My first attempt at (hopefully) starting an enjoyable thread. The task is very easy: which particular bits of Metallica's songs make you bang your head/close your eyes/make you sing, etc.? One of my favourite moments is this part of ESCAPE in which the music slows down a bit and James sings "See them try to bring the hammer down..." I love the way the guitar/vocals sound on it. A perfect bit in the history of music. That's a fucking great song anyway! |

Firstly, I feel like going to never never land while listening to Master of Puppets slow solo...(I close my eyes and focus on every single riff I hear) And song that always makes me sing is "dyer's eve" ![]() I always bang hy head when I listen to (I think it's not a surprise) "whiskey in the jar" :horns2I can't think of any partucular moments that make me feel ecstatic Just whole songs

There are a lot!!!! - Of Wolf and man: the part where all this is said: I feel a change back to a better day hair stands on the back of my neck in wildness is the preservation of the world so seek the wolf in thyself that just rocks my socks!!! - Eye of the beholder: Just the start of the main solo...like min 4:50 - Also the part of DIE! DIE! DIE! In creeping death...it just reminds me of the gig in vienna. - The end of Astronomy - Am I evil? Yes I fuckin aaaaaaaaaaam - We never stop, we never will, cause we're metallicaaaaaaa - Jump in the fire: the intro, where the drums start with the beat, so you can just start to dance - Bleeding me: The intro and its sexyness - Orion: Kirk's solo , min 6:19 - Fight fire with fire: We all shall die - For whom the bell tolls: in live shows, after saying "it's the last time you will" and the lights are out and there's just absolute silence - No leaf clover: the parts that jason doesn't like which is actually the melody of the voice.

I always wait for the last part of "Battery"... when everything speeds up and the riffs are so fast... mmm, perfect way to end a song! Also, I think everyone waits to chant "Die!" during "Creeping Death". But maybe it's just me. Another thing, when James puts "ahh!" on the end of any phrase. I always get a kick out of it.

Everytime I listen to Whiskey in a jar I start smiling, just as a conditioned response I use to "sing" with my daughter the guitar intro of Roam, especially when we're going for a walk I can't help headbanging with Battery and I always sing the "die" part of creeping death but also Opposition, contradiction, premonition, compromise Agitation, violation, mutilation, planet dies Darkest color Blistered earth True death of life Fortune, fame Mirror vain Gone insane But the memory remains ( Vienna memory) ![]() Careful what you wish Careful what you say Careful what you wish, you may regret it Careful what you wish, you just might get it and But now the dreams and waking screams That ever last the night So build a wall, behind it crawl And hide until it's light So can't you hear your babies crying now? now I better stop, I could go on this way for days |

those are the ones I can think at the moment, but there's more of them Motorbreath: 'It is going to take your breath away!' then guitar and drums after every chorus and the solos Creeping Death: Die! Die! Die! and the moment before it when the music slows down a little For Whom the Bell Tolls: around 0:57 when guitars are so fucking heavy and then Kirk's riffs (? I always have prblems if it's riff or already solo  ) kicks in Fuel: 'Oh, I burn, fuel is pumping engines, burning hard, loose and clean' oooh yeah! ( ), Master of Puppets: the slow solo and the moment starting with 'Master, Master, Where's the dreams that I've been after?' and ending with 'Fix me!!!' Sanitarium: everything after 'Just leave me alone' My Friend of Misery: the slow part around 3:30 and the solo The Outlaw Torn: solo

i love the purify part where james sings something like "I ain't dancing with your skeleton", the whole the struggle within chorus and the part at about 2.20 where james says struggle and the solo starts. there are a lot of more parts but these are the only two i know at the moment. |
