So this "Rogue Trader" thing apparently has nothing to do with Sarbanes-Oxley

I've been having this casual thing with this intern chap from down the street. (Not OUR intern. That doesn't actually fly here.) Anyway, at one point I casually ask whey he won't schedule anything on Saturdays, and I can immediately tell he doesn't want to say anything. So I yank his chain a bit, and eventually he says he has a "role playing group." When I express surprise at not being invited, he looks even more confused. Turns out this version of roleplaying has nothing to do with "I'm a bad girl who needs smiting."

So apparently he goes to this other fellow's apartment, with some other people, and they roll dice, and things? Anyway, I'm going next Saturday. Anyone know about this? How do I win? More importantly, how do I dress? I mean, there's informal and then there's informal and then there's handcuffs, you know?

Well, he's an undead and stuck in a single form. You are an organic life form and infinitely malleable. It seems you have it better (though I have to say I have a bias for being alive).

There's nothing stopping him from just using magic to take other forms though, is there? As far as I know, death knights aren't immune to polymorphing. And as for being not alive, eh. From what the undead people I and my ancestors have known over the years have said, it's not that different. You just need to eat and breathe less.

Honestly, the undead and constructs skeeve me out a bit.

I know it shouldn't, and I try to fight it since it is a racist thought, but the idea of a creature with completely artificial wants and needs seems a bit... off. I mean, I might take the form of something inanimate, but I still have needs and wants dictated by my biology.

I don't know. I just want to apologize in advance if I ever say something insensitive.

"Undead" is not a race, but a form of being. A human wizard, a human skeleton and a human vampire are still all human.

...are they? I mean, a human skeleton and vampire had different motivations and needs then the base creature they came from, all artificially generated due to their new form.

They started being something new. They did not stop being human.

Hmm. I'll have to think on that then. I never looked at it that way. I'm just so used to dividing creatures by modes of reproduction, I guess. Undead fall under a category of reproduction I cannot understand at all.

It's magic. It does not need to be explained.

I know, but I like to know the how of things. I'm methodical. If I am going to pretend to be an object, I'm going to make sure I'm more real then the object itself. I spend quite a bit of time with furniture and electronics getting all the small details right. Looking like a chair and actually being the chair is two entirely different things.

My crowning moment was when a blind-sense creature that saw through heat actually disregarded me, actually focusing his attention on a real dresser long enough for me to get the drop on him.

Wait, can you turn into a working piece of electronics? Could you turn into a working computer?
