Sometimes, when I'm bored, I like to make "themed" cds and I've been thinking about making a cd with "depressing" songs on it just for those times I'm in a bad mood or upset about something (kind of like...now! lol). Usually listening to music that is in the same tone that I'm feeling makes me feel better.... So, I decided to make a cd with "Depressing Metallica Songs" on it so I need your guys advice on what songs I should put on it? Definitely putting "Fade to Black" on it, thats one of the more obvious ones and maybe "Friend of Misery" but not sure what else would classify as "depressing" lol Any suggestions?? |

Fade to Black. This song always tears me up, and when I sing on it, I end it, crying like a child The lyrics are just... and the melody is so melancolic.

The Call of Ktulu...I know it's instrumental but the starting is good when I feel low. Dyers Eve is lyrically good. Hero of the Day. The Thing that Should Not Be. Welcome Home (Sanitarium) For Whom the Bell Tolls. If your putting covers on it, maybe Turn the Page. But most of the ones I would have chosen have been said |

I never really thought Orion is much of a depressing or 'negative' song. The music sounds quite majestic, and that beautiful mid section sound more like paradise to me rather than something depressing. |

Maybe there is some context making this song kinda 'depressive'

I said that about Orion too but I guess it depends on what kind of person you are and how you see it. Thanks to everyone for their inputs!

The God That Failed, although that one is more like you're angry and crying at the same time. And if that made any sense, then Dyer's Eve as well. And sometimes when I get overactive in my head, For Whom The Bell Tolls gets scary. I think most have been covered already. One, Until It Sleeps, The Unforgivens, you're all set. |

The only thing that really sucks about this making a cd business with Metallica songs is...I can't put alot of songs on a disc...the songs are toooo long! So I'm carefully picking and chosing what want..its very annoying.
