With the conversation that took place just a few days earlier, Brandon had been dead set on taking out his opponent at Adrenaline. He didn't have problems with people talking shit about him, or anything like that. He had been threatened with his life, he had been called every name in the book, and he had just simply grown used to it. It was a part of the business that is Professional Wrestling. People come and go, but at least one time in their career, they would talk shit about another. Hell, he did it, he wasn't ashamed. It's just one of those things, one of those things that you can't get away from. But it was something else when they talked shit about a loved one. Especially when they threaten disturbing things upon them. That, that just isn't called for and will not be tolerated. Brandon had been concentrating on proposing to Jessie, but was side tracked when he heard the remarks made before the last edition of Adrenaline. He didn't appreciate them at all, and he made that clear to his opponent. ---------------------------- Our scene opens to a 'Hooters' restaurant in downtown Phoenix, Arizona. Seated at a table, Brandon Watkins enjoys a soda, and the company of his friends, and love of his life, Jessica Bollinger. Baxter, along with Andrew Varela, and Jacob and Shayla Terry, sat across from Jessie and Brandon, on the other side of the booth. They were all there, having a good time, celebrating life. Little did they know, that Brandon had a little surprise lying in wait. "That was a really good match you had last week Brandon, you pretty much dominated that guy. Hell, that's the best you've looked in the ring for a long time." Said Jacob, taking a swig of his beer. "I'd have to agree with Jacob on this one, you kicked some serious ass out there man." Replied Drew. Jacob and Shayla, who had been married for about two and half years, sat hand in hand in the booth. Shayla looked over at Jacob, smiling with a twinkle in her eye. They had been high school sweet hearts just like Brandon and Jessie. They had started dating in Shayla's freshman year, and stayed together since. Not to say they didn't have any hardships or rough patches in the road to marriage, but they stood strong and held on tight to what eventually would become, marriage. "They are both right honey, you did fantastic. But, I've always thought that." Expressed Jessie, smiling at Brandon before giving him a kiss on the cheek. She was seated as close to him as she could be, wearing a pair of tight fitting black pants, and a 'Revolution' jersey that was once worn by Brandon back the days of 'Golden Championship Wrestling'. She had it tied in the back, showing off some of her curves, as she let her red hair lay on and behind her shoulders. "Yeah Brandon, you did great. Damn, I was afraid, I didn't know what you were going to do to that fool after what he said. Looks like you did a good number on him though, props my man." Baxter said, raising his class and passing a 'cheers' motion around the table. The clinking sound of glasses was heard, moments before the scantly clad waitress approached the table. "Hey guys! My names Tamara, and I'll be taking your order tonight. Have you all looked through the menu, or do you need a little more time?" The table looked around, all agreeing to order. They all closed their menus, and ordered as Tamera went around the table. When she got to Andrew, who was sitting with a sly grin on his face, he replied.. "I'd like the buffalo chicken sandwich." "Ok." replied Tamara. "And what type of sauce would you like on that?" "I like my wings hot, just like my woman." said Drew, catching laughter from all around the table. "Alright then... haha. Can I get you anything else?" asked Tamara, one final time. "How about a side of "Yo Numba" baby?" exclaimed Drew, actually hoping for a yes. "Sorry little guy, you're just not my type. That food will be right out!" said Tamara before leaving, laughing as she did. The table all looked at Drew, and couldn't help but laugh. He shrugged it off and replied.. "That's fine, there's a number of other little honey dips in this place. I'll get a number before we leave, you can bank on that." "You're such a little perv Drew, when will you ever grow up? You're twenty three years old, and still chasing girls like you're in high school." Said Shayla, having known Drew since the fifth grade, not understanding why he was the way he was. "Because I didn't hit the jackpot and score the love of my life in highschool. The only girl I had then was Rosario, and we all know she's a whore." replied Drew. "Guys, can we please stop talking about that.. shouldn't we be congratulating Brandon or something? We are out after all, for him." expressed Jessie. The group around the table all nodded their heads in unison, agreeing with the suggestion. "Guys, you really don't need to do that. It's not really anything special to win a match, or lose a match, or have a match. It's all really old news, and nothing really worth celebrating. The only thing that made this last one special, was the fact that I shut up all the shit he was talking about Jessie and I. If that fucker thought he would get away with it, he sure got a rude awakening." said Brandon. By now, Tamara, the group's waitress, had brought the food and passed it around the table. The group began eating, but still continued on with the chat about Brandon and his wrestling. "I'm feeling pretty good about this week as well. I've read up on the guy that I'm facing, and he does seem impressive, but nothing I can't handle. Should be a good match.. and hopefully, I'll come out with my third win in PWX. Anyway, I'll be right back. I need to go wash my hands.. probably take a piss while I'm at it." said Brandon, as he got up from the table and headed towards the bathroom. While he was gone, the group sat in almost silence eating their food. They were all a bunch, that didn't really talk all that much when they had food in front of them. Even the girls, didn't like to chit chat while they crammed food in their mouth. While Brandon was in the bathroom, he stood in front of the mirror, talking to himself. He was almost ready to pop the big question, he was almost ready to start the rest of his life, it as only a few hours away, and he knew he was ready. "I've been thinking about this for months now, and it's finally going to happen. I'm finally going to ask Jessie to marry me.. and hopefully she'll say yes. I hadn't really planned on her saying no.. I guess I'll just have to wait and see. Brandon leaned down and turned on the water to the sink. He lathered up his hands with soap, and placed them underneath the flowing water. He finished washing, turned off the water, and grabbed a paper towel that was placed next to the sink to dry his hands. He once again, looked in the mirror and talked to himself. "Well, I guess this is it. I have a big match coming up this week. But I have an even bigger even taking place tonight." He smirks, and points to himself in the mirror. "Good luck man, you'll need it.." To Be Continued... |
