I practice marksmanship for a hobby, none of that elven bow crap. Good old fashioned HUMAN designed firearms. Its relaxing, affordable and keeps me ready in case my neighborhood ever goes orc.

No bows, only old fashioned weapons like guns
You may literally be too stupid to live. Tell me, who did you steal the functional computer with internet access from?

The specialty ammo doesn't feed?

I'm not really familiar. As an adventurer, I need something more flexible than regular bullets.
I use a colt rune revolver. It's mah baby. Nice piece of machinery AND magic. The thing can still
actually fire regular bullets if I want, but I mostly take advantage of not needing ammo.

Running into that war golem on the job has me spooked though. Wondering if I should spring for
something more high powered.

Bows are crap, unless you feel like blowing a pile of gold the size of a sedan, and even then you need 2 hands. Besides, some of us spent good money on periapts of anti magic to deal with jobless bookworms with nothing better to do with their time then go ethereal and hassle decent, working folk.

syndrome, the different weights plays havoc on the springs, the feeding is half of the issue, the other half is extraction. Though if you are willing to pay, you could always rig your ejection port with a portable hole. The best part? No more looking for spent casings when you need to reload them, just flip the hole inside out during diss-assembly.

You appear to have utterly missed the point, as expected of you, so allow me to spell it out again:
You called guns "good old-fashioned human designed weapons," ignoring both that a) humans did not design the first guns, and b) they are so very not old fashioned it's hilarious. Especially when the thing you are comparing them with is bows, which actually were independently developed by many human cultures a long, long time before guns were developed.
Also, I guarantee you that, against "jobless bookworms with nothing better to do with their time then go ethereal and hassle decent, working folk," a "periapt of anti magic" is going to do exactly nothing (especially considering what you're wearing is either a magic item that casts an anti-magic field on activation, which would be very expensive, or an amulet of spell resistance or the like, which isn't even going to stop spells directly targeted at you by a powerful caster, let alone stop them just dropping something heavy on you).

See, now that's the kind of thing I never would have thought of.

I'm also told bows have merits, but enchanting has finally caught up with guns. Anything you can enchant
a bow to do, you can enchant a gun to do. The extra cost tends to be worth it for all the advantages a gun
brings.

Can't really say much though. I'm more familiar with magic guns. I'm considering something more old fashion.
Alchemic guns are old hat with some problems with the way the ammo works, but they can pack a hell of a
punch. Having to worry about the ammo going 'stale' is almost worth putting up with how big a hole those
things can make.

Eh, bows are only used for sport these days, even the hardcore hunters prefer (at best) crossbows. For self-defense and war however, a gun is good.
