I've been having this casual thing with this intern chap from down the street. (Not OUR intern. That doesn't actually fly here.) Anyway, at one point I casually ask whey he won't schedule anything on Saturdays, and I can immediately tell he doesn't want to say anything. So I yank his chain a bit, and eventually he says he has a "role playing group." When I express surprise at not being invited, he looks even more confused. Turns out this version of roleplaying has nothing to do with "I'm a bad girl who needs smiting." So apparently he goes to this other fellow's apartment, with some other people, and they roll dice, and things? Anyway, I'm going next Saturday. Anyone know about this? How do I win? More importantly, how do I dress? I mean, there's informal and then there's informal and then there's handcuffs, you know? |

>Dressing Not drow. >Bring Snacks. Normal snacks. not drow. and dice. a lot of d10 or d100 >Winning IT'S A RP GAME YOU CAN'T WIN! >Games rules http://www.megaupload.com/?d=smf86430 http://www.megaupload.com/?d=llgu3lvo Anything else? And yeah, don't ERO RP. people don't like that in their RP games. |

>Rogue Trader >Drow playing it to win This can either end in disaster or awesome. Considering most of the roleplaying group most likely is sweaty nerds that'll probably freak over a drow woman coming to their RT game, I'm not actually sure what advice I should give. But yeah, dress comfortably. You're probably going to be sitting down a lot. Think of it as interactive storytelling. That kind of roleplaying. Seriously, a hundred pages on dice rolls for guns and not even a paragraph about capitalization exposure or inventory management? What kind of shoddy merchant-game is this? At least Reccetear had the basics of mercantilism right. |

My mind is still blown. And yeah, don't take anything from the RT ruleset that seriously. It's supposed to be an absurdly over the top game about being rockstar pirates in space flying giant spacecathedrals. |

I get the impression a DH/RT game with you as GM would be awesome. |
