Yeah, but for this year, what song is it you would choose?

I'm not into any of those bands.
I don't really care either.

The show will honor musical achievement of the 2007 recording year which are albums and singles released between October 1, 2006 through September 30, 2007.

Also, what do you think Megadeth should be nominated for?

Best metal performance?

They may not have been the best...but if you see what kind of crap wins a Grammy, then I think Megadeth deserves one this time. Megadeth have been nominated multiple times and never actually won one. Dave should be paid homage for his hard work over the years.

It's also not fair that Metallica wins everytime. Of course, I feel they deserved most of them, but some nominations for Metallica have been pretty ridiculous. Megadeth even lost to Metallica with Stone Cold Crazy....a cover for christ sake!
Yes, I like that cover song...but it is kinda twisted.

Actually, I agree with you. I was hoping Megadeth would be nominated this year but I was relly surprised when I didn't see them on the list. It seems like they are giving preference to Metallica the same way they gave to Jethro Tool in 89.
But that's just me...

Oh I thought you meant from the list that you posted.
Well seeing as they mostly pick singles then I guess it should be Never Walk Alone.

The winners were annouced and Metallica

Didn't won.

The winner for Best Rock Instrumental Performance was Bruce Springsteen with Once Upon A Time In The West from "We all love Ennio Morricone" (the same cd the Metallica track came from).

Plus, Slayer won =)

Best Metal Performance
(For solo, duo, group or collaborative performances, with vocals. Singles or Tracks only.)

Final Six
Slayer
Track from: Christ Illusion
[American Recording/Columbia]

I'm glad it wasn't As I Lay Dying or whatever, those emo pussies. :angry

Go Slayer!!! :D :D :D

(Sorry, I love Slayer guys... lol *runs and hides*)

Although Shadows Fall, I would have been happy if they won. Redemption is a great song. And they're awesome guys too.

But yeah. A lot of albums that were great weren't nominated. Killswitch didn't get a nod - which was surprising, they got one for "The End of Heartache". Ozzy's album was really good, he didn't win. I was surprised Saliva wasn't nominated for anything, especially with "Ladies and Gentlemen" being used for 2342352 ads now. What else? Foo Fighters are not hard rock, therefore they shouldn't have won that Grammy. And Amy Winehouse winning all that shit?!?? Way to award a cracked out coke whore, guys. :angry

Well since when are the Grammies still about music?
Today it's just that the most popular artist wins. It's all about money.

Uhhh, Herbie Hancock won Album of the Year. 'Nuff said. Whenever a jazz legend can beat out Kanye West, Amy Winehouse and Foo Fighters, there just might still be some hope.
