Scientific Name - Boa dumerili

Natural Range - Madagascar and Reunion Island

Size - 6 to 7 feet sometimes even larger

Similar Species - The Madagascan ground boa is found in similar habitat and range.

Temperature and Lighting - 59-78 degrees F. The region where these animals come from is not overly hot. They can tolerate higher temperatures and I would keep them at about 84 on the hot end and 70 on the cool end.

Humidity - 40% (Similar to that of a BP)

Diet - When young, rat pups and mice, as they mature you can start giving them chicks, large rats, and guinea pigs.

Temperament - These boas aren't known to be super aggressive but there is the rare case that they will bite. All snakes are individuals and some bite more then others. Aggression is more likely to be when young.

Housing - When young a sterilite tub thats around 40 qts will work fine. As they grow older, move them into something like a boaphile, vision, or custom cage that they can easily stretch out and turn around in. Bedding can be orchid bark, towels, newspaper, pre cut liner, or aspen. A hide should be given on both ends if your snake is small enough and a water bowl that they can get into to soak. Plants, branches, and rocks are optional.

Potential Problems -
some young ones are problem feeders, other then that, no problems are usually found in these awesome snakes.
