daze. Suddenly, he felt ill. My poor daughter, he mused, tears filling his eyes. Thor had slumped into a chair, his mouth flopping open like a fish's. "By the gods, my son is a sodomite. Unbelievable. Lachlan, I had no idea. Simon always appeared to be popular with the ladies, I had no idea. When I get my hands on him, I will kill the both of them, he is no son of mine", he growled. Dave watched the exchange with mixed feelings. On the one hand, he was glad to see Simon get in trouble. On the other hand, he felt it wasn't Simon's fault he was gay. If he'd been born in the 20th century, none of this shit would've happened. But hopefully the marriage will be annulled, he prayed. "I shall have to tell the local magistrate. The marriage shall have to be annulled", said Lachlan. "But we gotta tell them, they're all the way in Finlad", said Cliff, finally speaking up. "Someone shall have to go to Finland to deliver the news and bring Bridget back. As for Simon, I no longer want anything to do with him", growled Thor. "I'll go", volunteered Dave. "Me too. I speak Danish and okay Swedish, it might come in handy", said Lars. "I shall go as well. Bridget is my sister", said Sean. "Good, and my brother Leif will go along for protection. Also, take Mistress Tarja with you, she is a Finn, and knows the language. I know not of which church she is, but she is a goodly woman", said the Reverand. "We must hurry, though, before the first snows. You will go overland to Oslo, from there you sail to Copenhagen. However, you will have to travel to Stockholm on foot, the Swedish government does not let our ships go that far. From there, you sail to Turku. Good luck, gentlemen", said Lachlan. |

*G* So the shit is really hitting the fan now huh? That was superb - you wrote Thor's reaction so so well, I could picture it all as it happend! He was a bluff, hearty man in his fifties, almost bear-like in appearance. I thought that that was a marvellous description, just that one sentence brought the image of the guy straight to my mind! |

Awesome chapter!! I loved how Annaly question "why" when they wanted her out of the room. I would have done that as a kid. I soooo can't wait to find out how Bridget is going to react. I wonder what will happen to her baby though. What if Simon still wants it? Eek!!! You do tell a great story and I'm dying to read more.

Chapter 118 One week later, the group was ready for their journey. "Remember, you must present the papers to Herr Bergstrom. I pray she is not with child", said the Reverand. "Lars, be very careful. We shall miss you greatly", said Violet, embracing her husband. "I'll be careful, Violet and Beatrice, you're gonna be a big girl when Daddy comes home", he chuckled. Beatrice giggled at her father, her green eyes sparkling. "I hope Simon and has not hurt my sister, or else I will kill him", growled Sean. "Me too. If he does, I'm gonna kick his ass real hard", muttered Dave. "It is so far, I have never been so far from home before", said Leif, his eyes wide. "After all these years, I am going back to Finland. I wonder if my family is still there", Tarja mused aloud. "All right, let's roll", said Lars, as they mounted their horses and rode off. "So we have to cross the mountains to get to Oslo?" I hope the horses make it", grumbled Dave, looking up at the mountain range. "Yeah Mustaine, you ever seen a map of Norway before? The snow wont' fall until November or December, so we're good. We just gotta be careful with the horses", said Lars. Dave watched enviously as the others sat easily in the saddle, while he was already feeling the effects. My butt's sore already, and now we gotta go over the mountains. My ass hurts just thinking about it, he scowled. "Dave, I was the same way too when I first rode a horse. Don't worry, in a few days, you'll feel nothing. Look at Leif, he's barely been on a horse much either, you don't see him complaining", said Lars. He was right; Leif was obviously awkward, but he didn't show it. He sat straight on the little brown mare, gently urging it forward. If Junior has no problem with the horse, I can't be complaining like a baby. Even Tarja has no problem. Look sharp, Mustaine, he reminded himself. The little party slowly trekked across the mountains, through narrow passes between the mountains. The sides of the mountains were green at this time of year, flowering with grasses, moss, and wildflowers. Jagged black rocks poked out from under the green, like strips of ragged carpet ripped from a floor. Wow, this is wilder than Yosemite, some scenery, he mused. "I know, Dave. Usually I do not linger, but 'tis impressive. I have crossed the mountains on numerous occasions on the way to Oslo, and 'tis nothing. Just be careful", said Sean. Dave nodded, still impressed. Up ahead was a small glacier, the white mass startling against the green and black of the rest of the mountain. I hope that doesn't come downhill and crush us. Do glaciers even move?, he wondered. "Herr Mustaine, these are the biggest mountains I have ever seen", murmured Leif. "I know. And call me Dave, Junior. Herr Mustaine makes me sound old", he cracked. |

I like the thought of Dave and Lars going through the mountains. It's nice to see Lars and Dave getting a long. Going back in time has made their lives a bit better. But Bridget is with child, so I wonder what they're going to do about that. A drats! I have to wait for another update of this badass epic. |

Chapter 119 That evening, the party arrived at a farmstead in a valley. They had crossed well into the mountains and were now approximately ten to fifteen miles into the range. "Finally, people. This is the first house I've seen since this morning", grumbled Dave. "This is the homestead of the Nygren family. Whenever Father and I travel to Oslo, we stay with them. They shall welcome us, but behave yourselves", said Sean, dismounting his horse and walking up to the door. He knocked on the door, and it opened. Standing on the threshold was a plump middle aged woman in a blue dress, an apron tied around her middle. Graying blond hair was concealed by a kerchief, her feet in wooden shoes. Her face lit up when she saw Sean. "God kveld, Herr Mackenzie. Do you need lodgings for the night?", she asked. "Ja, Fru Nygren. My companions and I need lodgings for the night", he said. Mrs. Nygren saw the riders and smiled welcomingly at them. "Arsak, onkyer. Come, I am preparing supper", she said. After they had led the the horses to the barn, the group entered the house. It was a simple, yet cozy wooden farmhouse. The largest room was the enormous parlor/dining room, dominated by the fireplace. A worn sofat covered in brown fabric was set away from the fire, the warmth a pleasant contrast to the chill in the air. Mrs. Nygren went back to the kitchen, checking on the food. "Ja, the stew is coming along nicely. May I get you drinks? And what is your business, I may ask?", she asked. "Fru Nygren, we are on our way to Finland to see my sister", replied, not wanting to disgust her. "Ja, that is far", she said, handing them each a glass of milk. Dave looked into his cup, puzzled. She gave us milk, I haven't drunk milk in a cup since I was a kid. I bet it came straight from the cow, he mused, taking a cautious sip. "Fru Nygren, this is Lars Ulrich, Dave Mustaine, Leif Holmgren, and Tarja Vesala, my companions", said Sean. "Very glad to meet you all. My husband and sons shall be coming home soon, they are in the fields. You may all have to sleep in the attic", she said apologetically. Sean smiled at her. "We do not mind, Fru Nygren. It is much better than being out of doors", he replied graciously. "Yeah, we've stayed in worse, trust me", said Lars. "Of course, Ulrich", chuckled Dave. Just then, the door opened and a group of men entered the the parlor. A tall, stout man was followed by four equally large young men, all with shoulder length blond hair and blue eyes. "God kvelden, Sigrid. Who are our guests?", asked the older man. "Anders, these are Herr Mackenzie and his companions. They are on their way to Finland to see his sister", said Mrs. Nygren. "Ja, very nice to see you gentlemen, miss. We are all hungry, Sigrid", said Anders. "I know, dinner shall be ready soon", she said, going to the kitchen. |

Man I'm glad that they've run into friendly folk to take them in on this trek. I love little details like the fact that Dave hasn't had milk in a cup since he was little. that's just great, because it adds a lot to a character all these little bits. Rocking. Something else that always strikes me is how you get descriptions of locations into it when they are going somewhere new, it really makes it all come to life. |

I liked that chapter Vanessa! I know this is random, but I loved Dave's thoughts about the milk. It made me laugh, the thought of Dave Mustaine drinking milk. Damn. I haven't had milk since I was a little kid either. I always hated the taste of it, and so did my mom so she never forced down me, which is probably why I never grew very tall. Anyway, good chapter. I like how they're are little tidbits in this story that I can relate to, like the milk. It rounds it out and makes it very rich in detail. |

Thanks guys Ashley, I don't drink milk either, never liked it. I always thought it was weird when on sitcoms, the kids would drink milk for dinner. I didn't know anyone who drank milk for dinner, everyone I knew drank soda or fruit punch Ironically, I love to eat other dairy products: cheese, yogurt, ice cream, sour cream. I've never drunk milk unpasturized, but I heard it's actually not that bad, dairy cows aren't diseased anymore.Chapter 120 Johannes preened before the mirror, gazing at his reflection. He was dressed in tight black breeches and a white, buttoned-down shirt. Over the shirt was an embroidered waistcoat in deep ruby red and sapphire blue, tiny glass beads catching the light. His dark brown hair fell in shining waves to his shoulders, his green eyes dancing with delight. I look like a real gentleman. I wish Mama could see, he thought proudly. Johannes took one last look in the mirror, before leaving the room. He made his way to Simon's chamber, his heart racing with excitement. Simon was already waiting for him. He was clad in a green silk robe and matching trousers, his hair neatly combed and parted to the side. His eyes lit up with pleasure when he saw the younger man. He is very handsome, he will do nicely, he mused, a smile forming on his lips. "The outfit suits you, Johannes. I may call you that, right? After all, I am the master", he murmured, arching an eyebrow. "Yes, yes, Herra Bergstrom", he stammered. "My dear boy, you do not have to be so flustered. You are just a country boy, but I shall make a proper gentleman of you yet", he whispered, leading him inside. Vagn was already there, standing at attention. In contrast to Simon's prettiness, he was a hard, rough-looking man. He was over six feet tall and muscular, dark brown hair framing a strong, harsh face. He said nothing, his blue eyes gazing dispassionately at them. "This is my bodyguard, Vagn. He is also your master, and you obey him as well. Agreed?", he asked smoothly. Johannes nodded. "Yes, Herra Bergstrom", he replied. "Good. You have very good manners for a peasant lad. Where did you get your looks? You do not look like a peasant", said Simon. "My father, Saku Valo, he is an actor. He is currently traveling with his troupe, the Teatteri Englannkielnen a Suomalainen. They specialize in plays by Master Shakespeare. My father has played Hamlet", he boasted. "Interesting. So you are not a mere peasant lad, good. This shall be interesting. Johannes, whatever transpires here, tell no one. It would shame your mother. You do want your mother proud of you, right, Johannes?", he purred. Johannes nodded, his eyes wide. What does he mean by that? I am going to be his valet, it is not like we are doing anything immoral,, he mused, puzzled. "Good boy, Johannes. Just remember, if you are a good boy, you will be rewarded. If you are a bad boy, you will be punished. Understand?", asked Simon. "Yes, Herra Bergstrom", he replied. "Good", he murmured, kissing the startled boy on the lips... |

Poor Johannes. Simon is a dirty toad for taking advantage of him like that. I liked the background info on Johannes Dad being a Shakespearian actor. My husband's friend does Shakespeare plays. Simon is such a creep. I hope that he gets what he deserves. And I'm glad that I'm not the only one that doesn't like milk. I like milkshakes, and that strawberry Quick stuff, and kahlua and milk but I guess that doesn't count. My friend drinks this muscle milk stuff (her boyfriend has her into weight lifting)and it's so putrid and gross. She would drink it every night before bed. Yuck!!
