Gongaga
A town on the Western Continent, it was once taken over by Shinra, who built a reactor there, but when the Eastern Continent revolted with the help of Wutai, they destroyed the reactor, leaving it in ruins. It's a rather calm, small town, full of people who don't want anything else than to just be able to live calm lives.

Costa Del Sol
Costa del Sol is a coastal resort town that also serves as the main port on the western continent. The town specializes in making Softs. It was once used as one of Shinra's main military harbors, but since the Western Uprising, it has become a semi-autonomous state, with alliances with the Gold Saucer, North Corel, Cosmo Canyon, Nibelheim, and Rocket Town.

Mt. Corel
Mt. Corel is a location on the Western Continent. It is a mountain that divides the area around Costa del Sol from the rest of the Western Continent. The town of North Corel is located just at the foot of the mountain. There is also a Mako Reactor on the mountain. The mountain can be traveled via long abandoned stretches of an abandoned railroad system.

Cosmo Canyon
Cosmo Canyon is the global center for research on the Planet and the Lifestream. After the Western Uprising, Cosmo Canyon has remained neutral in any Shinra vs West conflicts, and they share their findings with both sides, and with Wutai. The scientists here prefer to remain peaceful, so they can continue their research without getting shot.

Nibelheim
Because Jenova was killed by the Cetra in the Midgar Memories universe, Nibelheim was never destroyed by Sephiroth because they never existed. Shinra Manor was still built north of the town during Shinra's rule, but after the Western Uprising, Nibelheim returned to simply being a calm mountain town, using the reactor left behind by Shinra to power the town and its environment. They are allied with Rocket Town, and because they are in a very western location on the continent, hardly ever have scuffles with Shinra. They hold a good bond with the rest of the Free Cities, and with Wutai.

Rocket Town
Rocket Town was once the hub for Shinra's space program, but the launch was set right after the date of the Western Uprising, so Shinra lost billions of gil because the rocket was never launched. Rocket Town and Nibelheim are bound together and form one territory, and they trade and hold good relationships with Wutai and the rest of the Free Cities.

Western Wilds
The Western Continent is, of course, not just the Free Cities. In between there are large stretches of forest, wasteland, mountains, you name it. There's small villages spread far and wide, most of which are allied to at least one of the Free Cities.
