So the jounrey continues. :nanner: Hooray!!! This could get very interesting. I was so swept away in Shanetalya's romance that I forgot that they were originally out to find Shane's evil grandfather. I hope he doesn't give Shane and Natalya any bullshit. They don't deserve it.

Keep Rocking!!! :horns:

I, too, forgot all about the reason for their trip! I hope Shane's grandfather doesn't cause too much drama. He's done enough damage to that family.

Chapter 130

"Bye, you two. Hope you get to Nordkapp safe and sound", said Jens.

They were all standing on the deck, Natalya and Shane were getting ready to board. It was 7:30 in the evening, yet the sun shone as bright as midday, dimming only a little. The massive white Hurtigrute ferry sat on the dock, passengers getting ready to board.

"Yeah, we got a long-ass ride in front of us. At least we're taking the scenic route", replied Shane, a twinkle in his blue eyes.

The ship's whistle tooted as the passengers boarded. "We'll arrive in Honnigsvag in two days, from there we go to Nordkapp. I wanna send Mom and Kitty a postcard, that'll be so rad. And we got a cabin, if we're gonna spend two days on a ship, might as well be comfortable", he chuckled slyly.

"Tak, Shane. You are insatiable, nie? But the ship is full, I do not want to disturb anyone", she chided.

"Don't worry, baby doll. I bet everyone who's got a cabin is doing the same thing. This'll be much nicer than the bus, the scenery is better", he said, leading them downstairs to the cabins.

It was similar to the previous one, except it was slightly larger and the comforter was in dark green. "Not bad, let's go on deck", he said, dropping the bags by the bed.

The ship had already left the dock, the island receding from view. The people on shore grew smaller until they were gone, then the town and finally the island, only the peaks of the mountains visible above the horizon.

It headed north via the Vesteralen Islands, the gentle green land a contrast to the mountains of the Lofoten. The ship passed through a narrow straight between the islands and the mainland, the shores so close it felt as though you could touch them.

"Don't worry, lalka. The ship can't hit the shore", he said reassuringly, smiling at the amazed look on her face.

"Tak, I know that, Shane. But that shore is so close, I do wonder", she said.

"Let's get something to eat", he said, leading her into the cafeteria. It was mostly empty, most of the other passengers on deck or in their cabins. The serving woman smiled at them and served their food, as they found an empty seat.

"How do we get to Ostersund from Nordkapp?", she asked, taking a bite of her herring.

"There's a small airport in Honnigsvag, we're flying to Gallivare and taking the train to Ostersund. Yes lalka, there is an airport that far north. Nordkapp is a popular tourist attraction, quite a few planes land there. It's a small plane, an SAS carrier. That little airport is quite busy, we booked the flight before we left. It's either that or backtrack to Narvik and take the train, it's a lot faster this way", he explained.

"Oh, I see. But what will you do if you see your grandfather?", she asked.

Shane took a bite of his meatball, chewing thoughtfully. "I don't know, baby doll. I just might kick his ass for how he treated Mom and Dad. But Uncle James said to never hit someone older than you, it's not fair. I don't know, I just might not kick his ass", he laughed sardonically.

Shane likes to eat.  He's always eating...and doing other things.

I really hope that Shane's grandfather isn't a total prick toad. It's funny why he's turning up now of all times. I loved what James said about never hitting anyone older than you. James is a brilliant dude.

Love this story!!

Off to google all of these new locations! I love learning about all these cool places. I never wanted to go to Scandinvia before, but now I really really do. The whole idea of it being so far north it's above the Arctic circle fascinates me. I have a weird obsession with the top and bottom of the globe.

This is Nordkapp: Nordkapp

Chapter 131

Two days later on a pleasant August morning, they arrived at the village of Honnigsvag. It was barely a village, just one street lined with weathered wooden buildings and a dock, a tour bus waiting alongside the dock to take people to Nordkapp.

Shane led t hem on board the bus and put their bags on the overhead rank. "The bus is going to Nordkapp, we'll go to the airport later, we'll arrive in Gallivare this afternoon", said Shane.

"I hope this is worth it", replied Natalya, as the bus drove off.

Barely a minute later, the bus had left the town. Outside the town was nothing but rocks and tundra, the ground a dull gray and covered with moss and lichen. Stray reindeer grazed on the hardy plants, watched by Sami herders and their dogs. The fiercely bright sunlight glared on the still waters off the fjord, almost blinding in its intensity.

The bus crossed a bridge from the mainland to the Mageroya Island, the big hunk of rock floating in the sea. They passed several scraggly villages and numerous herds of reindeer, the placid bovine animals barely noticing them. A few other cars were on the road, but the way was empty except for other tour buses.

They finally stopped at the northern edge of the island at the visitor's center. It was a large stone building carved into the rock itself, a statue of King Oscar II outside.

Everyone got off the bus as the driver parked in the lot and closed the door, taking off his seatbelt and closing his eyes to take a nap. "We had to go inside the visitor's center, oh well, we got time", said Shane.

The building was a huge complex with restaurants, cafe', souvenir shops a post office and a theater showing movies about the cape. Natalya perused the displays of jewelry in the gift shop, while Shane looked at the books. "This looks cool, it might come in handy", he chuckled, flipping through a Swedish phrasebook.

"I'm sure your grandfather still speaks English", she teased.

"Eh, you never know. Get whatever you want, lalka", he said.

Natalya bought a thin silver necklace. On it hung a silver pendant with a large green stone, opaque and a pleasant grayish-green color like the sea off the Lofoten Islands. "I like it, it's unusual but nice", he said approvingly.

They went into the post office and mailed their postcards. Shane sent cards to the his mother and Catriona and his uncles, while Natalya sent hers to her father. "They will arrive back to your families within a week", said the mailman.

A tunnel under the complex led out towards the cape itself. The darkness of the tunnel gave way to the brightness of the day, causing them to put on their sunglasses.

They stood on the very edge of the rock, along with a few other tourists. The large black rock jutted out from the cape, a sheer drop to the icy blue water below. A cool wind blew in their faces, the western part of the island visible from the eastern edge. On the northern edge, they could see nothing but endless seas, not a speck of land to be seen.

Natalya took pictures as Shane became thoughtful. I never been this far before, this is something. It does feel like the edge of the world, he mused.

Here's another chapter for you ladies :) And this is the town where they land: Gallivare

Chapter 132

"Please fasten your seat belts, we will arrive at Gallivare in two hours", said the pilot, repeating the instructions in Swedish.

Shane put down his book and fastened his seat belt, as Natalya followed suit. The airport at Honnigsvag was surprisingly large and modern, several planes parked on the runway. Their own plane was an SAS flight to Gallivare, Sweden, one of the smaller planes in the fleet, seating about 100 people. It was three-quarters full, mostly Swedes and Finns headed further south.

The plane taxied onto the runway and got into position. After the pilot received the signal, the plane accelerated and took off, leaving the airport behind.

Natalya looked out the window, watching as the town and the airport were left behind. The black outcropping of the Nordkapp was left far behind, looking as though it would fall into the sea.

The flight was uneventful, the plane landing in Gallivare in northern Sweden two hours later. The passengers filed out of the plane and went through customs, emerging into the small passenger lounge. It consisted of a large plain room with plastic chairs, several people waiting for friends or family members to arrive.

A bus outside took them to the town itself. It was not a pretty place, all concrete buildings in a boxy style surrounding a square. Surrounding the town itself was tundra, the dull green grass looking like Astroturf. Further afield was the iron mine, a steady plume of smoke belching from below the ground.

"I know this place is ugly, but we leave for Ostersund tomorrow. We're staying at the Grand Hotel Lapland, after the boat, we deserve a nice place", he chuckled.

Their hotel was an imposing buildings just off the square. The plants outside were artificial, though, as most plants did not grow well in this climate.

Shane grabbed their bags and led them inside. It was done like a hunting lodge, all dark browns and tawny amber. Over the large fireplace was a stuffed reindeer head, it's glassy eyes staring blankly at them

"Reservations under Burton", he told the clerk.

"Ja, here you go", he said, handing them the keys.

Shane nodded and led her upstairs to their room. The hallway was also done in brown and amber, the carpet in dark green. He opened the door as Natalya flopped down on the bed, her eyes drooping in exhaustion.

"I understand, baby doll. Just relax, we got time. It must've been exhausting today", he said. She nodded mutely and immediately fell asleep, her soft snores the only sound in the room.

Shane kissed her cheek and went to the bathroom. After a quick shower, he went back to the room. Natalya was still fast asleep, her blond hair tangled around her shoulders and her body shaking with each breath. He climbed in beside her, taking her into his arms as her head rested on his shoulder. "Sleep well, baby doll", he murmured, kissing her cheek and closing his eyes.

By now, I'd probably be getting tired too. Shanetalya has done a hell of a lot of traveling. Gottal ove the Grand Hotel. :dance

I can't imagine living anywhere where real plants don't grow. I would miss all the green. That's what happened when I was in Colorado and Arizona. I really missed the color green.

Can't wait to read what's up next for Shanetalya. :)

Chapter 133

Natalya woke up several hours later. She smiled when she saw Shane asleep, his face buried in her hair. His eyes were closed and his breathing even, a slight smile on his lips. He looks so cute, she thought, trying to stifle a giggle.

Shane stirred in his sleep, his eyes fluttering open. "Well hello there. Is that an angel I see, or am I in heaven?", he drawled, his blue eyes sparkling.

Natalya giggled, a pink flush on her cheeks. "Nie, Shane. You are such a charmer, you naughty boy. What time is it?", she asked.

"It's six o'clock, baby doll. Why don't you get dressed and we'll get something to eat", he suggested.

Natalya leaned over and kissed his lips. "Tak, Shane. Just be patient, you know how us ladies are", she teased, going to the bathroom.

Shane chuckled and grabbed the remote, turning on the TV. He idly flipped through the channels, trying to find something to watch. All the channels were local, showing programs in Swedish. He did come across the Price is Right dubbed into Swedish. It was hilarious when Bob Barker announced the correct price in Swedish, his lips not syncing up to the words.

"Man, this is dumb as fuck", he cracked.

Natalya left the bathroom, raising an eyebrow as he laughed. "Tak, what is so funny?", she demanded. Her eyes lit up when she saw the show. "Moj Bog, that is so funny. That is like those Godzilla movies I saw as a child, it was dubbed into Polish. That was so horrible", she giggled.

"Oh man, that must've really sucked. Me and Kitty used to watch those, they are horrible. But they're funny as hell if you're stoned, maybe we ought to try it", he laughed.

Natalya quickly got dressed and they left the hotel. Shane looked admiringly at her, his eyes raking over her body. She wore slim jeans and a pink blouse, her blond hair loose to her shoulders and the faintest of makeup on her face.

"You look good enough to eat, baby doll", he drawled, leading them to an Irish pub, the Kilkenny. Outside, was a drab concrete building indistinguishable from the other buildings on the block; inside, it was a traditional Irish pub. It was dark and cool inside, the wooden floor covered in sawdust and the walls covered with Guinness posters. A long bar on the right had several stools in front, a shelf of liquor bottles standing at attention like soldiers. Presiding over the bar was a fat jolly man in an apron and short sleeves, wiping a mug with a towel. The pub was half-full, most of the people drinking beer or watching the soccer game on the TV.

They sat down at a booth as a waitress came over to them. "Ja, what can I get you?", asked the pretty blond waitress, her Swedish accent incongruous in the atmosphere of an Irish pub.

"What are the specials today?", asked Shane.

"We have shepherd's pie with mashed potatoes, the soup of the day is vegetarian chili and we have Guinness, Newcastle Brown, Smithwicks and Beamish on tap", she said.

"Two bowls of chili, one large shepherd's pie. And what do you want to drink?", he asked.

"I will have a pint of Newcastle", she said.

"And I'll have a Guinness", he said.

"I never knew they had an Irish pub this far north", she said.

"Me neither. Between you and I, I'm getting a wee bit tired of Scandinavian food. I've had enough picked herring to last a lifetime", he chuckled.

The jukebox in the corner played Rocky Road to Dublin, her eyes gleaming with amusement. "I didn't know you liked Irish music", he said as the waitress brought their beers.

Natalya took a sip of the rich brown ale, a smile forming on her lips. "One of my cousins went to Dublin for work, he likes Irish music. This is a very funny song", she giggled.

"I'm afraid the only Irish song I know is Whiskey in the Jar because Metallica covered it. You gotta play me some stuff", he said, drinking his Guinness.

They were on their second beers when the shepherd's pie came to the table. Steam rose from a vent in the golden pie crust, the mashed potatoes forming a ring around it. Tempting aromas came from the pie, as he cut up a slice and handed it to her on a plate. "Na zdrowie, baby doll", he said, a twinkle in his blue eyes.

I looked up some photos of that town they are in and it looks so stark, like something I would see in the Soviet Union if I went there way back in the 1980's. I think I like Norway better than Sweden so far, but I know there are a lot of amazing things about Sweden, too (I have a good friend who lives there). Can't wait to "travel" more through this story!!

That food sounds good. The part about the Godzilla movies dubbed in Polish made me laugh. I could certainly wanting to get a break from Scandanavian food. When my friend was in Japan after a week she was really wanting a cheeseburger after a while.

I loved the bit about Irish music. There are some really beautiful Irish songs out there.

Chapter 134

Shane and Natalya stumbled through the door of their room, singing Wild Rover at the top of their lungs. "And it's no, nay never, never no more! No more will I play the Wild Rover, no never, no more!", they sang drunkenly, staggering onto the bed.

"Moj Bog, I hope we did not wake up everyone in the hotel", she giggled.

"I bet there's a lot of drunks here, lalka. I'm sure they don't mind", he chuckled.

Natalya giggled, her blue eyes twinkling with amusement. "The train leaves at what time?", she asked.

"It leaves at noon, we'll go see Mom's dad the next day. I hope I don't kill the bastard", he muttered.

Natalya placed his head in her lap and stroked his hair. "I understand, Shane. But I do want this to be civil, I don't like it when people make scenes", she said.

Shane took her hands in his and gently kissed each of them, putting them to his lips. "Lalka, I won't blow up like that in front of you, Mom raised me better than that, in spite of appearances. I will try to be on my best behavior, but I can't promise anything", he said.

"I see. It's just that you and your mother make him sound like an ogre. But that was terrible what he did, I do not want to dwell on such things, Shane", she whispered.

Shane grabbed her arm and pulled her down on him, cupping her chin and kissing her lips. "I know, baby doll. Let's think about other things", he said, rolling their bodies over so she was beneath him.

He kissed her again as his hands moved under her blouse, removing her bra. The hard tips of her nipples poked through the fabric of her blouse, as he undid the buttons. The shirt fell gently to the floor as her breasts were exposed to him.

Natalya mewled softly in delight as his lips fastened onto a breast, his long hair tickling her skin. His lips and tongue caressed the hardened little tips, her hands clutching onto his hair as she made soft sounds of delight. She moaned loudly when he took a nipple into his mouth and suckled on it greedily like a babe, the edge of his teeth against the hard peak sending shivers through her.

Shane gave each nipple one final kiss and unbuttoned her jeans, sliding them down her legs. "You are overdressed, Shane"', she giggled, running her fingers under his shirt to caress his chest. She removed his shirt and planted tiny kisses on his throat and down his chest, gently biting each nipple.

"Lay down, Shane", she murmured huskily. He followed her instructions as she stroked the bulge in front of his jeans. Shane let out a groan, smiling like a hungry wolf when she unzipped his jeans, removing them from his body. She giggled when she saw he didn't wear underwear. "Zly chlopiec, Shane", she said, a gleam in her blue eyes. He tried to chuckled but could only groan when she kissed the head of his erection and took him into her mouth.

"Oh yeah, lalka", he groaned, stroking her hair as she took him into her mouth. Natalya moaned around him, feeling him thrust into her mouth. She could hear his gasps and moans in her ears, running her tongue over the tip and across his length.

Shane gasped in pleasure as she worked on him, thrusting into her warm, wet mouth. He almost went wild as her tongue ran over the tip, the muscles in his stomach becoming ever more taut.

Just as he was about to come, Natalya released him from her mouth. "Why'd you do that for?", he gasped, the lust in his voice turning his eyes almost black.

She leaned down and kissed his lips, settling down on his lap. Shane grasped her hips and moaned in relief as she sank her body onto his erection. Her eyes widened in delight as she slid all the way down onto him, filling her completely.

"Ride me, baby doll", he urged. Natalya moved her hips, cooing in delight when she felt him slide an extra inch. She took his advice and rode him as he grasped her hips, moving up and down on his erection. Shane looked up into her face, her eyes closed and a smile on her lips as she moved on him, soft moans of pleasure escaping her lips. His hands reached up to cup her breasts, the hard nipples taut against his palms.

Shane could feel her tighten around him, feeling close to his own peak. Natalya closed her eyes and bit her lip, cursing in Polish as she came. He held her tightly as he thrust one last time into her body, releasing into her warmth.

Natalya sighed raggedly as she collapsed against him. Shane took her into his arms and stroked her hair, kissing her nose. "That was great, baby doll. But we gotta get some rest for the trip tomorrow", he gasped.

"Shane, you do not beat around the bush, tak? Very well, I am sure we will sleep very well tonight", she giggled, kissing his lips.
