VERY clever with the Polish :) :) I only know how to say "fuck" in Italian. My mother used it when I was growing up, thinking I had no idea what she meant. HA.

"So that makes you a redheaded drunk with a temper who's totally organized, likes to fight and knows how to romance the ladies?", she teased.

That made me laugh so hard. My aunt is part german, and she has everything, and I mean everything organized. The garden is always neat, the house is always clean. And if you walk to the streets in germany (especially in small villages and around a national holiday) every house and garden are spotless
The update was great, I like them talking polish, Though I don't understand a word of it

Thank you, ladies :) I have Polish friends and the grammar's the same as English, so it's not too hard. And this is where Kitty and the band go:

Acropolis
Parthenon

Chapter 228

"Dave, do your bandmates know about us?", she asked nervously.

"Of course, they know you were once with Andrew, but it's known in the metal community that he's fucked up. They don't about the menage a trois, they do know you're my girlfriend. Don't worry, they'll be gentlemen or I'll kick their asses", he cracked.

"I hope you won't resort to that", she teased.

Truth be told, Catriona was a lot more nervous than she'd let on. I hope they don't think Dave's robbing the cradle, or that I'm too young, she fretted, taking a quick look in the mirror. She was dressed casually in jeans and a HIM shirt, her auburn hair in a loose braid down her back.

"You look great, Kitty", he said reassuringly, as they went downstairs.

The rest of the band was waiting for them in the lobby. "So Dave, you finally decided to show us your lady", laughed James, his Brooklyn accent hanging in the air.

"Guys, this is my girlfriend Kitty. Kitty, these assholes are Shawn Drover, James Lomenzo and Chris Broderick, otherwise known as Megadeth", said Dave.

They all shook hands and smiled. "Very glad to meet you all", she said graciously.

"You too, Kitty. Dave, I could hear you guys last night, I hope it's not going to be like this on the bus", joked Chris, as they both blushed.

"Too much information, let's get some breakfast and go to the Acropolis before the crowds come", said Shawn.

An hour later, the group was at the foot of the Acropolis. Above them loomed the plateau that commanded views of the city, the center of ancient Athens. A small line of tourists waited for the gates to open, the olive trees shading the path.

"This feels so odd, it's so ancient", she whispered, feeling the goosebumps form on her arms.

"I know, it's dedicated to Athena, right?", asked James.

"Yeah, Athena was the patron goddess of Athens. She won the title from Poseidon after she gave the Athenians the olive tree", she explained.

"I read about that in the Iliad. I prefer the Odyssey myself, but they're both good. My favorite part was Lotus-Land, when I read that I was really into eating hash and I thought it was hash", said Dave.

"They made us read that in school, it was boring as hell, it was in poem form translated from Latin. It made no sense whatsoever", said James.

"I haven't read it yet", said Chris shyly.

"Me neither", said Shawn.

The gates opened and the people made their way inside up the path. Past the Propylaia, the ruined entrance, and the tiny boxy temple of Athena Nike lay the temple complex of the Acropolis. The buff marble of the Parthenon and the Erechtheion were in ruins but they still held on to a bit of their grandeur.

"Do not get too close to the buildings and don't touch anything, the marble is fragile", warned the tour guide.

Catriona stood in front of the Parthenon with her camera. From the front, it still looked grand and imposing, the premier temple of Athena. It was easy to ignore the the missing columns of the sides and the missing roof and tiles, to concentrate on its previous glory.

"I know, Kitty. It would be awesome to see Athens under Pericles at its height", said Dave, putting a hand on her shoulders.

"Yeah", she replied, a thoughtful dreamy expression on her face.

Chapter 229

Megadeth were at their soundcheck at the theater that evening. Catriona observed them as Dave checked his guitar, playing a few chords and nodding in satisfaction that it was in tune.

She couldn't help but feel a frisson of excitement as the band set up. The hall buzzed with excitement and anticipation as the roadies set up up the equipment, like a hive of bees making nectar.

Dave took off his guitar and handed it to a roadie. It was one of the his new Dean signature guitars, a Flying V with a deep maroon body painted with angel wings, the Angel of Deth guitar. He looked up and smiled when he saw her, walking over to her. "The guitars are all in tune, everything sounds good so far. The show's not for another two hours, can you feel it?", he asked eagerly.

Catriona smiled at his enthusiasm. "I know that feeling too, it's in the air. Does it ever get old?", she asked.

"Sometimes when you've been touring for months and you're exhausted, you just want to go home. But when you see those crowds out there wanting to see you, it's like an adrenalin shot. I've played thousands of shows and I still get excited", he mused aloud.

"Are the other guys cool that I'm here?", she blurted out.

"Of course, you're a great girl, Kitty. But their wives and kids can't join us until we reach Finland, Eastern Europe isn't the best place for kids. It's going to be like a big family reunion", he said reassuringly.

Catriona looked at him, a hesitant smile on her lips. "That's great, I hope there's some girls I can to. Don't take this the wrong way, but there's things us girls need to talk about that men aren't privy too", she said coyly.

"Oh, I gotcha. But what about the last tour?", he asked, raising an eyebrow.

"Perttu and Antsa are sort of like girls", she replied, a saucy gleam in her eyes.

"Nice one, Kitty. I can't wait until the kids come on tour, Justis is bringing along Teresa. I'm surprised her daddy let her go, and I'm surprised he didn't kick his ass. Must be the Mustaine charm at work", he chuckled.

"Perhaps, Dave. Justis is definitely your son. Hopefully he won't compromise her, her dad seems like the protective type", she chided.

"Kitty, Justis is a good kid, I raised him better than that. And do you want to surprise the audience?", he asked.

"Of course", she said, kissing his cheek.

I liked Dave talking about performing. The crowd in the theatre, venue, room, whatever can really make all the difference between a bored performance, and one that's really great. Sometimes I feel that the crowd is almost as resposibile as the performer. I wonder if Perttu and Antsa and Kitty will take Electra shopping while on tour.

Good luck on the interview Vanessa!! You're smart, well read, and a good writer. They are going to love you!

I hope so too, ladies :)

Chapter 230

There was a feeling of excitement in the hall that night. The crowd in the old movie theater buzzed with anticipation, waiting to see Megadeth perform. The audience ranged from middle-aged longhairs in vintage 80's metal shirts to goth teenagers and punk kids.

Just then, the houselights dimmed and the video screen showed the album cover of Surrender the Universe. It depicted Vic Rattlehead in a dapper suit grinning maniacally as the solar system imploded, bits of rock hurtling through the air.

Dave strode confidently towards center stage, the intensity in his eyes turning them brown. He looked imposing in tight black jeans and a black shirt with the top buttons undone, his long red hair gleaming like molten copper under the lights.

Without further adieu, the band launched into Skin O My Teeth. The pit immediately started the minute the first note boomed from the amplifiers, arms and legs flying about like so much driftwood:

I had wrists donning slits
Flowing constantly
My broken body in a wreck
Wrapped around a tree
A crosswalk hit-and-run
The finish line for me
People clutter in the gutter
Take a look and see

No escaping pain
You belong to me
Clinging on to life
By the skin of my teeth

My blood flows through the streets
Deluge from the wounds
Empty jars of sleeping pills
On the dresser of my room
My wet-brained neighbor cranes
His neck to see
In time the white light's a train
Bearing down on me

No escaping pain
You belong to me
Clinging on to life
By the skin of my teeth

I won't feel the hurt
I'm not trash any longer
That, that doesn't kill me
Only makes me stronger
I need a ride to the morgue
That's what 911 is for
So tag my toe and don't forget
To close the drawer

No escaping pain
You belong to me
Clinging on to life
By the skin of my teeth

"How are you doing tonight, Athens? Ti kaneis, kalinychta. We have a surprise here for you tonight, I want you all to be gentlemen, please welcome Miss Catriona Burton", he said.

Catriona took a breath and walked confidently onstage. She was dressed casually in jeans and a purple Nightwish shirt, her auburn hair loose to her waist. Even in the simple clothes, she still had an aura of sexiness and allure that drew all eyes to her. Dave smiled reassuringly at her as they played Promises, the ballad causing the audience to hush and listen quietly:

Two hearts that shouldn't
Talk to each other become close
In a town much like a prison cell

People speak our names
On the street in hushed tones
Oh the stories they'd tell
If anyone would listen

You come from a town where
People don't bother saying hello
Unless somebody's born or dies

And I come from a place where they
Drag your hopes through the mud
Because their own dreams are all dying

And when we walk down the street
The wind sings our name in rebel songs
The sounds of the night should make us anxious
But it's much to late when the fear is gone

I will meet you in the Next Life, I promise you
Where we can be together, I promise you
I will wait till then in Heaven, I promise you
I promise, I promise

There's so many fighting
To get past the Pearly Gates
But nobody ever wants to die or get saved

Their intentions aren't that good
And I can smell the asphalt
That's their personal road to hell being paved

And when we walk down the street
The wind sings our name in rebel songs
But it's much to late when the fear is gone

I will meet you in the Next Life, I promise you
Where we can be together, I promise you
I will wait till then in Heaven, I promise you
I promise, I promise

I will meet you in the Next Life, I promise you
Where we can be together, I promise you
I will wait till then in Heaven, I promise you
I promise, I promise

Immediately afterwards, the band segued into Tout Le Monde, the upbeat number instantly raising everyone's spirits. Catriona sang beautifully, her glorious soprano a perfect fit for both songs. Dave tried not to smile at how well she sang, a smile threatening to break on his face:

Don't remember where I was
I realized life was a game
The more seriously I took things
The harder the rules became
I had no idea what it'd cost
My life passed before my eyes
I found out how little I accomplished
All my plans denied

So as you read this know my friends
I'd love to stay with you all
Please smile when you think of me
My body's gone that's all

À tout le monde, à tout mes amis
Je vous aime, je dois partir
These are the last words I'll ever speak
And they'll set me free

If my heart was still alive
I know it would surely break
And my memories left with you
There's nothing more to say
Moving on is a simple thing

What it leaves behind is hard
You know the sleeping feel no more pain
And the living all are scarred

À tout le monde, à tout mes amis
Je vous aime, je dois partir
These are the last words I'll ever speak
And they'll set me free

So as you read this know my friends
I'd love to stay with you all
Please smile, smile when you think about me
My body's gone that's all

À tout le monde, à tout mes amis
Je vous aime, je dois partir
These are the last words I'll ever speak
And they'll set me free

"Give it up for Miss Burton", he said, as she took a bow. His eyes met hers as he winked at her. "Later", he mouthed.
