I do not have a "hobby" of sorts as I am unable to enjoy things since my raising, yet this seems the right place to adress this. For me there is only my work, and with my work come my weapons. My rune weapon is a claidheamh mòr which The Master had claimed from a Scottish nobleman. During the centuries I have collected many weapons, and have learned to forge them myself. Unfortunately they have significantly lost use over the centuries, and everyone uses firearms now.

Do any of you have knowledge about projectileless weapons, either their use or their forging?

I'm a fan of simply crushing people in a vice-like grip. Anyone else here into that?

Well, I tended to prefer spears, surprisingly, and a pair of short swords.
Though I mostly tended to use spells. Though some of my favorites was when I got a reinforced bayonet fixture to an M1 Garand capable of accepting Spell Channeling. That was a beauty. Sadly I had to return it after my contract was ended.

If I was in the habit of hurting people, that's probably how I'd do it. My tail is pretty strong, and I've never used a weapon in combat before (although I do have training with most martial weapons, given that the best way to know if you've done a proper job crafting a weapon is to be trained in the use of said weapon.) Plus, my tail is hot enough (in more ways than one, if you've got an appreciation for tailed girls ;) ) to hurt people.

That said, I've never really hurt anyone on purpose before. I mostly just make weapons. The falcata is a personal favorite though, and probably what I'd use if I couldn't use my tail. (or perhaps in addition to my tail?)

Oh! A salamander! I have to say, back in my old days your people gave me a bit of a puzzle when figuring out how to eliminate adventurers. Apparently you are extremely hot, but not acid-proof!

That said, kudos on keeping the crushing up. I'd recommend using your tail, since you can't lose that!

As far as I know, that's true.

It's not your fault, but I just got the mental image of me losing my tail, and it was very nearly traumatic just to think about.

I think I may be due for a blade upgrade. I've been trying to learn how to power it up myself by imbuing it with sacred power.

HUUUUURRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR

and a mantis blade is an odd weapon. it's a swept back blade that follows the contours of the arm, with a handle in the front. it's not all that commonly used anymore

Isn't a mantis blade just a curved weapon held backwards?

sort of, it's basically a bladed tonfa.

So a mantis blade is basically a sawtooth sabre, in one of the more common fighting styles for it, without the advantage of being able to be wielded like a normal sword if desired, or the sawtooth sabre's propensity for tearing unprotected flesh to shreds. I can see why I've never heard of it before.

That said, it still doesn't explain how you think a greatsword with a funky handle is a viable training weapon for a style that uses a pair of fast, one-handed weapons with little reach. It's all wrong.
