You know, Metallica fans can be very conservative when it comes to embracing the evolution of the band. And that is VERY annoying at times because Metallica is all about evolution and new frontiers. I love Jason and he did an excellent job with Metallica but Rob is a GIANT bass player also he seems as personable as Jason. I don't know what the fuss is about.

Perfectly put. Great points.

I totally agree with you, ladies! Jason has always been my favorite band member, and will always be that. when he left it was like a divorce for me... and then Rob came... and I'm happy to have him in the band. Jason is happy with his life now, he does what he always wanted to, and Metallica keeps on rocking too. what else do we need?? personally, I need only one thing - to see Jason on stage more often.

I think I've alredy written it in another thread, but
James said Jason didn't bring anything in music of Metallica, but the question is, was he allowed, Jamie?
I think Jason is a melody guy, and he could write more soft stuff, but...
I know it's wrong, but when I think of Metallica Jasonc comes to my mind, not Rob, though the latter is awesome, funny and kind)))

You're right about the James statement. Jason wasn't allowed to. It's the same with James' statement about the no bass on AJFA, where he said "Jason and I are always battling for the bass mix on recordings". Which is bullshit, the bass was simply turned way down.

And nothing wrong with you thinking of Jason! I have the same. My fav Metallica is the Jason era and when I think of 'the band Metallica', I always see them in my mind during the Black and Load eras.

yeah! I picture them during Load/Reload)
it just amazes me what a polite, forgiving and intelligent man Jason is, he doesn't rant about being kicked out, he still loves these guys and still is their biggest fan
what an enviable self-control

I'm not sure about him being their biggest fan, but that's a pretty interesting point you just made there. Jason could be a WHOLE lot worse. For the most part, he does his own thing and keeps quiet on the whole issue. He's not like Dave Mustaine has been in the past, ranting and raving about how Metallica did him wrong. He's had his angrier moments, but who could blame him. For the most part, he's been the ideal former band member. I'm sure he still loves these guys and wants them to succeed, and vice versa.

Without Robert Trujillo= Metallica would be dead...

Rob is more than deserving of his place in the RRHF, as is Cliff and Jason
