I really want to buy this dvd, but can only find it available on region 1 format. Does anyone from the UK/Europe own this dvd and know whether it works on a Uk dvd player.

Thanks in advance. :)

Well... It depends on your DVD player. Some DVD players play other formats, too. Generally I think that region 2 is for Europe, whereas region 1 is for the US, Canada and some other minor places.

[And I'm actually glad I saw this question, 'cos now I can check if the DVD player in my TV is region 1, 'cos it won't play my other DVDs. So, thanks!]

I realise that region 1 is for usa/canada, but I'm not sure how to find out if my dvd player is multi region, I've had it for years...........I might just buy it and keep my fingers crossed. lol.

Well, if it is, or is not, I'd asume that it's mentioned in the manual. Or if you google the DVD player, a site with the info will probably come up..

I w ant to know, too. I once downloaded this DVD and liked it a lot, but saw only some parts of it and deleted it because it used too much space.
I've looked for it everywhere and it's not in the shops here in Spain, and the internet ones are all for region one. =/

I've just found out my player is region 2 :( but I'm trying to find a code to unlock it. If not looks like I'm buying a new dvd player cos I so want this dvd.

I'm wondering why it was never released in the UK/Europe on dvd. Seems strange to me, as they have so many fans over here.

I bought AYAH on dvd and it came in some unusual case (a normal cd case! ) at a local shop. So I bought it immediatly because I thought "well if they sell it here it must be released as region 2 now then". coming home I discovered it was fucking region 1. Now I can only watch at my pc. But when I do so the stupid program says "you are now switching from gegion 2 to region 1, you can only do this 2 more times" Wtf? If it's possible to view region 1 too then why is there a limited amount of switching allowed between them? Motherfucking marketing nowadays. :angry

What is the point of having more regions anyways? I mean cd's play in everything everywhere, why should dvd's be different?

It doesn't only apply to the DVD player, but it's also the TV. If your DVD player can play region 1, then you should be able to view it, nowadays that its. If you have an older TV, you might not be able to play it, whether your DVD player can or can't.
This is only for playing region one in Europe, ofcourse.

I've got AYAH too, and I good only play it on my laptop twice. It pretty much sucks and I don't get why they don't release it for region 2 as well.

Didn't realise the TV had to be compatible too.....that sucks big time.

I don't get why it's not released worldwide. I'm thinking of emailing the metstore and seeing if they can shed any light on it...........if they reply that is.

Good idea. I was planning on doing that too soon, but I hadn't had the time to do so yet :P

You should mail them too either way. The more mails they get, the more serious they will take the matter.
