I just have to get this off of my chest really quick... something that's been annoying me from the comments on the Youtube vids... ROB DESERVES TO BE IN THE ROCK AND ROLL HALL OF FAME AS MUCH AS ANYONE ELSE. This is what gets me. On almost every video I've seen, there have been posts like "Rob doesn't deserve to be there." Bullshit. The way I see it, Rob has dedicated his life to Metallica, ever since 2002-2003. He has toured, he has recorded, he has performed. Granted, he hasn't been in the band as long as anyone else, but his dedication is still there. I don't know if there are people who are still pissed that he's there and not Jason, but they need to get the hell over it. Rob has contributed by playing his ass off, doing something he loves and leaving his family to tour all over the world. And that deserves more recognition than I can even explain. Some people need to get the fuck over themselves and stop judging. I am glad that ALL the people who contributed to Metallica musically are in the RRHOF, including Cliff, including Jason, INCLUDING ROB. God damnit! /rant |

What the fu- Rob freakin' brought Metallica back from a near-death state (in my opinion.) They're back to a level that they haven't been at in a long time. He's part of the reason why Death Magnetic is so amazing. Dude, if they considered inviting DAVE, whose only contribution to the actual albums was WRITTEN MATERIAL, they HAD to induct Rob. Besides, having Rob captures where Metallica is on this stage of world domination. They need to get a life. I SUPPORT ROBERT TRUJILLO IN THE ROCK AND ROLL HALL OF FAME

Totally agreed. Rob deserves to be in there. He spent the last seven years saving this band and reshaping it with the others. There is a future in Metallica BECAUSE of Rob. So you damn RIGHT he's in the hall. |

Those people who say he doesn't deserve to be there... they are just so wrong. I'll always love Jason. He was my second favourite band member since the beginning... but he left the band. I was so angry at him when he did that. I couldn't believe he chose his "side projects" over Metallica. I know now that Jason had very different opinions musically. It wasn't just the side project or James who made him leave the band. I can respect his decision now and I've totally forgiven him for leaving... But then we had Rob. He was such a great bassist and a very nice guy. I liked him from the beginning. He made Metallica sound BIG. He's given so much for the band since he joined and there's no reason to say such a stupid things about him. They obviously don't know a shit about the work he's done for Metallica. James has said so many times how much Rob has contributed to the band. IMO... he's a full member of the band and no one can say he doesn't deserve to be in RRHOF with Metallica. My God... the man has been a member for years and he's recorded an album with them. Rob is Metallica and hopefully will be for the rest of the band's life, period!! |

It took me a bit longer... I was so devastated. I forgave him when I realized the real reason he left...

you may know iīm not a big rob fan, iīve sort of not yet accepted him fully as a member of metallica (not because iīm still grieving for jason and because i want him back or whatever, that would just be pathetic), but i would never say he doesnīt deserve to be in RRHOF because he most certainly does. even though itīs only been about 7 years that he spent with metallica now, i think itīs long enough because he plays a big role in metallicaīs history now, too so itīs definately right to have him accepted as well. |

Now this is just an assumption, but if you've been watching these videos on Youtube, I'm not surprised at the kind of comments you found there. Youtube is CHOCK FULL of dickheads who write stupid, ignorant shit, for the sheer pleasure out of getting into an argument with or just offending someone. I personally think what they're saying comes from a place of ignorance and bitterness...some of these people probably don't even think JASON deserves to be there, only Cliff. These are people who don't really have such an open mind or heart...especially when it comes to this band, whether it's due to emotional attatchment or just being stubborn. Most of them just lack true fucking excitement in their lives and the only rush they get is feeling the "validity" of what they've said when someone gets angry or disagrees. These are some SAD FUCKS, and to be quite honest, I kind of pity them. Not only because of what I just spoke about, but because these people will never experience the feeling WE get whenever something amazing like this induction happens. I mean, how fucking PROUD did you feel when you were watching the ceremony and each and every one of them thanked US, the fans, or when they took the stage and blew everyone in that building away with the raw power of their performance? Those people who are still bitter and complain, complain, complain, will never GET it, not like we do. CLIFF, JASON, AND ROB ARE ALL WORTHY OF BEING INDUCTED INTO THE ROCK N' ROLL HALL OF FAME, AND I'M DAMN PROUD OF EACH OF THEM FOR CONTRIBUTING TO THE INSTITUTION THAT IS METALLCA! |

I agree with you Meredith. But youtube has some airheaded dicks on it. I love Rob! I love his style and performance, I also love Jason and Cliff, they all contributed in their own way!... They couldn't have done it better on the Induction |

You know, Metallica fans can be very conservative when it comes to embracing the evolution of the band. And that is VERY annoying at times because Metallica is all about evolution and new frontiers. I love Jason and he did an excellent job with Metallica but Rob is a GIANT bass player also he seems as personable as Jason. I don't know what the fuss is about. |

I totally agree. Rob is an a very important part in Metallica and he deserved completely to be on that stage receiving the induction. |

Unfortunately, there are a lot of ignorant people on YouTube. They have no idea what they're talking about but like to act like they know everything. Metallica wouldn't be where they are today without Cliff, Jason, and Rob. Period. They all deserve to be there. |

Why the hell wouldn't Rob deserve to be there?! Thats just ridiculous. METALLICA was getting inducted and Rob is a member of METALLICA. He is the "newest" member but yes, he's been in the band for years now and who was it on that ferocious bass on Death Magnetic!? Not to mention how ferocious his performance is live also. Not only does he contribute with those bass talents but also in many other ways to the band as a whole. He's worked his ASS off in the band and has contributed so much in such a short time! I'm personally excited to see how he can even further contribute to the Metallica machine down the line, cuz I really believe he'll be there for a long time. The absurdity of those YouTube snobs is shocking. They don't fucken know anything. |

No Rob, no Metallica. Case closed. Rob didn't fall out of the sky and climb out of his mommy's basement to join Metallica. He was an established musician who had played with Ozzy Osbourne and ST. Ignorant elitist metal fanboys can go fuck themselves. |
