when i'm at home i play without shoes. i've never heard about the ingrown nail thing. good to know that now! |

At home I play with barefeet, but when you're playing a show, I suggest you wear some shoes...

I play barefoot too. No reason except A) Its comfy and B) I hate shoes and never wear them... |

Wow, why does everyone here play barefooted? I've tried it once or twice. I think it's an aweful way to play. Nope, just give me a pair of shoes!

i think it also depends on the shoes. if they are comfortable enough it's okay. but i still prefer playing without shoes. |

I sometimes had to play wearing combat boots. That really felt as though my feet were lead. I always play with sneakers (more like 'skater shoes', like Fallen) or (fake ) allstars. Works the best for me

i could never imagine playing with combat boots. i think especially when you play double bass it must be quite difficult. |

Well, I don't play double bass, but even then it's really hard to play faster/as fast as you can with a single. It's even hard to keep the work up. So yup, sneakers for me. |
