I practice marksmanship for a hobby, none of that elven bow crap. Good old fashioned HUMAN designed firearms. Its relaxing, affordable and keeps me ready in case my neighborhood ever goes orc.![]() The man who figures out how to make an incendiary bimetal silver/cold iron core jhp that feeds well will have at least one lifelong customer. |

Too bad a good deal of my jobs involve taking the target alive if at all possible. |

Outside the traditional pleasantries of "You're under arrest!" I haven't had any trouble with taking people alive and still pulling out every stop. You just need to use less-lethal rounds, like beanbags or gas-canisters or fun specialty rounds like anti-magic stuff to nullify mage armor or stuff like that. Or ones with certain spells. Like that one that's a blinding spray of colors? That one's fun. Who needs flashbangs when you can make everyone in the room taste the rainbow? |

Those guys are going to get killed so fast if they go up against a semi-competent shooter. |

@Quinn Well, as Lawbringer said, it's possible to go all out without killing people, and in fact, may be easier since it means "the honorable fight" includes poisoning their dinner/drink before the formal fight to weaken them. Though from what I've assessed of this philosophical outlook also explains why many cultures see death-in-battle as the greatest honor. Because it means they've forced their opponent's hand and pushed them to the absolute limit of their abilities. Of course, this, like many other things (I think) are diluted and distorted into how we understand them today in much more vague forms. @Frosty In their defense, I believe paladins tend to have "deflect ballistics" as a fairly standard spell to deal with that. Or they just wear the proper armor. |

@Ichiro I doubt they have been approved for civilian use, but there are countermeasures against that. But it's the attitude in general that's dangerous, it far to often leads to underestimating guys with guns. And that gets people killed. |

then in the end I guess we can both agree Paladins needs to seriously modernize their game. Though I think the world would be afraid of a channeled smite through a tank cannon. Though it would certainly be an expedient way to deal with fortresses of evil. |

If only Paladins were clever enough to implement something like that. |

If paladins were clever enough to understand why my plans weren't evil I wouldn't be here. |

I do kind of feel bad for paladins in the long run. So many of them are so damn afraid of falling they pretty much end up jumping at or away from shadows. |
