NOOO! I hope Cecily's all right But I also like the "conversation" between Cliff and Emily. There are a lot of unresolved issues there. And Cecily being angry at Jackson, understandibly. And Cliff hitting Kirk Looks like Cliff is finally growing up, owning up to how he treated Emily. And when she said she was faking it

:eyerub Oh shit... I hope Cecily will be allright That was really, really dramatic chapter, I can't believe that Cliff was so cruel towards Cecily and Emily. .. But at least he realized how he was hurting Emily... Poor Cess she was so disappointed with Jackson "Metallica gossips worse than a pack of old ladies" that was funny. And I squealed like a pig at the bit with Cliff and flipping his hair, thank you! And I knew that the scene with Kirk getting his ass kicked will be funny and it damn was Poor Alejandra... Ahh, I can't wait to see what will happen now!!! Poor Cecily

Vanessa- I'd say that there are a lot of unresolved issues. I love writing the fight scenes between those two, which is why they're so many of them. Maggie- I'll try and squeeze in some more hair flipping at some point. and I apologize if this chapter sucks ass. Chapter Ninety-Four “James and Lars are on their way,” Kirk announced as he fucked around with his new and swanky cell phone. It was black and sleek, and had its own leather case. “James and Lars,” Cliff repeated. “Why must you call the entire fucking circus?” “They care about Cecily too,” replied Kirk. “Your mom and Aunt Josephine might even come too, if they can get themselves on a flight.” “Oh fuck this is a mess,” Cliff sighed as he leaned against the wall and lit a cigarette, not giving a fuck that the hospital had a no smoking policy. They were now at King’s College Hospital, and were congregated in the waiting room waiting for someone to give them Cecily’s prognosis. Emily sat next to Evan on the other side of the room. He had his arm around her. She had been crying for almost the entire day. Her eyes were red and dry and very much irritated. “It’ll be alright,” Evan told her as he kissed the top of her head. “Cecily is a survivor. She’ll get through this.” “You didn’t see the paramedics come and take her away,” said Emily. “She looked so thin, and pale, and, and, and, so lifeless,” she fell into tears again, burying her face deep into Evan’s chest. Cliff had been watching from over in the corner. His heart felt like a ball of lead. Everything had gone so fucking wrong. I’ve lost Emily, he thought. I lost her because I pushed her away. She now goes to Evan in her time of need. I might have lost Cecily too. All because I had to be so fucking stupid. Doctor Blair came into the waiting room. “Which one of you is Cecily’s guardian?” he asked. “I am,” said Cliff as he came forward, however Emily, Evan, Cheyenne, and Kirk all sat up as well. “How is she?” Cliff asked. “Is she going to be okay?” “Well she is one sick little girl,” Dr. Blair replied truthfully. “She fainted, but when she fell she hit her head and lost consciousness. She is sleeping now, but it’s vital that someone monitors her at all times. She must be woken up every hour on the hour, even if it’s just for a few seconds, to assure that she doesn’t fall into a deep state of unconsciousness again. If she does, we may never get her back I’m afraid.” “I’ll stay with her,” said Emily. “I’ll stay with her all night if I have to.” “That’s very kind of you to offer,” replied Dr. Blair. “But only her legal guardian or parent can be in the room with her. We don’t allow many people to go back into the ICU.” Emily’s heart sank. Here the little girl that she had helped raise for six years was sick and needed her, and she wasn’t even allowed to be there for her. She found it very frustrating. “Emily here is like a mother to Cecily,” Cliff said to Dr. Blair. “She lived with me and helped me raise her for six years. Couldn’t the hospital make an exception for her?” “I’ll have to go and check,” answered Dr. Blair. “Meanwhile, you can see her if you’d like. Just remember to wake her up every hour on the hour.” “Yes Doctor,” Cliff nodded as he made his way to Cecily’s room. He entered the room. Cecily looked so fucking small lying there in that hospital bed. They had hooked her up to an IV. She had very tiny veins and Cliff could see where they had had to poke her quite a few times to get the IV in. He hated seeing her hooked up to some machine, with a needle in her arm. Her skin was as white as the sheets on the bed. Her long hair lay in a thick mass of curls upon the pillow. She was in a deep sleep, and didn’t even stir in the least as Cliff entered the room. He pulled up a chair and sat next to the bed. “I’m here Baby,” he murmured as he took her hand. It was as cold as ice. He gently kissed it. “You got to hang on Cess,” he said to her as she slept. “I’ll do anything. I’ll even let you be in Emily’s fucking wedding. I’ll even let you screw Jackson in my own bed if you want, though it sounded like you were pretty pissed off at him, and probably don’t want to do that anymore. I guess if you ever did want to bang Jackson, doing it in Aunt Jo’s hot tub would be more fun.” Emily came into the doorway of Cecily’s room holding Whiskey. Dr. Blair had gotten permission for her to go in there as well. She stood there watching Cliff for a few minutes. Even though he could be quite a dick at times, he still really did care about his daughter, and was a fantastic father to her. The two of them being together at the hospital with Cecily was not a new thing. Cecily’s fainting spells had landed her in the hospital a couple of times, especially when she was younger. The two of them had sat up through the night many a time with her. She watched as Cliff took Cecily’s limp and scrawny hand and held it up to his cheek. “Please God,” he murmured. “If you are really up there: help my girl pull through this. She’s been through enough bullshit in her life. I know that I’m a sinner, and I’m not even going to begin to plead for forgiveness for the shit that I have done, because some of it I’m not sorry about, and I rather enjoyed. But please, don’t take it out on Cecily. Give me back my little girl.” Holy shit, thought Emily. He’s praying. His mother would shit herself to see this. Cliff felt that he was being watched. He turned around and saw Emily standing in the doorway holding Whiskey. “Hey,” he said softly. “Dr. Blair said that I could see her,” Emily said awkwardly. “Here,” Cliff said. He got up and pulled another chair up to Cecily’s bedside for Emily to sit in. “Thank you,” Emily said as she took a seat. “You’re welcome,” Cliff responded as he sat back down. “I brought Whiskey,” said Emily as she gently laid the much loved dog plushie on the bed next to Cecily. “Kirk actually brought it. He grabbed it from your room. I remember when you bought Whiskey for her. She was in the hospital, just like this. She hadn’t been living with you very long had she?” Emily asked. Cliff shook his head. “Not really,” he answered. “She had been with me for almost a year, but not quite. I remember that it was in the fall. She was six I think. I had to come home from Metallica’s European tour. I got a call from Aunt Jo saying that Cess was really sick. I arrived just after the doctor had told Cecily that she was going to have to stay overnight.” “I remember that now,” Emily nodded. “All she did until you got there was ask for you, and then she was really upset when she found out that she had to stay the night.” “And I went down to the hospital gift shop and bought Whiskey,” Cliff added. “And we stayed with her throughout the night. Damn. This is old hat for us.” “It’s nine o’clock right now,” said Emily, glancing at her watch. “We should wake her.” Cliff gave Cecily a nudge. “Cecily,” he said gently. “Baby, wake up for me.” Very, very, slowly Cecily opened her eyes, but only halfway. “That’s my girl,” said Emily as she squeezed her hand. “Your dad and I are here with you. You won’t be alone.” “Mom,” Cecily murmured before she fell back asleep. Cliff sighed. “Emily,” he said. “We need to talk.” “You’ve said quite enough to me for one day Cliff,” Emily replied as she gently stroked Cecily’s cold, and clammy hand. “You’ve made it clear how you feel about me. Cecily isn’t my little girl, and you think that I don’t deserve any children of my own.” Cliff sighed. Must Emily be in constant bitch mode? “Whether we like it or not,” he said. “We’re always going to share a bond because of Cecily. We both love her, and we both want the best for her. Our fighting has already put her through a lot of bullshit. No matter how shitty it is for us, we’re going to have to try and get along better. Actually not try to get along better, we have to get along better for her sake.” He paused for a second, and then went on. “I’m sorry,” he said to Emily. “When I wanted Cess to come back to the United States with my instantly, I was only thinking of myself. I wasn’t thinking that it would mean the world to you if she was in your wedding, or that Evan might have wanted to say goodbye to her. If she wakes up from all of this, she can be your maid of honor.” “Thanks Cliff,” Emily said as she wiped away a few tears. “I would like that very much.” She sighed. “I’m sorry too,” she went on. “I know it seems like I’ve been trying to take Cecily away from you, but it’s only because she gets to be with you most of the time, and I only had two short weeks with her. I’m sorry that I expected you to give her up during the holidays too. It’s only natural that you would want your daughter home for Christmas. She can go to Switzerland with us some other time.” “If there is another time,” Cliff sighed. Cecily looked so fucking pathetic and fragile. Kirk really had done a bad job of remembering to feed her, and she looked noticeably thinner than she had been when she had left White Rock. “I still can’t believe that she and Kirk pulled that outrageous charade,” he commented. “I can,” said Emily as she looked at Cecily fondly. “I wouldn’t put anything past that girl. She’s been trying her whole life to get us together. Remember when you were staying at Aunt Josephine’s and I was staying over at Kirk’s mother’s house? She and Brunhilda planned that tea for us on the veranda.” “Yeah,” said Cliff. “And Lars showed up and messed it all up.” “It wouldn’t be the first time that Danish pee hen stuck his nose in where it didn’t belong,” replied Emily. “And then just a few years ago, she and Hildegarde planned that romantic dinner for us.” “They had candles and shit everywhere,” said Cliff. “Cess didn’t forget anything. She even laid out a few packages of condoms and some KY Jelly on the nightstand.” “At least she knew about safe sex,” Emily laughed. “I asked her the next day what was up with the KY jelly,” said Cliff. “And she said that she overheard us in Aunt Jo’s hot tub one night, and that I was exclaiming how tight you were, so she thought that it might help.” “Cecily is definitely one of a kind,” mused Emily. “She’s fucking insane,” said Cliff. “But that’s one of the things that I love the most about her.” “I’ve always thought of Cecily as a daughter,” Emily mumbled. “I love her too.” “I’m sorry about what I had said earlier about you not deserving kids and shit,” Cliff blurted out, blushing. He hated apologies. “I didn’t mean it. You’d make and have made a wonderful mother. Any kid would be lucky to have you for a mom Emily. I’m really sorry that you can’t have kids and shit.” “Thank you Cliff,” Emily sighed. “Evan’s been really sweet about it and all, but I know that he’s always wanted children of his own, and I feel terrible about it. I don’t really need that so much because Cecily really filled that void for me. She was five when she came to live with us, and we were both too busy to look after a baby. She was perfect because she was somewhat older, and at a better age for us to take care of her, yet still pretty young at the same time. I really don’t want and feel the need to have a real child of my own. I like Cecily, and I liked having her a little bit older. You could actually do shit with her, and take her places.” “I liked having her older too,” said Cliff. “I didn’t have to deal with potty training her, or with her crying and waking me up during the night. I don’t want any other kids either. Cess is perfect for me, and well she’s expensive enough.” “That’s for sure,” nodded Emily. “Plane tickets to England and back, and then more plane tickets to Denmark, and now her hospital bills. She’s a sweet and lovely girl, but definitely not an inexpensive one.” At that moment, Emily’s eyes began to well up into tears. She was starting to fall apart. “What if she never gets through this?” she asked. “What if she never wakes up?” “Don’t say that Pussy Cat,” said Cliff. The term of endearment slid right by them, “I’ll never forgive myself,” Emily wailed as she started to sob. Cliff reached out and took Emily into his arms. He was just as unsure of Cecily’s fate as Emily was, but she was looking to him for strength and direction. She needed a rock, and even though he too was on the frayed ends of sanity, he’d do whatever he could to be some sort of support for her. “It’s partly my fault too,” he said as he gently stroked Emily’s hair. “Cess is going to make it. If anybody can, she can. She’s a surprisingly strong little fucker. We know that.” It didn’t just feel good having Emily back in his arms again. It felt natural and very normal. He could smell the perfume that she always wore, and it brought him back to years ago when they were actually happy together and got along like two normal, happy, people. There was something warm and homey about that feeling, and it was a feeling that Cliff wished that he could go back to. Evan made his way over to the door of Cecily’s room. Since he wasn’t immediate family of the girl, he wasn’t allowed in her room, but he figured that Emily and even Cliff could use a cup of tea, so he had went down to a coffee shop and bought some. He was expecting Cliff and Emily to be holding a vigil beside Cecily’s bed, but he was not expecting Cliff to be holding her as she cried. He nearly dropped the tea as he stood in the doorway watching them. It felt very, very, strange to see the woman that he loved more than anything and was set to marry, in the arms of some other dude, even if he was just comforting her. Cliff may have been trying to just be an asshole that one afternoon when he had talked to Evan on the phone, but Evan couldn’t help but think that he had been somewhat correct. They did share a bond with Cecily, and it was one that no matter how hard he tried, Evan was never going to be able to break…. |

I'm caught up! YAY! It's so nice to read an update as it comes online. This was an awesome chapter. I loved the connection between Emily and Cliff. You could definitely pick up on the love they still feel for one another. Poor Cecily. The kid's been through so much, she needs a break. After this, they should throw a tremendous party for her. You are a fabulous writer. I could practically hear the beeps of the machines and see the blue-tinted din of the ICU room. This is addictive. Thank you for writing it. I can't wait for the next chapter!

That didn't suck at all. Poor Cecily And the whole conversation between Emily and Cliff was sad and so sweet, it's hard to describe exactly, but it almost made me cry, and I don't cry easily

oh dear....poor Cecily, Cliff, and Emily...this is so hard on them. But Cliff's right. If anybody can make it through this, it's Cecily. It's really good to see Cliff so humbled (Despite the extreme circumstance), and Emily too. I hope that the plan works without a certainly depressing negative side effect... |

Maisy- Thank you for getting all caught up. Wow. That's most impressive since it's a lot of reading. Thanks! Maggie- I guess I didn't have to procrastinate on my decision because it was sort of made for me today. Which is good I guess. Anyway, I'm very pleased that you like that past chapter. Vanessa- I don't cry easily either. Thank you. I'm not good writing the emotional scenes. I like doing the funnier stuff better. Rae- I think Cecily will make it through this. At least I sure very so hope that she does. Chapter Ninety-Five “Surprise!” a familiar happy voice yelled. “Happy Birthday Cecily!” “You ball of fuck!” yelled another voice. “It’s not her birthday.” “Fock you!” yelled the first voice as he danced into the hospital room. “Happy Birthday!” he sang as he flopped down on Cecily’s bed. “Huh?” Cecily groaned as she slowly opened her eyes. Her head burst with pain, and she was so drugged up she could barely remember her name, but it wasn’t every morning that the boys from Metallica decided to bestow their presence in a little girl’s hospital room, so she tried to sit up in the bed, but she was too weak to even sit up. “Oh,” she whined as she fell back down into the pillows. “Don’t worry Sweetheart,” said Kirk as he came over to the bed and propped up the pillows for her, and helped her sit up. “I’ll help you sit up.” “Thank you Mr. Kirk,” Cecily replied weakly as she let Kirk sit her up. She looked about the room. James was standing next to her bed holding a bouquet of balloons, and Francesca was standing right next to him. Meanwhile, Lars Ulrich was sitting right on the edge of Cecily’s bed, his legs dangling off of the end of it. A huge ass bouquet of hot pink roses was in his arms. He stuffed them in Cecily’s face. “Happy Birthday Cecily!” he said brightly. “Thank you Mr. Lars,” Cecily replied. “But it’s not my birthday.” “Well we can pretend that it is,” he returned. “These roses smell heavenly,” Cecily sighed as she buried her nose in them. “Where on earth did you get them?” “From Mrs. Fitzgerald’s rosebush of course,” answered Lars. “Uh oh! Does Mrs. Fitzgerald know that you used roses from her bush?” Cecily asked. “I don’t think she’ll like that.” “You don’t have to worry about that old coot,” said Lars. “Ain’t that right Kirk?” Kirk nodded, jiggling his black ringlets to and fro. “I asked her if we could borrow a few roses,” he replied. “And since she loves the wedding gown that I picked out for Emily, she said yes. We took more than just a few, but she doesn’t know about that yet.” “Well they are beautiful,” said Cecily as she admired them. “No one has ever given me roses before.” “It’s good to hear that you’re alright,” said Fran as she came over to give Cecily a hug. “You gave everyone quite the scare Cecily.” “I know,” said Cecily. “And I’m so sorry.” She looked about the room. “Where’s my Mom and Dad?” she asked. “They had to step out for a minute and sign some paperwork,” said James. “So you’re stuck with us instead. Where would you like these balloons?” “By my bedside please,” Cecily replied. “Thank you so much Mr. James, and thank you for coming to see me. It was so nice to wake up to a room full of people.” “Hey,” said James. “Cliff may have gone is separate way, and he ain’t in the band no more, but he’s still like my bro, and that makes you my little faux niece Cess. You’re part of our family now.” “Thanks Uncle James,” Cecily said. It took all of the strength that she could muster in order to smile at him, but she did. “Alright,” scoffed Lars frowning. Things between him and Cecily were a wee bit awkward, mostly because he had had a paternity test done with her and she witnessed him dancing around for joy when he found out that he wasn’t her father. The two had never been close. “Let’s get the fuck out of here,” he went on. “Oh rest your naddlins Lars!” shot Francesca. “You whine more than a homeless puppy.” She turned to Cecily and ran her fingers through Cecily’s long, beautiful, hair. “You have such beautiful hair,” she sighed. “If you’d like, I’ll straighten it for you before Emily’s wedding.” “I’d like that very much,” nodded Cecily. “I tried straightening it myself, but it has a mind of its own.” “You know what’s really focking weird?” said Lars as he pulled out a strand of his chewing gum and wrapped it around his pinky finger. “Seeing Burton’s woman slopping all over some other dude. It’s really focking odd. I can’t believe that she’s really going to marry someone else. She’s been banging Cliff forever.” “Are you fucking done yet Lars?” snapped Cliff, who had been standing in the doorway, listening with Emily right behind him. Lars sheepishly whirled around. “Hello Cliffy,” he said wearily. “Have you been enjoying your time in London?” he asked. “Oh yes,” Cliff quipped bitterly. “I just love it when my daughter’s missing and then ends up in the hospital. It’s great fun, you little Danish prick toad!” “Don’t take it out on me!” Lars retorted as he blew a huge bubble with his chewing gum right in Cliff’s face. “I wasn’t the one who kept her squirreled away in a hotel room like an idiot. Damn, Hamster that was sure a stupid idea. Ah well. I think that I’m going to go find Cheyenne and see if she’s up for a quickie.” With a big pop he burst his chewing gum bubble and then flounced out of the room. Cliff and Emily made their way over to Cecily’s bed. Cliff was holding a bag tied shut with purple ribbon, and Emily had a big, tan, tote bag. “Daddy!” Cecily called weakly yet excitedly. “Mom!” “Let’s give them some time alone,” said Francesca as she took James’s arm and started to drag him out of the room. Kirk was just standing there. “Come on Quirk!” James hollered to him. “But I want to see this enduring family moment,” he argued. “I never had a warm, loving, family life.” “Kirk,” Emily said importantly. “If you don’t get your ass out of here this instant, I’m going to write to Kerrang! and tell them that those amber leather Bruno Magli shoes that you have on are from last year’s collection.” “You wouldn’t?” Kirk gasped, horror reaching his face. “Trust me,” said Cliff. “Emily is a fucking bitch. She’s the nastiest woman in London. She’ll do it.” “He’s right,” Emily nodded. Kirk whimpered and looked shyly down at his fantastic amber leather shoes. Then he hurriedly scampered out of the room to go find a boutique so that he could buy a new pair of Bruno Maglie’s for himself. “That man just has to be gay,” Cliff remarked as he watched Kirk and his mound of ebony curls bound out of the room. “Oh believe me,” said Emily mischievously. “He’s not.” “And just what in the Ray’s heck do you mean by that?” Cliff demanded. “Mr. Kirk is too good of a kisser to be gay,” Cecily whispered weakly from her bed, a dreamy look upon her face. Cliff whirled around to face Cecily and frowned, but only for a moment. He’d deal with Emily and Kirk later. He was just glad to see that Cecily was awake. She still was pale, thin, and looked painfully weak, but at least she was sitting up, and she seemed alert to her surroundings. “How you feeling Cess?” he asked as he bent over and kissed the top of her head. “I have a massive fucking headache Daddy,” Cecily replied. “It’s brutal.” “I’m sure it is Baby girl,” answered Cliff as he squeezed her hand. “I’ve had some ass fucking pounding headaches after a few benders myself, but I sure as hell haven’t had anything as bad as what you had.” “I just want to go home,” Cecily moaned. “I hate being in the hospital.” She looked sadly over at her IV. “And I hate seeing my little girl in the hospital,” said Emily. “Dr. Blair said that if all is well, you can come home tomorrow morning.” “Oh I do hope so,” replied Cecily. “Meanwhile,” said Emily. “I thought that I’d bring a piece of home to you.” She opened up the big tan carry bag that she had been carrying, and out popped Queen Victoria, who happily leapt onto Cecily’s bed. “Queen Victoria!” Cecily cried as the dog gave her kisses. “Oh thank you Mom! Thank you for bringing her.” “Dr. Blair said that she can’t stay too long,” Emily cautioned. “She missed you Cecily. She’s grown rather attached to you.” Queen Victoria did seem to rather like Cecily. The dog squeaked as she covered Cecily’s hands with kisses, and wagged her little tail. “I’m going to miss Queen Victoria when I go back to California,” said Cecily as she hugged the dog close. “I love you Cess,” said Cliff. “But I’m not letting you get one of those little rat dog things. That dog looks like a fuzzy turd with legs.” “You can come and visit Queen Victoria anytime that you’d like dear,” replied Emily, not looking at Cliff who was being his usual sulky self. “Oh I’ll definitely be coming back,” Cecily chattered. “I’ve hardly gotten to see any of London on this trip. Well I did see a lot of the Four Seasons penthouses.” “I promise to take you to a real English tea, and to Buckingham Palace,” said Cliff gently as he smoothed out Cecily’s hair. “I’m going to be staying in London with you.” “I already booked a tea reservation for Wednesday,” Emily said. “And I was going to take her to see the Palace.” “You don’t want to do all of that touristy shit,” snapped Cliff. “Plus, aren’t you getting fucking married Friday night?” he asked. “You have too much shit to do.” “No I don’t!” shot Emily. “That little groupie babe of yours fucking already did everything. And there is nothing more important to me than spending time with Cecily.” “Well then what am I supposed to fucking do?” Cliff whined. “Grovel around London by my lonesome?” “This is my time with Cecily!” Emily snarled. “You get her all the rest of the time. Can’t you spend your days in London fucking Cheyenne?” “Cheyenne’s off fucking Lars right now as we speak,” Cliff whined. “It’s fucking gross.” “It sucks having your significant other sleeping around behind your back,” said Emily. “Doesn’t it? Now you know how I felt.” “Oh fuck you, you old crotch pheasant!” Cliff snapped at her. “Quit acting like Saint Theresa. I want to know why you’re so fucking sure that Ham Man isn’t gay.” “Guys!” Cecily broke in. “You’re fighting again. Please stop! I already have enough of a headache.” “I’m sorry Angelfuck,” said Cliff. He gave Emily a dirty look, and then turned his attention to the rather festive bag that he had been holding. “This is for you,” he said as he gave it to Cecily. “It’s a present to say I love you, and that I’m sorry for all that’s happened.” Cecily looked at the bag and smiled. She knew very well what was inside. She reached down into the tissue paper, and pulled out the globe that she had seen in the gift shop last night. She shook it, making the soft glitter sparkle and dance. “I love it Daddy!” she breathed. “I thought you might,” Cliff said proudly. “It is beautiful Cliff,” Emily agreed. “It looks hand painted.” “Thank you so much Daddy,” replied Cecily. “I’ll treasure it forever and ever.” “It’s a very nice gift,” Emily remarked as she took the globe and examined it. “I’ll have to get myself one.” “They’re fucking expensive,” said Cliff. “And that fucker down in the gift shop wasn’t going to come down on the price either.” “You got that right,” said Cecily. Cliff just looked at her. “I have my own money to buy my own things,” Emily retorted primly. She turned to Cecily. “Your father and I are going to try our very best to be civil towards each other from now on.” “That would be nice,” Cecily sighed as she played with her globe. “It’s going to be up to you who you want to do things with,” Emily went on. “You can stay with Evan and I, or you can stay with your dad at his hotel. You can see the Buckingham Palace with me, or you can go with Cliff.” “I’d like to stay with you Mom,” Cecily answered. “I’m not going to be seeing you as much anymore, and I miss you. But as for Buckingham Palace, why do I have to choose between you and Dad? Couldn’t we all go see it together?” “We’re not a family anymore Cecily,” said Emily. “I’m making my own family unit now with Evan.” “He can come too,” Cecily went on. “And so can Miss Cheyenne.” “I don’t want to be around Cl-” Emily started to say, but Cliff cut her off. “If you want us to all go see it together Angelfuck, we will,” he said. “We’ve put you through quite enough this summer, and I’m willing to tolerate your mom for a few afternoons.” He gave Emily an icy look. “Fine,” said Emily. “You can come to tea and to the Palace with us. I’ll have to get the reservation changed for the extra people.” “Is Mr. Evan coming too?” Cecily asked. “No dear,” replied Emily. “He’s actually getting his tuxedo fitted for the wedding that afternoon. It will just be the three of us plus Cheyenne.” Cecily secretly wished that Cheyenne wouldn’t go to tea. She just knew that she could get Cliff and Emily back together if they had tea as a family. Better yet, she could conveniently disappear for a while so that Cliff and Emily could have tea alone for a bit. “That’s if we can pull Cheyenne off of Lars,” Cliff muttered. Cheyenne and Lars had found a vacant hospital room, and their shrieks of passion could be heard throughout the entire corridor. “Something tells me that Miss Cheyenne won’t be coming to tea,” said Cecily sweetly. “I have to agree with you there,” said Cliff. “It’s going to be just the three of us.” “Great,” Emily sighed with much sarcasm. Cliff had managed to horn himself in on her special time with Cecily. “And just what the fuck do you mean by that?” demanded Cliff. “You two!” Cecily squealed. “You have to promise me something, or else I won’t go to tea with any of you.” “Oh yeah?” Cliff asked. “And what do we have to promise?” “You have to promise that for next few days you guys won’t fight,” said Cecily. “You have to be nice to each other. I think that you two should face each other, shake hands, and say something nice about one another.” “Cecily Virginia Burton!” Cliff scolded. “Where in hog’s hell did you get such a hippie idea from?” “Mr. Kirk,” Cecily answered. “He says that Bob Rock makes the band do that when things get a little heated between them in the studio.” “God, I left Metallica at the right time,” Cliff sighed. “Before they made lots of money?” Emily shot. “Hey you stupid rat cunt-” Cliff started to yell. “This is what I mean!” cried Cecily. “Be nice! No more smartass insults.” “Yes Mother,” said Cliff. “Now say something nice to each other,” commanded Cecily. “Humor your sick little daughter who’s in the hospital.” Emily sighed, shook Cliff’s hand, and cleared her throat. “You’re a good bassist,” she said evenly. “Good?” Cliff scoffed. “That’s it? Just good? Do you have any idea of how much time I’ve invested in becoming the best motherfucking bassist in the entire world?” “Well you’re not Geezer Butler or anything,” said Emily with a shrug. “What the fuck!” Cliff yelped. “Guys!” Cecily screeched. “No fighting. You two are worse than children. Now Daddy, it’s your turn to say something nice to Mom.” Cliff lit a cigarette, and looked at Emily long and hard, trying to find something nice to say about the bitch. Finally he said “You have nice tits.” Cecily sighed in frustration. It was going to take more than just an afternoon of tea to get those two back together… |

You're a good bassist, you have nice tits Well, it's a start. And Lars and Cheyenne getting it on in the hospital I wonder how on earth are they going to be civil to each other, or maybe not And no, Kirk is definetly not gay, he's got good taste, though. My brother just wears the same old jeans and t-shirt every day until he stinks too bad

Vanessa- Your brother sounds like my husband. He has this pair of athletic pants that he calls the swishy pants. They have a giant hole in the ass of them and need to be burned. Maisy- Get some sleep girl!!! Chapter Ninety-Six “Alright Cecily,” said Cliff. “There must be something that you’d like me to get for you to eat. This hospital food is some fucking bullshit. How about some ice cream?” “I don’t know,” Cecily sighed as she looked at the IV needle that was stuck on the back of her hand and shivered. “Not much sounds that good to me. A piece of strawberry cheesecake sounds heavenly though. Strawberry cheesecake with graham cracker crust.” “If that’s what my daughter wants, that’s what she gets,” Cliff replied, getting up from the chair that was pulled up next to Cecily’s hospital bed. “Kirk did a crappy job of feeding you. I think he spent more time banging chicks instead.” “Mr. Kirk just forgot that a growing girl needs to eat more than just once a day,” replied Cecily. “Don’t go through too much trouble Daddy. If you can’t find a cheesecake, some ice cream will do. I don’t even know if they have cheesecake in England.” “Bullshit!” snapped Cliff as he gave her a quick hug. “Even if I have to import it in from East Siberia, my daughter is going to be eating strawberry cheesecake tonight.” “Even with graham cracker crust?” asked Cecily. “Absomotherfuckinglutely,” Cliff nodded. “I’ll be back shortly.” And with that, Cliff left the hospital room, on a mission to find Cecily a piece of cheesecake. Evan had been sitting out in the waiting room working diligently on a special surprise for the wedding. He looked up as Cliff traipsed on by. “Hello Cliff,” he said cordially. Cliff didn’t even glance at Evan. He kept right on walking, ignoring him. What an ass, Evan thought. I can’t believe that it took Emily six years to leave him. I would have left him after one day. Since Cliff had finally left, that meant that Cecily would be alone. Dr. Blair was now letting other visitors see her, but Evan had stayed away mostly because he felt awkward visiting Cecily when Cliff was around. He could see her now. He closed up what he had been working on, and stuffed it under his arm. He made his way to Cecily’s room and knocked on the door. “Cecily,” he said gently. “Hey Mr. Evan!” she replied. Though she was pale, and in an ugly, blue, hospital gown, her eyes still shone bright with life. “Boy am I glad to see you,” Evan went on as he went over to her bed to give her a hug. It was the first time that he had seen her since she had been found. You had me so worried.” “I’m sorry,” Cecily sighed. There was an awkward silence. After all, the reason that Cecily had gone missing was because she was trying to get her parents back together, an idea that Evan probably wasn’t too fond of. “I’m just glad that you’re safe,” Evan went on. “I would never forgive myself if something ever happened to you. I’m looking very forward to having a stepdaughter.” “Thank you Mr. Evan,” answered Cecily, immediately feeling ashamed for how she had tried to get Emily back with Cliff. Evan didn’t deserve to be dumped and left with a broken heart. He had to be one of the sweetest and most thoughtful guys that Cecily had ever met, and he was insanely handsome. It was all that Cecily could do not to gawk at him as he sat down at her beside. When he smiled, it made her heart race. She wondered if a kissing lesson from Evan would be a divine as one from Mr. Kirk. Only earlier that same very day, she’d been planning on getting her parents back together while they were at tea together. She decided to let it go. Evan was sweet, and treated Emily like a princess. She couldn’t see him get hurt, and quite frankly, he treated Emily way better than her dad ever did. Evan deserved her. “I wanted to get your opinion on something,” Evan said as he reached into his back pocket and pulled out a blue leather box. He opened it revealing a gorgeous, glimmering, silver chain that sparkled in the light. Hanging from it was a diamond in a beautiful setting, and a teardrop pearl. “Oh my!” Cecily breathed, her hand going over her heart. “That’s got to be the most beautiful necklace that I’ve ever seen.” “You like it?” Evan asked. “Oh yes,” Cecily nodded. “Is it for me?” Evan turned pink. “No,” he replied. “It’s for Emily. It’s a wedding gift. Do you think that it’s good enough for her?” “It’s absolutely gorgeous,” answered Cecily. “She’ll adore it. I just know that she will! Miss Emily has such a slender, delicate, neck, just like an angel. It will look most ravishing on her. I wish that I had a beautiful neck like an angel. Don’t you Mr. Evan? Don’t you wish that I had a beautiful neck? Long and slender, just like a crystal swan?” “Actually Cecily,” said Evan. “In all honesty, I haven’t thought that much about your neck.” Cliff must have slipped her some weed, he thought. “You have a very nice neck,” he added. “No,” Cecily replied. “It has a freckle on it. I could never be devastatingly beautiful because I have freckles.” At that moment, Cliff appeared in the doorway of Cecily’s room. He held a small white paper bag that contained a piece of strawberry cheesecake with graham cracker crust. He almost shat himself at the sight of Evan sitting by Cecily’s bed. What the fuck did that loser want? Cliff remained quiet and unnoticed, watching them interact for a few minutes. “You are devastatingly beautiful Cecily,” Evan reassured her. He closed up the necklace box. “I’m just not sure when to give it to her. Do I give it to her the night before the wedding so that she can wear it with her dress, or do I give it to her after the ceremony?” “It would look breathtaking with Mom’s dress,” answered Cecily. “It’s got to be one of the prettiest necklaces that I’ve ever seen. I’d say give it to her the night before. I’m sure that she’d love to wear it to the ceremony.” “Thank you Cecily,” said Evan as he gave her a hug. “I’m really nervous about everything. I want it to be perfect, and I’ve been working on this surprise, but I don’t think I’m going to go through with it.” “What surprise?” Cecily asked, taking interest. “I was thinking about making a speech to Emily at our reception,” Evan blurted out shyly. “To tell her how I feel about her, and let her know how much I love her. But I’m horrible at public speaking, I hate it.” “Oh Mr. Evan that sounds so romantic,” Cecily breathed. “I’ve been trying to write something all day,” Evan admitted. “But I’ve never been very good at putting my words down on paper, and even if I was, I’m not very good at speaking them.” “I’ll help you,” said Cecily. “Between Mr. Kirk and me you have one hell of an army of hopeless romantics. We’ll find something for you to say, and I’ll help you rehearse it.” “You’d really do that?” Evan asked. “Of course,” Cecily nodded. “Mom is going to love it.” “I hope so,” said Evan. “I just want Emily to know that she’s the best thing that ever happened to me.” He took out his paper and a pen, and handed it to Cecily. Cecily’s mind went immediately into romance mode as she scribbled some ideas down for a few minutes. Finally with a flourish, she put down her pen. “This is just a beginning,” she said. “It’s not near finished. I think I’ll ask Kirk to help us because he’s a fantastic writer. He’s even working on writing a children’s book right now with Tom Araya. His essays and poems always win contests.” She handed the paper back over to Evan. Evan cleared his throat and read Emily: my bride, my friend, my lover, the reason that I get up in the morning, my reason for being. Today it is an honor and a privilege to show my undying devotion to you and to our new life together. He smiled. “Hey, that’s pretty damn good,” he commented. “Thank you,” said Cecily, returning the smile. “I write a lot.” Cliff felt as if he had been punched in the stomach. It was bad enough that Evan Fitz-suck-on-my-balls had to take Emily away. Cliff was certain that if Evan hadn’t of swarmed in on Emily, that maybe she never would have left him. Did Evan have to take Cecily away to? Cliff knew that smile she had just given him. It was the same smile that she always had used for him, and he did not like it one bit being used on somebody else. “I just don’t know if I can get up and say this in front of a bunch of people,” mused Evan. “Public speaking is terrifying.” “As my Daddy would say,” said Cecily. “You just have to grow some balls Mr. Evan.” “Well, I would need to grow them in just five days,” replied Evan. “I really want to do it. I’d love to stand up in front of my family and friends and let them all know how much I love Emily, but I don’t want to make a fool out of myself. Just the thought of it scares me.” “Weed,” Cecily said with a nod. “I’ll swipe some of my Daddy’s weed. You can have a hit of it right before you get up to do the toast.” “Cecily!” Evan exclaimed. “What?” replied Cecily. “Daddy has enough weed on him for a small country, he’ll never notice that it’s gone. When he travels he keeps it in his shower kit in this empty conditioner bottle.” “And just how do you know that?” said Evan. “Because,” Cecily giggled. “Have you seen his hair? Everyone knows that he doesn’t use conditioner. He just uses the bottle to smuggle his drugs around in. Since you’re a beginner, it would probably be easiest if you smoke it using a water bong. I wonder if Daddy brought his water bong along with him to England. If not, do you know where in London that we could get one?” “Uh no,” replied Evan, halfway amused. “I can’t say that I do.” Cecily shrugged. “We could always ask Shayi,” she replied. “She’ll know for sure.” “Cecily,” Evan began. “How do you know so much about smoking weed?” “You’ve seen my daddy right?” asked Cecily. Just then, the smile disappeared from her face. Her skin nearly went gray as she leaned back into the pillows and closed her eyes. “What’s wrong Cecily?” asked Evan, urgency in his voice. “My head,” Cecily groaned as she brought her hand up to her forehead. “I’ll get the doctor,” said Evan. He sprang up from the chair, but Cecily grabbed his hand. “No!” she said. “Just stay here with me,” she begged. “It’s just a pain spasm. I’ve been having them on and off all day. It’ll pass.” “I hate seeing you in so much pain. You’ve been through so much,” Evan sighed as he sat back down and squeezed Cecily’s hand. “You deserve to be happy Cess.” “So do you Mr. Evan,” said Cecily. “I’m really sorry for everything that I did. I wasn’t thinking. I just wanted my parents to be together again, but in all honesty, Mom will be much happier with you than she ever would have been with my dad.” Evan was quite surprised. He never would have guessed in a million years that Cecily would ever say anything against her precious father. Cliff, who was still standing in the doorway, was also quite shocked himself. “You really think so?” Evan murmured. Cecily nodded. “You treat her better,” she admitted. “And you’re trustworthy. Daddy even admitted to me that he couldn’t be trusted, just like Jackson.” “Don’t be so mad at Jackson,” said Evan kindly as he fluffed Cecily’s pillows. “He was worried about you not having your fainting medicine. He was worried about you fainting, and rightfully so, since you landed yourself in the hospital.” Cecily blushed. “He didn’t want you fainting inside the hotel suite all alone with no one around to help you. Kirk could barely feed you properly, let alone help you out of a health crisis,” pointed out Evan. “Look Cecily, I know how young, teenage, boys act when they have their very first girlfriend. They’re nervous, they’re scared, and they’re just so excited that the girl will even talk to them, that they’ll do anything to get her affections. You’re Jackson’s first girlfriend, so that makes you very special to him. He wants to do things right, but he’s also learning as well. Give him a second chance.” “Gee Mr. Evan,” said Cecily. “I never thought that Jackson might have told my dad because he was worried about me fainting.” “He cares about you Cecily,” Evan replied. “Daddy told me that guys are pigs,” Cecily went on. “He said that all he wanted out of his first girlfriend was a quick fuck in the supplies closet at her dad’s office, and then he dumped her the next day before first period at school.” “Well that’s Cliff for you,” Evan shrugged. “I just wanted my first girlfriend to say hello to me whenever I’d see her around. And if she did, it made my whole, entire, day. Not all guys are like your dad Cecily.” “I’m still not sure about Jackson,” Cecily replied thoughtfully. “Maybe I’ll give him another chance. I just hope that someday I can meet a boy who’s more like you Mr. Evan, rather than like my dad.” “You will,” Evan told her kindly. “Out there somewhere, there’s a special boy just waiting for you. Not all guys are out for just a quick fuck. You just make sure that he treats you like a lady, the way that you deserve to be treated.” “Yes sir,” Cecily nodded as she leaned over and gave Evan a hug. Cliff had had quite enough. For two cents he’d chop off Evan Fitzgerald’s nut sack right there in the hospital room. How dare he? How dare he fill Cecily’s head with nonsense? In Cliff’s opinion, if you were a fourteen-year-old boy and you didn’t think constantly about screwing some chick all day long, there was something drastically wrong with you. And just who in the hell had told him that it was okay for him to dole out advice to his daughter? Especially advice on boys of all subjects! And what the fuck did Cecily mean about him not conditioning his hair? His hair didn’t look that bad did it? But what hurt Cliff the most was what Cecily had said about Evan treating Emily better. Cliff had always thought that as long as he was a loving father to Cecily: buying her shit, taking her fishing on Sundays, letting her come into the recording studio with him, and telling her Misfits stories, that she would overlook all of the woman that he had banged and then cast aside, but apparently she hadn’t. He had been setting a horrible example for her all along. “Fuck,” he groaned as he moved away from the doorway, not wanting to be seen, and lit up a cigarette. “My own daughter thinks that I’m an asshole…” |

“Kirk,” Emily said importantly. “If you don’t get your ass out of here this instant, I’m going to write to Kerrang! and tell them that those amber leather Bruno Magli shoes that you have on are from last year’s collection.” “You wouldn’t?” Kirk gasped, horror reaching his face." it's great Cecily's feeling much better Oooh, and I don't blame her for giving up on Cliff and Emily ... Too bad though And I must say, Cliff got quite a lesson, I wonder if he'll do something about it... And it's a good thing Evan put Jackson in better light, I hope Cecily will forgive him, he was just worried about her That bit of speech for Evan was ver romantic And I want that book Kirk and Tom are writing :horns2

Cecily is right, Cliff doesn't know how to treat women properly Don't blame him for being jealous, but he's got to grow up. And that necklace sounded wonderful Cecily talking to Evan about weed, that was so funny

This chapter was awesome. Evan sounds like an okay guy. He's sort of missing an edge, though. I'm interested to see what happens. I am VERY worried about Cec's pain spasms. I hope that's all they are More soon, please!! |

But I also like the "conversation" between Cliff and Emily. There are a lot of unresolved issues there. And Cecily being angry at Jackson, understandibly. And Cliff hitting Kirk
Looks like Cliff is finally growing up, owning up to how he treated Emily. And when she said she was faking it

YAY! It's so nice to read an update as it comes online.
Though I feel very sorry for Cecily she actually managed to do what she wanted, Emily and Cliff got closer to each other :horns2 I loved the part with Cliff praying, he's so caring, aaand he managed to apologize to Emily at last, wow!
I only hope Cecily will be fine
And no, Kirk is definetly not gay, he's got good taste, though. My brother just wears the same old jeans and t-shirt every day until he stinks too bad
... Too bad though
