Scene 1: In the Gym

The scene opens up in a gym. The camera zooms around all over the gym in search of one man, George Tissle. The camera finally locks in on “The Human Missile” as he is doing some parallel squats. In black gym shorts and a grey t-shirt soaked in sweat, George finishes his last rep. As he starts to rack the heavily weighted bar he slips, and the spotter can do absolutely nothing. George crashes to the floor and clenches his eyes as if he’s accepted his fate already. As he half expects the bar to crash upon him, the bar lands firmly on the squat catch bars if you would so kindly call them. George slowly picks himself up off of the floor as some of the 45 pound weights that were weighing the bar down roll around after falling off of the bar.

George Tissle
God damn it!

Spotter
You okay George?

George Tissle
Yeah I’m fine, just a little pissed about that.

Spotter
Don’t worry about it man. Here hit the showers, I’ll take care of your weights.

The spotter throws George a towel to wipe his sweat off of his brow.

George Tissle
Thanks man.

George wipes off his sweat as he walks towards the locker room. Once in the locker room he sits down on a bench in front of a row of red lockers. The sound of showers running is faintly heard.

George Tissle
That could’ve been it right there. Another injury and I’m not quite so sure the EWF would re-new my contract. That’s the thing about being on the sidelines. There’s nothing you can do as guys step up and take your spot. I mean look at the Legacy Champion, Mike Howard. I know for a fact I can beat that guy, but I had to sit back and watch him win that title. Can I explain why I wasn’t in that match? Yes I can actually. It’s just one word, a noun in fact, Kostoff. We’ll get to him in a little bit.

But that Legacy Title is on my mind constantly. Day and night, that’s all I can think about. Every morning at breakfast, it’s all I can taste. I’m 18 years old and I absolutely need to be victorious. Yet that belt will change hands yet again without me in the picture. Kostoff cost me that chance. That’s why I did what I had to do when I came back last week on Mayhem. Sure I am “The Human Missile” George Tissle and most think that I’m just a people pleaser. They think I’m just a guy who will play to the crowd in order to gain more popularity. But this isn’t f**kin’ high school to me. This isn’t the homecoming king pageant, this is my job. This is my life. And I’ll be damned if I’m not the best I can be. I’m 18 years young, and I’ve already tasted gold. I was the Xtreme Wrestling Federation World Champion. Yet here in the EWF I’m only a measly .500. One win and one loss is all that I can show for myself. This injury taught me something, that wrestling isn’t going to be here forever. Just because I’m so young doesn’t necessarily mean I have a long run in me.

Something that is my life is going to leave me sooner or later. Sure I can be some old guy like the Godfather and stick around way past my prime but I plan on retiring on top. Yet talk will not get me there. Why do you think I’m in the gym right now? Why do you think I just kicked my own ass for 4 hours? Fun? I wish. This wrong that was done to me by Kostoff, has put new motivation into George Tissle. I’m ready to take on that title. Stronger and stronger I can feel myself getting and the stronger I get, the closer I get. The closer I get to that Legacy Title. The closer I get to the Legacy Title, the more I become the face of Mayhem. The more that I pull around my weight, the closer I become to being the guy that everybody fears. That’s the real will of George Tissle. I want to be the guy in professional wrestling. I want to be the best. And I’ll be damned if I don’t do everything in my power to get there.

George grabs a towel and heads towards the shower leaving the camera there. The scene fades into black.

Scene 2: Explaining My Career

George takes a step out of the gym. Wearing a black T-Shirt with white writing across the front that says “The Human Missile” and jeans, George puts a cigarette into his mouth and lights it. He starts to walk over to his car when a man stops him.

Man
And I almost thought for a minute that you were serious George.

George looks over at the man and gives him a puzzled look as he blows smoke out from his lungs.

Man
That sappy little monologue you had just now in the locker room.

George Tissle
Sorry what is your name again?

Man
Oh sorry for being so rude. My name is Mike Smith with Pro Wrestling Insider. I was wondering if you would be willing to set up an interview.

George Tissle
Uh yeah sure. Meet me over at Roma’s in ten minutes.

The scene then transitions to a booth in a cozy little Italian Restaurant. George is finished smoking his cigarette and the interview is just about to begin. Mike Smith takes a tape recorder out and hits the record button as he sets it down onto the table.

Mike Smith
I’d like to start out first by asking you why you got into professional wrestling.

George Tissle
Well growing up in Canada I was naturally a big fan of Bret Hart growing up. Just watching his matches and just being amazed at how this Canadian could be dominating everybody. Not just Bret, but the whole Hart Foundation actually. It was almost like they brought a sense of pride to Canada. Just knowing that a Canadian can go out there and rule the World, at least in wrestling, was a huge confidence builder. So I started watching the moves closer and picking up on little things. Soon there was nothing that I could do except to train to become a professional wrestler.

Mike Smith
Now it’s funny that you brought up Bret Hart as a boyhood hero. It seems like your style is so much different from his. On the basis of Bret being a technical wrestler and you being a high flyer of sorts with some technical moves in your repertoire. How did you come to your current style of wrestling?

George Tissle
Well I’m a bit smaller than most average wrestlers. I needed to find my own niche in pro wrestling. Going to the top turnbuckle seemed to produce the most results for me. Sure I’m not scared to get down on the mat and grapple with someone, but if you let me break loose there’s hell to pay when you step into the ring with me. It was almost like I could become an explosive element, hence my nickname.

Mike Smith
I’m glad you brought that up. Did you assign yourself the nickname, or did someone else?

George Tissle
Was originally it was George “The Missile” Tissle. But I wanted something with a little more pizzazz to it. Know what I mean? Everybody these days tells people that they’re the next big thing or the call themselves prime time. Some people even call themselves the monster or something of that nature. But me, “The Human Missile” George Tissle? There’s no comparison to that name. I mean it just flows. Not to boast or anything. Plus it kind of gives me that old school feel. Like the days when I fell in love with wrestling.

Mike Smith
I know that you can’t really state how the industry has changed because you are so young. But how do you feel like you fit in with the pro wrestling business coming in at the tender age of 18?

George Tissle
Well I don’t really think my age has anything to do with it. Sure I’m naïve at times and think that I can just have my way with opponents but in a sense I’m just like any other rookie out there. Whether I am 18 or 25 ya’ know?

Mike Smith
Does your age have anything to do with why you’ve been bouncing around from federation to federation?

George Tissle
It’s all about the right feel. My first few companies I’ve worked for just didn’t suit me. Then when the XWF came calling, I felt at home. I mean you can tell, some of my best matches were for that company. Now in the EWF, I think I’ve found a new home.

Mike Smith
How does the EWF compare with previous companies you’ve worked for?

George Tissle
Well I could tell from day one that I had found something special. There’s no backstage politics going on, there’s nothing except pure competition. You go out in the ring and try to do your job everyday. Nobody’s messing with you or interfering with your business unless they have beef with you. That’s just how the EWF works.

Mike Smith
So how do you respond to Kostoff’s allegations that he has been told to purposely drop matches because the higher officials don’t like him?

George Tissle
That’s bullshit, pure and utter bullshit. It’s sad that somebody has to stoop down to find an excuse like that. It taints the industry that I work in and I take it personally. Don’t you think that if that match was scripted, I would’ve come down with that steel chair during the match? If he’s taking shots at management that’s his problem, but cheapening the EWF as a whole, I take personally. Not that he hasn’t already given me plenty of reasons to hate him.

Mike Smith
So you are talking about your injury?

George Tissle
Yeah I am. Come this Thursday I’m going to finally get my revenge at him. He took me out of action for weeks. It’s time I take him out of action. That little interview that you mentioned earlier, I saw that. He needs to get it through his thick skull that he’s only the man that he makes himself to be. Instead of going out to dinner with some girl, why doesn’t he hit a gym for once in his life? You have to work for what you have, I know I have. I’m in a position to catapult myself to the top or to shrink down into the lower card. That’s what he’s done to himself. Squandering every opportunity that he got. And who does he blame it on? Management? Give me a break. It’s easy to blame other people for your own flaws. That’s exactly what he’s doing there.

Mike Smith
Let’s backtrack for a moment. What was going through your head when you stepped out at Mayhem last week?

George Tissle
I was a little irrational, I admit that. I just wanted to get to Kostoff and show him that I wasn’t about to back down. I wanted him to know that since he took me out of action, all I could think about was taking him out of action. You know what the bible says, and eye for an eye.

Mike Smith
Yeah but it also says turn the other cheek.

George Tissle
I turn a blind eye towards that one right there. So it’s simple. An eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth. So if Kostoff wants to take me out for a little while, I won’t feel bad for putting him on the shelf too.

Mike Smith
It seems like you have lost touch with all rationale here George. Do you really think that you’re going to be the same George Tissle when you come out on Thursday? Do you think you’ll be the same man that the crowd loves?

George Tissle
Sometimes your heart takes a backseat to revenge. If the fans don’t like what I do on Thursday, then I apologize. But deep down in my heart, I think they’ll have no problem with me when I whoop his ass all across that ring. It isn’t like Kostoff is the golden boy in the EWF. It’s not like the fans actually like that guy. I think they’ll be glad I’m trying to rid them of a nuisance actually.

Mike Smith
It seems like you’re willing to beat Kostoff using any means necessary.

George Tissle
I don’t think that beating is a good word to use. I prefer the term pulverize. He’s about to learn a lesson.

Mike Smith
If there is anything that you could say to Kostoff, what would it be?

George Tissle
Like direct my speech towards him?

Mike Smith
Yeah that’ll work.

George Tissle
Kostoff, you’ve pissed me off. First you take me out of action, and then you disrespect the business that I love. How do you think things are going to go for you when I step into the ring with you? Not very good by my count. You see on November 1st, I’m going to start a very, very bad month for you. I’m going to take you out. I’m putting you on the shelf. I don’t care what repercussions come from it. You’re a disgrace to Mayhem, a disgrace to professional wrestling, and you’re a sorry excuse for a man. I may only be just a kid still, but I’m going to kick your ass. That’s the bottom line of my message. Be scared Kostoff, be scared because the countdown has started, and a missile launch is headed your way! Oh and by the way, it's "The Human Missile" George Tissle, not "The Missile," dumb ass!

The scene fades to black.
