Chapter 240 It was nearly dawn when Catriona woke up. The pale early morning light filtered through the interior of the bus, bathing the inside with a pale pink light. She noticed the bus stopped and put on her robe, getting out of the bunk. The bus was parked behind the arena, somewhere in suburban Krakow. Around them were concrete buildings in the suburbs. We're in the suburbs of Krakow, the city itself is a lot nicer. I hope we can do some sightseeing later, she mused. Catriona found her towel and a bottle of shampoo, going into the bathroom. It was a small place with a tiny sink, a medicine cabinet, a toilet and a narrow shower smaller than a broom closet. She finished brushing her teeth and stepped into the shower, sighing as the the warm water hit her body... Dave stirred in his sleep, his eyes fluttering open. His eyes flew open in shock when he heard the shower running, a smile forming on his lips. Of course she's in the shower, dumbass. What else do you think she's doing? Let me see if she wants company, he chuckled to himself. Dave got out of his bunk and went to the bathroom. He smiled in delight when he heard her singing, recognizing Higher than Hope by Nightwish, her glorious soprano making his heart flutter. He could see her body silhouetted against the shower curtain, the warm water and fragrance of roses making him weak in the knees. Dave quickly undressed and pulled back the curtain to join her in the tub. Catriona heard the curtain open, stopping her song. Her heart skipped a beat when she saw Dave in the shower with her, a knowing smile on her face. "Dave, you know better than to sneak into the shower. Haven't you seen Psycho?", she chided. "I know, I just wanted to surprise you, Kitty. You smell like roses", he murmured, his lips nuzzling her throat. "It's the shampoo", she whispered, biting back a moan as he cupped her breasts. The soft pink flesh was warm and rosy from her shower, her nipples already hard. Dave buried his face in her hair and inhaled the intoxicating scent of her hair, his hands toying with her breasts. "Let me wash you, Dave", she said, wriggling out of his gasp. Catriona grabbed the sponge and slathered a generous portion of body wash onto the sponge. Dave growled softly as she washed his body, her tough setting his senses aflame. "Kitty, you are tormenting me", he growled. Catriona grinned saucily at him and gently kissed his lips. She just winked at him before getting on her knees and taking him into her mouth. Dave's eyes widened in surprise as he thrust into her mouth, hearing her moan around him. "Fuck Kitty", he groaned, clutching onto her auburn hair as she pleasured him. Catriona ran her tongue over the head, reaching between her legs to play with herself. Dave breathed heavily and continued thrusting into her mouth, watching as she played with herself. Without a word, he gently pushed her mouth off him and bought her to her feet. He kissed her and parted her legs, thrusting into her body. Catriona returned the kiss and wrapped a leg around his waist, her tongue plundering his mouth. Dave wrapped his arms around her waist and thrust into her body, relishing the warmth of her body. She moaned against his lips, feeling her peak close at hand. The feeling hit her as it spread throughout her body, gasping his name against his lips. Dave stiffened and released into her warmth, lifting his lips from hers and burying his face in her neck. "Dave, the shower's cold", she giggled. "My bad, Kitty. I hope we didn't wake the others. That was a nice way to wake up", he chuckled, turning off the water and helping her out of the shower. I'm going to be busy this morning, I'll see if I can update the others later. |

If Dave had snuck up on me in the shower I would have had a heart attack. But for a good reason.

This is the city they're in: Krakow And this is the district of Krakow they're in: Stare Miasto (Old Town) Chapter 241 "Remember, we got the soundcheck at the Krolik at six, the show's at nine. You've got the morning and afternoon to do whatever, but we get on the bus and go to Warsaw after the show", said Matt. "We know that, dude. Let us sleep already", said James, as Shawn and Chris nodded in agreement. "Where do you want to go, Kitty?", he asked, a gleam in his eyes. "There's a lot of sights in the Old Town, some museums and churches. Since Krakow was the the capital before Warsaw, there's a lot of historical stuff", she replied. "Okay, but be at the venue by six", said Matt. "First, let's get some breakfast", she said, frowning when she found a package of generic coffee and a box of strawberry Pop-Tarts in the pantry. "The fridge has some milk and snacks, no real breakfast food. We're used to stopping at McDonald's or whatever for breakfast", said Dave sheepishly. "That's all right, I suppose you don't want food to spoil", she said kindly. "I'll call a cab for you", said Matt, opening his mobile. Half an hour later, Dave and Catriona were seated at a table outside a cafe in the Old Town of Krakow. The Old Town, or Stare Miasto, as a lovely district of medieval Renaissance and Baroque houses and cobblestone streets. The houses were restored and turned into stores, cafes and galleries. Shoppers and tourists looked into the windows and browsed the displays, or sat at the cafes drinking coffee and eating pastries. Dave observed the scene. "This is nice, it reminds me a bit of Paris, like Montmarte. There's these little cafes like this, the people are more fashionable, though", he said thoughtfully. "I've never been to that part of Paris, I've seen the Louvre and the Eiffel Tower, but every tourist sees that. Actually, this reminds me of Vienna", she said. The waiter arrived with their coffee and poured them each a cup, going back inside to get their food. "Luckily you can speak Polish, Kitty. I can't read the damn menu", he chuckled. "Dziekuje, Dave. We're both having apple strudel, eggs and sausage with toast and butter. I hope you don't mind", she said. "Nah, it beats McDonald's", he replied. Catriona added a bit of sugar and cream to her coffee, taking a sip. Her eyes closed in pleasure, a soft purr coming from her lips "When you do that, Kitty, I want to rip your clothes off and fuck you senseless", he hissed. She blushed at his words, her cheeks turning a pretty shade of pink. "This coffee is so good, Dave", she whispered. "I'm just messing with you, Kitty. I like it when girls enjoy their food, it's sexy as hell. What do you recommend we see?", he asked. "There's a lot of churches, the big ones are Wawel Cathedral, the Church of Our Lady, and Church on the Rock. There's also the Royal Castle, Krakow was the capital before Warsaw. Unfortunately, most of the guides are in Polish", she said. "I don't need an English guide, I got you, Kitty. Why did you learn to speak Polish, though? I don't think it comes in handy much", he said. "I guess I've always been fascinated by words. Mom is fluent and I suppose I picked it up from her. It's not very practical, but since I could already speak two languages, it made learning Spanish easier. If I were to learn Italian or something similar, it'll be a cinch", she replied. "That's what I love about you, you are as intelligent as you are beautiful", he said gallantly. "Jestes meska, Dave. Pozniej, ja czy pokazai jak wdzieczny jestem", she giggled. "You know I love it when you speak Polish, it's so dam sexy", he growled. "Ja wien", she replied coyly, as the waiter arrived with their food. |

That breakfast sounded amazing. I agree that it definitely beats McDonalds. I hate McDonalds brekafast. They used to have this vile thing called McGriddle sandwiches and my husband loved them. The very smell of them would make me sick. They were nasty. Sorry for that off topic story. This fic rocks! Bands really do eat so much crap on tour. Once in a while a place will feed you a real honest-to-god dinner with vegetables and chicken and you feel like you've died and stepped through the pearly gates. Really good chapter!!! |

Chapter 242 They finished their breakfast as Dave paid the bill and they chipped in for the tip. "Where do you suggest we go, Kitty? You're the Polish girl", he teased. "Very funny, Dave. We're close to the Wawel Hill, the Wawel Cathedral and the Royal Palace are there, along with the Wawel Dragon", she replied, a gleam in her eyes. "What? Is that a a tourist trap or some crap like that?", he asked, a puzzled look on his face. "It's from an old legend. You see, the dragon terrorized Krakow unless he was fed a virgin every week. The king then offered half his kingdom and the princess to anyone who could kill the dragon. A lot of guys tried but failed, until a cobbler tricked the dragon into eating a bag full of salt and sulfur. The dragon became so thirsty he drank all the all the water in the river and burst. Of course, the cobbler married the princess became king", she explained. "The thing with the dragon, it sounds like the story of the Minotaur, but the killing part is original", he mused aloud. "You've been reading your Bulfinch's, Dave. Yeah, they are similar. The reason the story got started is because there's a hot spring under the hill that smells like sulfur. It makes sense once you think about it", she said. They walked hand in hand towards the hill. Even amongst the crowds of people they stood out, both of them tall and redhaired. Some of the older people gave them odd looks, several of the women crossing themselves. "Why'd the old ladies cross themselves?", asked Dave, a puzzled look on his face. "They think I'm an escort and you're my client", she replied, frowning. "What? I've never gone to one of those in my life. Old biddies", he muttered. "In Eastern Europe, a lot of girls hook up with older foreign men to get out, or work for some escort service, and you look like an American, no Polish guy your age would have long hair. But in Warsaw and Kiev, there's a lot of more of that. Just ignore them", she said. Wawel Hill stood by the banks of the Vistula River. It wasn't very high, but it commanded a view of the city and the surrounding countryside. The hill was topped with the ornate cathedral and the equally opulent royal palace. The slopes were green with neatly trimmed grass and a cobblestone path leading to the top. At the bottom was a bronze statue of a dragon, a line of people, mostly parents and children, waiting to get in. "I think Electra would like this, but I don't want to see some hot springs that smell like rotten eggs. Let's see the Royal Palace, I don't wanna get struck by lightning", he joked. "Don't say that, Dave. Surely God isn't that vengeful", she teased. "What about when I wrote Bad Omen and The Conjuring? I don't think He likes those songs", he shot back. "Of course not, but I guess that must've been big in the 80's", she said. They made their way up the hill. It was a pleasant early fall day, warm but with a slight breeze. The trees on the hill were already starting to change colors, turning from green to gold and orange, fluttering from the branches. "Don't the kids have school, though?", she asked. "Yeah, but Pam and Bernie decided to take a vacation to Hawaii. I guess they didn't want the child welfare on them, so they let me see the kids for the tour until they come back. It's excused absence, but it's still great to see the kids. I can't believe they're going to just take off like that, and that vacation is coming out of my pocket, that comes from the alimony and what Bernie wrangled out me. Let's not dwell on that, Kitty. Let's see the Royal Palace", he said. |

Those nasty old women reminded me of a next door neighbor I used to have- she used to spit at certain people in my building and do a lot of weird stuff, make a lot of weird assumptions about people. I'm glad Dave gets to see the kids. I can't wait to read what happens next. |

This is the castle they go to: Wawel Castle And these are the crown jewels: Polish Crown Jewels Chapter 243 At the crest of the hill stood the Renaissance-style Wawel Castle. It looked like a compact white marble castle, it's white turrets reaching into the sky and set in an immaculate setting of neatly trimmed bushes and brilliant flowers, the last of the blooms before winter. "I don't wanna sound like a dork, but I didn't know the Polish monarchs lived in a castle like this", said Dave, a flush on his cheeks. "I understand, many Americans don't know that. Even after the capital moved to Warsaw, the crown jewels were kept here and this is where coronations were held", said Catriona. The castle was crowded with school groups and elderly people from a local church, along with several tourists; judging from how everyone talked, Dave and Catriona were the only Americans here. "It feels weird, I think we're the only Americans here", he said, frowning. "I guess many American tourists don't come here, that and summer's over. Maybe in the summer there's more American tourists", she mused aloud. They bought their tickets and stood in line to wait for the doors to open. Ahead of them were a group of children about ten or eleven years old, and a group of elderly women talking softly amongst themselves. The kids chattered happily, glad to be away from school as their teacher watched them like a shepherd with their flock. One of the little boys looked at them curiously, coming over to them. He wore a uniform consisting of blue pants and a red blazer over a white shirt, his blond hair cropped short and his blue eyes wide. "Dzien dobry. Jestes Amerykanka?", he asked. "Tak, ale moj matka Polska", she replied. "Ekstra! Moj kuzyn miesykoc en New York", he said excitedly. "Hi, little dude. My daughter is your age", said Dave. "Jan, proze mowic do dzwiny ludzie", said the teacher. "Jak w porzadku, pani", said Catriona graciously. "Przepraszam, pani, dziecko czy byc zyczliwy", she said apologetically, as the doors opened and the people entered the castle. Dave looked both confused and impressed by her. "What in the heck did you just say, Kitty?", he asked. "The boy asked if we were Americans and I said yes, then he said his cousin lives in New York. The teacher told him not to talk to strangers, but she apologized to us, she doesn't want someone to hurt the kids", she explained. "You have got to teach me Polish, Kitty. I know some curse words, but that's nothing. And I love it when you speak Polish, it's a sexy language", he chuckled. "Then you must speak to me in French, Dave. It's only fair", she teased. "Oui, mademoiselle Burton", he replied, his accent making her weak in the knees. The tour of the castle was surprisingly interesting. The guide explained that even though the castle dated from the 17th century, the monarchs of Poland had had a residence here since the 11th century. It was furnished in an elegant Renaissance Baroque style with gorgeous carved wooden furniture and marble statues and paintings, looking more French or Italian than Polish. The guide talked in Polish as she translated for him. The old people and the children stared wide-eyed at the rooms, the children especially. Dave had to smile at the wonderful looks on the children's faces, their eyes round with delight. I wish the kids were here, they'd love this, he mused. The last stop on their tour was a room containing the Polish crown jewels and the sword for coronations. "The crown jewels are replicas, the originals were destroyed by the Russians and Germans under the partitions", she explained. "Damn, that sucks. Those are good replicas, though", he said. The crown and scepter sat under a glass, the jewels catching the light. The crown had a vaguely Oriental look with the fiery red rubies and diamonds, more flat and low than the crowns of Western Europe. While they were browsing the gift shop downstairs, an old woman came over to them. She looked at them curiously, her dark eyes regarding them intently. "Pani i Pan, ja miec mie widzial milosc lubic od moj mag i ja buylisny razem. Jestes partners", she said, a small smile on her lips. |

Maisy and Laura, what the old lady said translates roughly to something like this: "Sir and madam, I have not seen such love between two people since my husband died. You are partners". I'll see if I can update tomorrow
