Most cheap DVD players you can buy now are Multi-Region DVD players, I've got AYAAH and it plays fine in the 4 DVD players in my house |

I had this problem but if you have say two computers u could set one dvd program to region 1 and the other to region 2. I've set my Power DVD program to region 1 so i can watch region 1 dvds. You can change it about 6 times but after that it stays on whatever region you picked. If you could afford to sacrifice your computer and change the region code then you could watch it that way. |

Well I got a reply back from metclub today.......unfortunately it doesn't answer my question at all. Here's what I wrote and their reply............. I'm really keen to purchase the Year and a half in the life...dvd. But notice that it is only available on your site in region 1 format, as are all other dvd's you sell. Now under normal circumstances this wouldn't be a problem, because I've purchased other Metallica dvd's (Cunning Stunts and SKOM) in the UK from HMV etc and they are region 2. But I'm really disappointed to find that every copy I've come across over here or online is region 1 only. Is there a reason for this, why was it never made available for us fans in the UK/Europe? I have spoken to several other European fans who are also in the same predicament, and are really upset at not being able to watch it, unless we all go and buy new TV/dvd players that are region free. Hoping you can help. Joanne Our Reply : DVD query Hello Joanne, Thank you for your email. Unfortunately we only sell Region 1 in our store. We were never given another region to sell. We wish you luck with finding it. Possibly it could play through your computer? -The MetStore Do not reply to this email. If you'd like to respond, please logon to your MetClub account, click on the tab 'My Account' and then the link 'Customer Support'. Regards, MetClub So looks like I'm back to square one!!! |

I see a clear answer there. You ask: Why was it never made available for us fans in the UK/Europe? They answer: We were never given another region to sell. [And also, it is available. You can buy it. Another thing is if your DVD player can play it or not. But the DVD itself is available ;P ] |

UK/Europe is region 2 (so in reality it was never marketed for the Eruopean market ) and it has never been made available on region 2, and most older dvd players are not region free, it's only recently that dvd players are being made region free. I know it's available to buy in the UK, but what I don't understand is why when the other Metallica dvd's are available in region free or region 2 format, why not this one. Looks like my only option is to buy another dvd player or go without the dvd.
