I like 'em, but I thought it was Bull sperm, and not his own?

I read that Kirk saw it in an exhibition, and he thought it would be a cool work to put on the cover.

That's what I thought too...

I like the covers, but no Metallica album cover is as great as Justice. Why? Because that cover shows all you need to know about the album (lyrically, especially): on the surface, all songs seem to be about politics and those kind of matters and some are, but if you listen better (or deeper) to the lyrics of most songs, it's more about James and his (childhood-) problems.
And the art of Lady Justice suits the title perfectly.

I felt the need to point that out :P

I love the Load and Reload covers. When I found out much later WHAT it was, I thought it was slightly disturbing, but not something to like them less.
I love the colours and the general abstract image. You know, it's not something obvious like a car or something.

And maybe not related to this topic: But do you people also get the image of the album cover in your head when you listen to a song? Or atleast associate it with the dominating colour? When I hear a Black Album song for example, I think of the black colour. When I hear a KEA song, I think of red. This goes for any music out there that I know the album cover of.

Yes you're right. I think of fire orange when I hear a song from Load, and I think of Metallic grey when I hear DM. And if I listen to Faceliftby Alice In Chains, I think purple. :) Its pretty funny.

Nope. It does not work for me. When I listen to a song, I generally have a scenario of a story playing in my head. A kinda dream...
Or sometimes it is related to a vid' I 've seen.

Hehe. I guess it works for some people. Just like each number has a color in my head. :)

Doesn't work this way for me either. I'm always seeing a concert clip or a video in my head when I hear a song.

I think it depends on my mood what I'm thinking whilst listening to a song. Sometimes its a person, sometimes a color anf even sometimes feelings and memories I thought I'd forgotten about.

I know exactly what you mean and I love it when that happens. To me, that means they were smart with choosing the album cover. Load and ReLoad are orange, and Ride the Lightning is various shades of blue. The only ones that don't do this much are Sad But True and All Nightmare Long, which aren't the same "color" as the album. To me, both of those songs are red.

I know what you mean!
There's one strange thing about Death Magnetic - everytime I hear the song from it, I feel the smell of the album! When I got it it just smelled so differently, and now when I'm listening to DM (especially Unforgiven III) I always feel that smell... I find it very interesting how I momorized something like that....
