Well it does!

Yeah, that's right! I read the title 'S&M' and I first thought "Eww..." but when I thought better, I figured out it was Symphony and Metallica!

I think he's trying to ask us what "S&M" makes us feel.

For example to him, it means "orgasime" (Goddamn kid!). I don't think that he'd be asking what it stands for and give an example that's totally irrelevant.

Their sound was awesome back then. The vocals are ace. And the drums didn't sound so plastic like they do on post 2000 recordings.

But it is a fact that the album was heavily produced after it had been recorded live.
Because, if it were truely 'live' then there wouldn't have been the need to write "Produced by Bob Rock" on the back of the cd cover.
I do think it's awesome that they 'produced' the album. This way it sounds awesome and in the best possible way. If they didn't produce it, then we'd aswell just download a bootleg of the show, because that's how it would sound like then.

No problem dude!

And I agree with Max, it's an awesome album but the editing was a tad unnecessery.

I'm not saying it was unnescessary. I'm just saying it's a GOOD thing that they edited it. Otherwise the soundquality wouldn't have been as good as it is now. And to me, soundquality is a big deal. That is one of the main reasons why I only dig a limited amount of metal: I don't dig the sound of most metal music out there.

Oh, guess I misunderstood you.

If you ask me it WAS unnecessery, of course the sound is important but S&M sounds peretty polished up, it dosn't have that raw sound.

Metallica and the orchestra should've left raw, it sounds like a studio album to me.

Agreed! It would've sounded more 'real' if they didnt edit it. Which is what I love with f.ex recordings from 1986 with the shitty soundquality, it's more raw and alive. Hope that made sense :P

Well Live Shit was edited too (obviously), but it sounds more raw. I do like the playing on Live shit better (if we're talking about cd versions), and I love the sound. But I'd also have liked it if it was even more polished like S&M.

Yes I agree.
Those are my "favourite" live vocals of James...they're perfect. Nowadays james wouldn't NAIL a difficult song like No Leaf Clover like he did back then...it's just amazing.
