What are you drinking right now? I just opened my second bottle of Mountainhome Black Ale and I am really liking it. Dwarves really know how to brew. |

Not really big into most kinds of alcohol, not a fan of the taste of most, and getting drunk for the sake of it never appealed to me. But then I don't drink much so I'm probably missing out some something delicious somewhere. I stick mostly to coffee and tea. Caffeine is a hell of a drug. |

But now I wonder if our resurrecting friend has ever indulged in carnality. |

Would not want to think on it. Trust me seeing the last thoughts of those you banish is not good for such things. Specially after that one run in with Abomination spawned of lust based elder gods. |

Here's a drinking-related tale. Just went to a friend of a friend's house, our bard friend called me at 2am and my rogue buddy over there because the lady of the house had locked herself out of her room during a party. Rogue buddy spends an hour trying to unlock the door with his lockpicks. Can't do it. In the meantime, I partake of quite a few shots of rum. Lady bemoans the fact that she can't get into her room to turn off the music or sleep. I realize I haven't prepared Knock today. I kick open the door, cracking it in the process. Lady is shocked. I tell her it's $22 dollars at Home Depot to buy a new door, and that's still cheaper that hiring a mage to come cast Knock. This way she gets to sleep in her bed tonight. My rogue buddy shakes his head and we shrug it off and head back to my place to get drunk some more. ((This just happened in real life.)) Rogue buddy is now in one of the guest rooms, asleep. I'm on the couch, cuddling with Julia and typing this on my phone. She's kind of peeved that I'm so drunk but also glad that I'm showing her this much attention. We've been spending a lot of time with Eva recently, so it's nice to have some time just to ourselves. Eva and her dad are playing a board game in the other room. Castle Ravenloft, one of the ones I've had since I was a child, passed down by my dad. It's named after house Zarovich's traditional homestead. ((This, sadly, did not just happen in real life.)) I hope you all are having a great weekend, since no one else has been on for like 6 hours. Curse my dhampir sleep schedule. I'm gonna go back to cuddling with Julia. |

Alright, since some people apparantly have some funny ideas about alcoholic drinks tasting like poison, I'm going to share a few of my favorite drinks. Let's start with a simple one. Rum&Coke: Ingredients: Coca-Cola, Ice, Rum of your choice(I'd recommend Havana Club Dark rum) Fill a tall glass with ice, then fill the bottom with 6cl of Rum, I personally use rather rough measurements and just fill the bottom. Then fill the rest of the class with chilled Coke and add a slice of Lime, but any citrus fruit works excellent. Then all that is required is your enjoyment. And here's a drink that's a favorite of mine. Yes, it's really wimpy but idgaf. White Russian: Ingedients: Milk, Kahlua, ice and Vodka Fill a tall glass with ice, then will the bottom with 4cl of Vodka. When you've done that, fill the glass with Kahlua until it roughly reaches half. When you've done this, poor milk in the glass and get a spoon to mix it around. If you're feeling really adventurous you could try and add a table spoon of chocolate powder. Mix everything until it gets a chocolate milk like colour. Enjoy it like the Dude. These two drinks are excellent to begin drinking with, you'll get used to the taste and feel of alcohol without it being overpowering, as if you were say... Drinking whiskey or bourbon. However, I'm a beer guy so drinks is not really my strong suit. |

Great drinks, in no particular order: Gin and Tonic: 2 (or 3 if you're me) parts Gin (I recommend Tanqueray Rangpur for this), 5 parts Tonic Water, splash of lime juice on the rocks in a highball or pint glass. If I had to pick one drink that was the only thing I could drink for the rest of my long life, this would be it. It's a simple drink, with a lime flavor, with plenty of alcohol that doesn't hit you over the head with its presence. Tan Ferrari: Equal parts Amaretto, Kahlua, and Bailey's. Drink chilled. A smooth drink, with an almond flavor. Another great starting drink. Midori Sour: 1 part Midori melon liqueur, 1 part whiskey sour mix, 2 parts Sprite soda, 2 cherries. A sweet drink, with a melon flavor. Don't be fooled by the name, it's not sour at all. A good "girly" drink. Very little alcohol in this. Both of Frosty's drinks are favorites of mine as well, although I make my White Russians with Bailey's instead of milk and a lot more vodka than he does. That's not recommended for beginners though. As for beers, Longboard Island Lager from Kona Brewing is a personal favorite of mine, though that might just be because I'm Californian. Smooth and not too hoppy, it's a good beer for all occasions. For Mexican beers, I tend to pick Modelo Especial (If you're buying it from the store, get it in bottles, not cans. It makes a difference.) I also enjoy pretty much every beer Stone Brewing puts out, but those are not beginners drinks, at all. I would recommend some wines, but it's hard to get most of the wineries I buy from outside of California. I live right in the heart of wine country. A local favorite of mine is Sextant Winery, especially their Beachcomber wine. I also like the Claiborne & Churchill Winery, their Port Obispo red dessert wine is amazing. EDIT: I completely forgot about mead. My personal favorite so far is Bunratty Meade. Delicious honey flavors. Edited by Dhampir Dan, Dec 19 2011, 10:46 AM.

Hmm, Bailey's instead of milk. I should try that. I wrote those recipies for other people than myself, I'm infamous in my group of friends for going a bit overboard with the amount of alcohol in my drinks. Particurlaly White Russians. |

I do the same thing, my dhampir nature means it takes more alcohol to get me drunk than most humans, so I tend to go over the top with how much alcohol I put in my drinks. Then my rogue friend Jesse shows up, he's a skinny dude, pure human, and I've seen him do 3-4 shots of Bacardi 151 like he was drinking water. I have no idea how the guy does it. |

Sounds like the average adolescent male here in Sweden. But then again, the general alcohol culture here is "DRINK UNTIL YOU PASS OUT AND HOPE YOU GET LAID". So yeah. |
