I explain why I voted 'no' to a shoutbox.
We have that... had on Metfuk. All it was two or three people talking to each other non stop about things that should be most appropriate in PMs... their daily chats were clogging up the board and making everyone else feel left out. More so, when more people are trying to talk to each other, but not to the other group, it makes absolutely no sense who is talking to whom. Thus every shout started appear with the name... or simple @username. Conversations were lost and no one was pleased with 'for everyone to see info' that often appeared in the shouts. I say that PMs are very useful for talks and I think it's better to leave it at that.
Now the chatroom is absolutely different matter. If you don't want to chat, simply do not enter, not like shoutbox that visible to everyone who is on board.
I have no objections to a proper chat room.

Alright...Definitely makes sense...sounds more cumbersome than it's worth.
