Military Upkeep These costs do not include the cost of equipping a unit with firearms, artillery pieces, or other things of that sort. This is solely for standard, peace-time maintenance. In general, try to use historical budget figures if you can find them. If you cannot, use the following formula as a rule of thumb: Yearly maintenance = 1.3 * your GDP per capita * number of soldiers Army Operations In addition to basic maintenance, you must also pay for operations if you want to send your soldiers on a campaign. Operations cost = Number of soldiers participating * your GDP per capita * z. Where z is: 1 for minor operations 2 for middle size operations 3 for large size operations Naval Maintenance Yearly ship maintenance = 10% of the construction cost. Yearly sailor pay / maintenance = 1.3 * your GDP per capita * number of sailors |
