Ok, I completely understand if Fran doesn't want to go to the pro-football draft because if Hannah's there it'll be very awkward and embarrassing for her, but at the same time I don't know why she's all upset about James being with Hannah. She should've saw this coming and besides if she REALLY wanted James back, she would've made it clear to him that she still loves him-- the moral of the story Francesca has her self to blame

Francesca's done with James this time--she told him to go. She wasn't begging him to stay, as soon as he said Hannah's pregnant she knew there was no point fighting it. She'd already thought about him cheating while he was in L.A and she suggested herself that she could move out if he wanted. This time she accepted his heart was elsewhere. Next fall, when Marcella has left for Harvard, Francesca will be on her own for the first time in 22 years. That will be a shock! Hopefully then, she will enjoy her new grandchild. :)

More up soon!

James dressed proudly in his son’s USC Trojan’s shirt for the final game of the season. We were all dressing up for the game, I wore Castor’s red and gold colours too, and Lilly proudly zipped a maroon USC football jacket up over her growing middle. James drove us carefully to the stadium—the paparazzi had followed us the whole way surrounded the car. James’ kind hand checked my belly with his warm touch as we waited at the lights.

‘Is the baby ok?’ he asked gently.

‘A little excited perhaps—kicking a bit today’ I smiled.

‘I’m feeling more and more like it’s another boy!’ I teased him. He chuckled to himself, knowing our on-going joke. He was quite adamant it would be a girl.

‘If it’s a girl, can I name her?’ James grinned. He knew that he had the perfect name, but so far he wasn’t sharing it with me.

‘That sounds fair!’ I said sarcastically, ‘because if it’s a boy you’ll want to name him too!’ I laughed. USC’s stadium was in sight as we drove onto campus. The stadium would be full today for the final: the tv stations already filled the parking lot, and the paparazzi that had followed us from home surrounded the car as we parked, shouting and flashing their cameras at the car. James waited for a moment in concern: ‘I don’t want to let you girls out with them like this, they’ll push you both around. Lilly looked alarmed from the backseat.

‘Let me take you first, Lilly’ James offered. I nodded.

‘I’m come back for you darling’ he kissed me kindly. Anthony’s small voice piped up.

‘Dad—what about me?’ he asked nervously. James turned to him with a wide smile. So far, Anthony had not called James ‘Dad’ since Ray had left again for London.

‘I’ll be right back for you and your Mom, okay?’ James promised. The four year old nodded happily.

James left the car with difficulty, the photographers were right up close to him. He made it around to Lilly’s side, opening her car door. Immediately, they yelled her name. It was well known now that she was Castor’s girl. James wrapped his arm tightly around her middle as he protected her pregnant form, leading her into the player’s entrance. The paparazzi gave them no space at all: James was right not to risk us going in on our own. James returned for Anthony and I a few minutes later. He lifted Anthony onto his hip and protected me with his left arm around my waist, just as he had done for Lilly. Inside, he let Anthony down and he crouched down to speak to him.

‘You’re a good boy, Anthony’ James smiled. ‘You be good for your mum, okay? I just have to go and see Castor for a minute, I’ll be right back’ James pretended to pinch his small nose and he grinned. James kissed me warmly for a long second in the busy player’s lounge. His hands held me lovingly, he adored my pregnant body.

‘Be back in just a second, I just want to go and wish him good luck’ James kissed.

I smiled, as James left Lilly, Anthony and I to talk in the player’s lounge. He had been gone for only a minute before I noticed her. Francesca’s long blonde hair was as beautiful as ever. She stood across the room holding a glass of wine in her hand a little sadly. It was plain to see that she was here for her son, but perhaps she had not expected that I would be. Her face had found me through the crowd, her eyes poured sadly over my middle—it was evidently a surprise to her to see me. She glanced at Anthony too, he stood beside me with his shy face turned into my leg. I wondered what she thought as she saw my son grown up, he had only been a baby since she had seen photos of him last. She had never met him, nor had I laid eyes on her since seeing her in France years ago. After a minute more, our eyes finally met, she made her way slowly through the crowd to us. My heart raced a little, I had no idea what to expect. James had told me she had yelled furiously at him as he left.

‘Hello Hannah’ she started a little coldly. I could barely choke a welcome in response. I hoped she would not begin a tirade at me in public.

‘Congratulations’ she offered me, sadly—although she tried to warm her opinion of me with a short smile. ‘I’m glad James is happy’ she added. She took a glance at Anthony standing beside me. His blue eyes and blonde hair were a question on her mind.

‘So he’s not James’ son?’ she asked me directly, although I was sure she knew he was Ray’s.

‘No—he’s Ray’s son’ I explained. She nodded as though she already knew.

‘We’re so proud of Castor…James and I’, I added changing the subject. She broke a waning smile that curled her lip bitterly.

‘Castor is my son!’ she added possessively, her eyes teared up a little. Lilly looked uneasy. Francesca turned her attention from me to Lilly.

‘It’s good to see you sweetheart!’ she smiled. Her eyes inspected Lilly’s growing belly.

‘Will you and Castor come home to visit soon?’ she pleaded.

James emerged from the teams' dressing room to find us once more. To his surprise, Francesca stood with us. I excused myself to update him.

'She's not entirely happy' I whispered. James looked fearfully at my worried face. He knew just as well as I did that she had not expected to find me here.

'Lets go to the box now' he suggested.

‘How was Castor before the game?’ I asked James.

‘Terrified’ James replied. ‘Today’s game determines whether he gets picked once and for all as one of the 26 for the NFL draft in Dallas next week’ James explained.

He looked nervously at the starting line up on the field. Number 22 was jumping nervously to keep warm in the cold spring air. James stood and started a loud chant for his son: Castor! Castor!’ and the crowd followed eagerly. There was a loud applause and Castor waved his hand thankfully in the air. Lilly smiled and she leant into James’ ear, whispering in thanks. James held my hand tightly, I had never sensed him so nervous before. His eyes darted up and down the pitch as the game began. The crowd was deafening tonight: the opposition for the final was Alabama—the team that this year, had players who might be drafted for the first pick ahead of Castor.

Castor’s first touch of the ball sent a roar up the home crowd stand. James leapt out of his seat; Castor was running fast towards the touchline, laying down the ball with one hand at a fast run. The commentators filled the stadium with excited shouts. I yelled too—I had never been so proud of Castor, he was bringing his family together with his success and his courage. Francesca sat two rows ahead of us in the private box taking in the stadium that chanted her son’s name. It was Castor’s game—he was the only player from the Trojan’s positioned for the first draft pick.

‘YESSSS! James yelled. He celebrated loudly as his son scored the first touchdown of the game.

Alabama pushed through the Trojan’s defences for the second and third touchdowns of the game. The Trojan’s were slipping behind and the fans began their hopeful chants. Castor's names ricocheted around the stadium once more. Castor’s opportunity finally came in the fourth quarter—three minutes from the end he nailed the final blow to Alabama’s reign—the Trojan’s were now the league champions!

Confetti burst from the stadium at full-time. Castor knelt on the grass, holding his helmet in his hands with his head down in thankful prayer. His mother stood to applaud him and James wiped a heavy tear of delight as he cheered on the Trojan’s for their victory.

Later that night, Castor got the official call inviting him to Dallas. He had been picked as one of the 26 for the first round of the NFL draft. So far, the Raiders, the Bronco’s and the Cowboy’s had shown interest in him. But still, he waited for the news of his ranking in the draft.

The celebrating crowd watched ESPN’s momentus announcement on the bigscreen in the player’s lounge. Castor would any minute find out his ranking in the draft.

ESPN OFFICAL TOP NFL DRAFT PROSPECTS 2018

RANK

1. Castor Hetfield, Southern California-Trojans.

The team erupted into a wild roar and James lifted his son's feet from the ground, hugging him tightly. His pride for his son could not have been greater in that moment. He was the no.1 college football player in the nation, the season champion, and now, the most sought after new player for the next NFL season.

Question: Will any of the other Metkids make an appearance? I'm certain that Myles Ulrich is just as much a troublemaker as his daddy... :biggrin
