I hate sleeping on the train or on the bus, It's awful Anyways, I hope they will stay together too, and Natalya's father won't make any troubles when they get back! It would be a shame to ruin what's between them. "Yeah. This is so rad, I don't think anyone in Metallica has ever been that far North. We should reach Nordkapp by the end of the week, you can send a postcard from there saying you were at the top of Europe", he chuckled." Wow! That's awesome!

Thanks ladies. Maggie, Nordkapp is the highest point in continental Europe, in northern Norway. It is a popular tourist attraction and attracts many people during the summer, but it's one of those things that people go see to claim they've been there. Anyway, here's another chapter. Chapter 121 The alarm clock rang at three in the morning. Shane cursed under his breath and rolled over, hitting the snooze button. He opened his eyes and yawned as the room came into view. The sun was already out, the brightness shocking for the time. Shane gently shook her, brushing her hair aside from her face. "Wake up, baby doll. We gotta catch the train", he whispered. Natalya murmured something in her sleep, her eyes opening. "Co to jest?" she murmured sleepily. "We gotta catch the train, baby doll. You can sleep on the train", he said, kissing her cheek. "Oh, I see. We have everything packed, nie?", she asked. "Yeah, let's take a shower and get some coffee, I'm sure the train station has something", he said. An hour later, they were at the gleaming white train station in downtown Trondheim. Shane had bought some coffee and handed one to her, as she drank the hot steaming liquid. "We have half an hour until we board, Bodo is at the end of the line. From there we check into the hotel and get some sleep. From there, we go to Stamsund on the Lofoten Islands, they look so rad, like an island Alps. Just try to sleep on the train", he said, eating his toast. Natalya drank some coffee, her eyelids feeling heavy. The bright sunshine at four in the morning was disorienting, as she was used to darkness at this hour. I do hope I can get some sleep on the train, she thought. Shane helped her to her feet as they walked towards the terminal. He had hired a cart to tote their bags, the red plastic cart in front of him. I hope she can get some sleep, I'm going to let her rest at the hotel. The sleek silver train sat on the track, steam pouring from it's whistle. Shane helped her aboard and found their seats, putting the bags in the baggage compartment. Natalya sank down in her seat with a sigh as he fastened her seatbelt. "Try to get some sleep, lalka", he murmured, kissing her cheek. She nodded weakly and closed her eyes, snuggling against him. The other passengers boarded the train. Most of them were just as tired as them, slumping down into her seats and closing their eyes. The conductor checked that everyone had boarded and closed the doors, the whistle tooting as the train chugged out of the station. Shane put an arm around her waist as she snuggled against him, her head resting on his shoulder. She was fast asleep, her breathing even and steady and her blond hair tickling his cheek. He was touched at how vulnerable she was, sleeping like a child against his body. I'm just going to let her sleep, she deserves it, he mused, closing his own eyes. |

I can understand. Getting up at 3 AM is brutal. Sometimes at times like that it's just best to pull an all nighter. Whenever we drive up to Michigan we always leave at 3 or 4 AM and it's hell. We do that so we can do the 17 hour drive primarily in the daylight as opposed to at night when you have to worry about hitting a deer and shit. It's sooooooo rough though. Ugh. And I have to do it in about 4 weeks. |

Chapter 122 Natalya stirred in her sleep, her eyes fluttering open. The sunlight streamed in through the windows, the brightness almost startling in its intensity. She checked her watch and saw it was noon. I feel much better now, I needed that nap, she mused. Shane was asleep next to her, his head resting on her shoulders. Poor boy, I hope I did not wear him out, she giggled. A blush formed on her cheeks when she remembered their lovemaking. It is so good, and I keep wanting more. But Shane is both gentleman and rogue, I love this crazy man, she thought contentedly. Shane's eyes fluttered open, the turquoise blue color of his eyes momentarily stunning her. "Good afternoon, lalka. Sleep good?", he asked. "Tak, I needed it. And where are we, the sun is so bright", she said, as they looked out the window. The scenery outside the train was cruel and barren, a far cry from the green and forested south. The ground was covered with scraggly dull grass sprouting equally scraggly wildflowers, poking through the gray rocky ground. Occasional stunted trees whizzed by, clinging to the barren soil. Very few people were about except for an occasional hunter or ranger or hiker, hardly any buildings except for isolated trailers and tiny wooden houses. "Man, what is this place. It looks like Alaska", said Shane. "Tak, it looks so barren. When do we arrive?", she asked. "We arrive at Bodo in four hours. From what I've read of this part of Norway, it's rugged and barren as hell. Oh well, there should be something in town. Let's go to the club car and get something to eat", he said. The club car was virtually empty, most of the passengers still sleeping. A waitress was setting out fresh napkins while a busboy scrubbed down a table. The waitress noticed them and smiled, walking over to their table. "Hvordan ma jeg hyelp de?", she asked. "Are you serving lunch?", he asked politely. "Ja, we have sandwiches and soup and drinks", she said, handing them each a plastic laminated menu. "I'm starving, lalka, we didn't do the breakfast buffet", he said, looking at the menu. "Tak, I just had coffee", she said, blushing when her stomach grumbled. "Order whatever you like, baby doll", he chuckled. "What will you have?", asked the waitress. "I'll have a BLT sandwich, chicken soup and a beer", said Shane. "And I will have a tuna sandwich, tomato soup and coffee", said Natalya. The waitress nodded and took their menus, going into the kitchen in the back. "When we get to the hotel, I just wanna rest. From what I've read, there's not much to see in the town anyway. It's the end of the line for the train and the ferry for the Lofotens departs from there. We are staying at the Thor Hotel Nordlep, there's good views of the ocean from there. The ferry to the Lofotens leaves at three in the afternoon tomorrow, we are going to spend some time on the islands. I can't wait, they look so beautiful", he said dreamily. The waitress arrived with their food as they began to eat. "That sounds lovely. You did bring your hiking boots?", asked Natalya. "Yeah, that's the one exercise I like, I'm much too lazy. Mom used to send me this Catholic day camp where they'd take the kids camping and hiking and stuff. I still know how to start a fire and set up a tent, it might come in handy sometime", he said. "That is good to know, Shane. I do remember walking in the woods near my home when I was a girl, the church also sponsored a camp. I remember camping in the woods, us girls were scared because we thought there were bears there. It was just the wind, but we so scared because the counselor told us scary stories", said Natalya, laughing at the memory. "Man, I haven't heard a good scary story in years. I gotta take you camping one day, lalka. You're gonna love it", he said, as they continued to eat. |

That chapter was indeed very sweet. But my idea of camping is having to stay at the Holiday Inn. I like kayaking and shit, but no tent for me when the day of outdoorness is over. I like my fluffy hotel room. Awesome!!

This is the town they arrive in: Bodo And this is the Midnight Sun: Midnight Sun Chapter 123 The train arrived at Bodo several hours later. It came to a stop at the small station near the water, all of the passengers getting off at the platform. The sun was still shining as brightly as midday, the intensity startling after being in the train. Natalya flipped the sunglasses over her eyes to cut the glare. "Moj Bog, the sun is so bright, and it is five o'clock. Is the Midnight Sun this bright?", she asked. "I heard it's a bit dimmer, but still bright. Let's go to the hotel and rest up for a bit", he said. Shane took their bags and led them towards the hotel. Bodo was a small, rather modern place, almost all the buildings made of concrete spread out on a peninsula. A slight breeze came from the fjord, cooling the surprisingly warm air, not feeling like they were above the Arctic Circle. The Thor Hotel Nordlep was a sleek, modern hotel near the harbor. Its concrete exterior was a soft dove grey, which contrasted with the pots of geraniums and marigolds adorning the entrance. The lobby was done in dark pine wood and green velvet, stuffed brown velvet couches in front of an empty brick fireplace. A reindeer head hung above the fireplace, its cool glassy eyes staring at them. Behind a long pine desk, the desk clerk looked up and smiled when he saw them. "Hvordan ma jeg hyelp de?", he asked politely. "Reservations under Burton", he said. The clerk typed the information into the computer and handed them their keys. "God dag and I hope you enjoy your stay here", he said, speaking with a heavy accent. Shane nodded and led them upstairs. The hallway was done like the lobby, all pine wood and green velvet. In fact, it reminded him of a hunting lodge. "I'm expecting to see some dude in camo to come out with a shotgun. Oh well, better than your daddy", he joked, as they entered the room. It was as rustic as the rest of the hotel, with its hard pine wood floor and bed, a green silk canopy over it and a rich green comforter and pillows on top. The floor creaked softly under their feet, the subtle aroma of pine hanging in the air. Natalya pouted when she saw there was no Jacuzzi in the bathroom. Shane chuckled and embraced her, kissing the top of her head. "Don't sweat it, baby doll. We still have the bed and there's the shower. I guess it's not very practical to have a Jacuzzi here", he shrugged. Natalya loosened her braid and brushed her hair, looking at herself in the mirror. The sunlight from the window fell on her blond hair, bringing out the gold. Shane stood behind her and ran his fingers through the golden mass. Natalya leaned against him and purred in delight as his lean fingers massaged her scalp. "You have such beautiful hair, lalka", he murmured, gently brushing her hair aside. He smiled to himself when her pulse jumped under his touch. "Shane, we just got here", she whispered, biting back a moan as he bit her throat, his tongue licking the tiny wound. "We can rest for a bit, lalka", he chuckled, taking her in his arms and carrying her over to the bed. Shane kissed her as they undressed each other, their clothes landing on the floor... Natalya lay back against the pillows, breathing heavily and her heartbeat slowly returning to normal. "You said you wanted to rest, Shane", she gasped. He chuckled slyly and stroked her thigh. "You liked it too, baby doll. And I bet you feel better now. Let's try out the shower", he teased, leading her into the bathroom. |

No Jacuzzi??? Holy shit! How the fuck can Shanetalya stay in such primitive conditions????? I'm kidding....Just fucking with ya. That chapter rocked. That Midnight Sun looks pretty cool, but I would probably have a very hard time falling alseep, since even without the sun shining I'm nocturnal. |

Chapter 124 "Since the boat leaves at three in the afternoon, we ought to have some fun tonight", said Shane. "We do have a reservation on the island?", asked Natalya. "Yeah, we get off on the ferry and go right in", he replied. They had emerged from the bathroom and were getting dressed to go out for dinner. Natalya examined her reflection in the mirror, carefully applying makeup. She wore a simple black dress that fell to her knees, held up by thin spaghetti straps. Her blond hair was swept off her face and held in place with a black comb, revealing her pretty face. Shane combed his hair and buttoned his shirt, taking one last look in the mirror. He wore gray slacks and a white shirt, his auburn hair falling to his shoulders. "You look gorgeous, lalka. Shall we go?", he asked, gallantly offering her his arm. "Of course, Shane", she giggled. They walked downstairs arm in arm. Outside, it was still brilliantly bright, the sun hanging high in the sky. It reflected onto the still waters of the harbor, causing them to put on their sunglasses. The air was surprisingly warm for being above the Arctic Circle, the temperature about seventy degrees. People were walking down the streets and near the harbor, taking advantage of the warm weather and the sunlight. "I hope we can sleep tonight. I don't think the the sun is going to let up at all", muttered Shane. "Tak, the sun here is so bright. But the sun does not rise at all during the winter?", she asked incredulously. "Yeah, it's freezing cold too. No wonder people get wasted during the winter, having no sun must really suck", he replied. They came to a seafood restaurant near the harbor. It was made of dark weathered pine, a terrace overlooking the harbor. The greeter saw them and smiled. "Hvordan ma jeg hyelp de?", he asked. "Table for two, nonsmoking", replied Shane. "Ja, please follow me. Would you like a seat near the window?", he asked, grabbing two menus and leading them inside. Shane took a look outside and shook his head. "No, indoors is fine, thank you", he said politely. The interior was quite dark, made of weathered pine and decorated with fishing nets, lobster traps and other maritime memorabilia. It was about three-quarters full with diners, the pleasant sound of their voices hanging in the air. He led them to a table in a dark corner and handed them the menus. "Your waiter will be here shortly", he said, discreetly leaving. "Would you like some wine, lalka?" he asked. "Tak, but what do they have?", she asked. "Well, all they have is whites and and some rose. Do you want beer instead? Norwegians make some pretty strong beer", he teased. Natalya gave him a look, an amused gleam in her blue eyes. "Shane, you know I am no weakling when it comes to beer. Us Polish can hold our alcohol", she boasted. "Is that so, baby doll? Let's see", he chuckled. The waiter arrived and took their orders, arriving several minutes later with their beers. Two glasses of rich golden beer were set before them, tiny bubbles rising to the top of the glass. Shane lifted his mug and saluted her, taking a gulp of beer. Natalya drank her own beer, feeling the fresh crisp taste of the amber liquid roll over her tongue. "I know, this is good stuff. We gotta stop off at a liquor store and get some beer", he said. "Of course, is it surprising? After all, your uncles used to be called Alcoholica", she teased. "I know, and I'm part Scot and part Pole, it's in the genes, baby doll", he joked. The waiter arrived with their food as they began to eat. Shane had to smile as she worked on her second beer in between bites of food. Hungry little vixen, I want her for dessert, he thought, a slow smile forming on his lips. After they finished, Shane paid for their meal and offered her his arm. "Follow me, baby doll", he murmured. He led them further down the street to the liquor store. The sun was as bright as ever, showing no signs of letting up. People were still walking outside, the air warm as ever. Shane looked curiously at the shelves inside the store. Even though the store was rather small, it was well-stocked with all sorts of vodka, aquavit and schnapps, six packs of beer inside the freezer case. They bought one bottle of peach schnapps, another bottle of vodka and a six pack of strong beer. Shane paid for the drinks and as they went back to the hotel. "Are we not going to get a hangover?", she asked. "Just pace yourself, baby doll. If there's leftovers, we can take it on the boat, I'm not sure if there's any liquor stores on the islands", he said reassuringly, entering the hotel room. |

Chapter 125 Natalya tossed and turned in her sleep. Even with her eyes closed and the shades drawn tight, she could still see the sun outside the window. The blinking red lights of the clock red three A.M, her mind barely able to comprehend this. This is crazy, three in the morning and the sun is still out. How can anyone sleep like this?, she wondered. Shane rolled over and opened his eyes, a knowing smile on his lips. "Can't sleep, baby doll? Don't blame you, it's weird to have sunlight at this hour", he chuckled. "Should I have another drink?", she asked. "No, because you'll get a hangover, we both had plenty to drink last night. Relax", he murmured. Shane took her into his arms and kissed her, silencing her protests. Natalya moaned against his lips as her arms went around his neck. He murmured his approval, his tongue darting between her lips as she touched her tongue with his. "I know how you can sleep better, baby doll", he murmured, a gleam in his blue eyes. Shane kissed her again and slipped the thin satin nightgown off her body, leaving her nude under his gaze. In the dim light of the room and with her hair loose, she resembled a princess, her golden hair like a halo around her. "You're so beautiful", he whispered, cupping her breasts in his hands. The nipples hardened instantly at his touch, earning a soft moan from her. Shane bent his head and took one of the hardened pink tips into his mouth. Natalya mewled softly with pleasure as his lips and tongue caressed her nipple, grazing at it with the edge of his teeth. She clutched onto his hair, moaning as he feasted on her soft flesh. Shane buried his face in her breasts, loving the sound of her moans and gasps. His hand moved lower to stroke her thigh, as she parted her legs eagerly. "Bad girl", he chuckled, stroking her aroused flesh. Natalya gasped at the sensation, all feeling centered on her breasts and between her legs. The coil of heat in her belly grew ever tighter, her arousal burning at a fever pitch. She growled with lust when he let go of her breasts and removed his fingers. "Cholera ty, Shane! Ty swinia!", she gasped. He chuckled and quickly kissed her lips. "I'm no bastard, lalka. Just you wait", he murmured, removing his shorts and rejoining her on the bed. Shane took her into his arms and kissed her, his tongue parting her lips. While they kissed, Shane parted her legs and entered her body. Natalya moaned against his lips, wrapping her arms around his neck. He growled with approval and thrust into her warm, welcoming body. They moved easily together on the bed, their moans echoing in the room. Shane broke the kiss as he looked into her eyes, smiling at the desire and love in them. "I love you", he whispered in her ear. Natalya clung to his shoulders, feeling close to her peak. The coil of heat grew ever tighter, feeling as though it would burst. Her vision splintered into a million tiny pieces as she cried out his name. Shane groaned in relief, thrusting one last time into her body and releasing into her warmth. They lay in each other's arms, sweaty and exhausted. Shane buried his face in her hair, savoring the feel and scent of her soft skin and golden hair. "I'm sure that was better than vodka", he cracked. Natalya playfully punched his arm. "Tak, Shane. Now we will try to sleep, in spite of that sun. Dobranoc", she said. "Good night, baby doll", he said, kissing her lips. |
