It was a day of mixed results for tennis fans in the Green and Pleasant Dominion. The top seeded Simon Boyd had gone down to defeat in the second round of the WASP Cup, much to the shock of tennis fans. ![]() Meanwhile, the scrappy Khan MacNally had fought his way to the third round, with fans chanting the expressive player’s first name like they were at a sci fi convention. Khan now gets ready for a match against a regional rival from the Grendels. ![]() Natasha Chan had come into the tournmant injured and lost in the second round, to end what would have been an uphill struggle. ![]() Favourite, Mimi Sovostyanov continued to shine and was preparing for her third round match, against Sofie Castenschoild of Ananke II.

Winners of Women & Men Quarter Finals along with Several Highlights and Tomorrow Semi Final Matchup can be seen Bellow ![]() ![]() ![]() Women The top-ranked Conchita Chiquitta from Nine Billion Names of Snow was pushed all the way by Agatha von Flemings from Picos Elissa de los Tres Valles, who matched her in the heavy-hitting rallies. Chiquitta main problem was the ability to lower her power while she was forced to go to the net. 5 out of 7 volley shots in the 2nd set went out of the court, even her Smash directed to the right sideline corner went out by 10cm. Chiquitta claimed the first set after heavy rally and several duce’s from 5:5 to 7:5, she did however lose the other two sets to Flemings. :tennis1: Durthag from Malkir who by now have showed her craving for a clean 2 sets win, has amazed the audience again when in the 2nd Set, at 4:3 in favor of her opponent Aviana Tounie from 3lit3, Her rival decided to hit the ball to Durthag feet and Durthag had to use A Half volley to save her game, which she did – landing 4:4. From then on, Durthag gained her confidence back going from a defense approach to an Aggressive Cross Court Rallies. She won the QF Round 6:3 6:4. :tennis1: Sofie Castenschiold from Ananke II encountered a rather strong opposition from her rival Peach Toadstool from Randomain. While Toadstool a tactician used strong cross courts to make Castenschiold run from one side to the next, before “serving” her a drop shot which she couldn’t reach, Taking the 1st set 6:3. Unfortunately Castenschiold who is a quick learner, decided to change tactics and move from a baseline strokes to volley. Castenschiold can be seen moving to the net for approach backhand volley: The Two fought for 2:20 hours before Castenschiold won 3:6 7:5 7:5.![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Men Unlike the Women matches that resembled more of a tedious battle of the titans. The Games on the men side were much cleaner. Although stunts were like sand. Denis Krkic from Galicia-Volhynia had an hard time during the 1st set against Tristan Thacker from Flemingisa in the QF. It seems Krkic while preferring the net for a quick win as he demonstrated in previous rounds, was countered by extremely low (almost touching the net) Cross Court Passing shots which were impossible to return. He lost the 1st set 5:7 to Thacker. He did however change tactics, going out of his center court comfort zone and was able to do a clean finish of 6:3 6:0 winning the Match. A caption of Thacker smashing his racket with his leg after he lost the match ![]() :tennis1: Khan MacNally from The Bruce met Christopher Ward from Texas Surfer Dudes in the QF, while most of the match was based on strong rallies. One of the most amazing scene from MacNally was his end of the match winning point. MacNally Hit a Lob shot in order to str8 his position after a long cross court rally. Ward rushed to the Center and answered with a smash which MacNally was able to return with a great forehand slice stroke that entered the court in between Ward and the baseline, which of course ward couldn’t answer to, resulting in a win for MacNally. ![]() ** Tomorrow will be the last day of the W.A.S.P CUP with Semi Final Rounds starting from 10Am and Finals scheduled to 5Pm and 7 Pm ** |

It’s been clear blue skies with less than 2kmh winds since early morning and we were told the weather wont changed till the end of the day. While the Semi Final rounds were finished both in men and women half an hour ago the waves of horrors still linger…… ![]() Tim Horton Jr. from The Candy Lane was fighting to stay in the lead, against Khan MacNally from The Bruce in the Semi Finals. He was able to dominate the first two games of the 1st set with powerful cross court rallies with MacNally, before Macnally decided he had enough and resorted to cross court passing shots & drop shots which required Horton to get closer to the net – a weak spot for him. Of course that didn’t stop Horton from demonstrating his usual Theatrical maneuvers as one can see in this caption during 5:3 in (40:love ) in favor of MacNally. ![]() Horton Eventually lost to MacNally who took the match 6:3 6:3 ~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~- Another Truly Epic fail was seen in the Women Semi Finals..... Mindy Spears from Texas Surfer Dude decided she had nothing to lose, eating during court side changes A Beefy Texan sweet snack which seemed to have effected her Mental - visual and what not capacity. During the final set she had slow pace cross court returns along with very weak volley - mostly on a defensive. At 6:4 5:7 3:5 in favor of Yanina Whickmayer from Jahmurai, Spears decided to hit a top spin serve which hit the net. Her Second Serve which was captured in this video has sealed the game. She tried to hit a Second strong serve (usually a bad idea) only this time a slice one. Not only she missed the ball but it also hit her forehead.... ![]() Whickmayer won 6:3 5:7 3:6 ** The Finals 1st Part will start at 3:30pm and expected to be done around 5pm ** * The Titans Round will Start at 5:30 and we Assume that by 8pm we will know who's the Man & Woman Winners of the W.A.S.P CUP * |

The Finals 1st Part is Over with 2 Winners in the Women Singles & 2 in the Men Singles ![]() ![]() As we learned to expect from MacNally urges to give a clean match. MacNally had full control of the match against Benjamin Carver from Lone Star Diplomatic Mission. His Method throughout the 2 sets were to use mostly strong 2-3 cross court (hitting to one side or next) shots before resorting to a down the line. Carver might have brought a full Battery to the match but he was soon depleted by the running after the balls. As one can see in this photo taken by W.A.S.P Sport Channel – Carver is barely reaching the ball... ![]() Of course that resulted in some loud noises from the crowed and this snappy lady … ![]() MacNally did lose his grip when Carver served him the entire first game of the 2nd set with Kick Serves, which were hard to judge as to where the ball might go after hitting the ground but overall it didn’t stop MacNally from taking the Match 6:3 6:1 MacNally will be going up against Georgy Rommel from NeoPacificus in The Titans Round. ~~~~~~------~~~~~~------~~~~~~ Durthag from Malkir had an interesting match against Lemuria Arulia from NeoPacificus After saving break points in a 12-minute opening service game, Durthag rapidly built a 5-0 lead. Lemuria, who had won her last 2 matches in just two sets as her opponent, wasn’t ready to go down without a fight, and won 4 of the next games resulting in 4:6 in favor of Durthag. Lemuria did lead lead 3-0 in the second set before Durthag was able to take control of the game. However it didn’t last long due to Lemuria Heavy Volley Approach tactics which resulted in a quick 6:3 win to Lemuria. The last round as it turned out was a must win for either of the players. Durthag led 4:1, losing the 6th game to Lemuria who managed to surprise Durthag with a nice Outside In ball to the right corner. Unfortunately for Lemuria the small win didn’t last long as Durthag started Rally Lemuria first with Heavy Cross Court and won the Match 6:4 3:6 6:2 One Can see a caption of Lemuria Auralia , Seconds after losing the match.... ![]() Durthag will go against Yanina Wickmayer from Jahmurai in The Titans Round |

It is not surprising that the strong Orc women of Malkir are able to conquer puny other races. The abject failure of both the Witch King and Khamul is an absolute disgrace and both will be stripped of their rings of power if they ever set foot in Malkir again. |

Yanina, The Belgian Fury Wickmayer, has raged through the previous rounds as if it were nothing. The one and only beauty of Mordor is now determined to make the bikini orc knee for her. Handling all kinds of rockets, Yanina is eager to win this cup for the honor of Jahmurai and Mordor. When we asked her to describe the previous match against zh 'Shune in 24 words, she told us the following : "Zh'Shune did her outer best, but I could feel from the beginning of the match that it would be a soft ball to hit." When we asked Yanina about the next match against a fellow Mordorian, she answered the following "I think Durthag needs a bath more than she needs to win this tournament, either way I will wash that little orc." We all hope in Jahmurai that the determined Yanina will bring the cup back to it's rightful home. |

Battle of Titans![]() :tennis1: ![]() Yanina Wickmayer from Jahmurai dropped the first set in just 27 minutes, hitting 18 unforced errors to just two winners. Durthag from Malkir, who had lost several years ago to Wickmayer, kept the pressure on by breaking serve to lead 5-3 in the second. After failing to serve out the match, the Malkir got to match point in the 8th game, with a chance to score her first win against Wickmayer. ....After an exhausting process of chasing balls…. Unfortunately for Durthag, The tennis gods had other plans. With what can only be called as Divine Intervention – and a perfectly timed Hawkeye review…. Yanina Wickmayer can be seen in this Epic Over Head Smash caption – great posture ….& what a Smile of Victory. .….As she hit the ball to the side right corner at 5:1 turning it to 6:1. ![]() :flash: Yanina took the Match 2:6 7:5 6:1 & The W.A.S.P CUP :flash: ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ The Battle in the Men Titans Round was a sure colossal of strokes !!! You could have seen everything from Back spin lobs to Top spin drop shots to down the line to High & Volleys truly an amazing fight.… Employing tactics straight out of the Book, Georgy Rommel came in with a clear game plan and committed to it from the start. He was taking his backhand early and hitting it with conviction. He was ripping his forehand cross-court into MacNally backhand. He crushed short balls with his cross-court backhand and inside-out forehand. Across the net, Khan MacNally had an hard time - struggling simply to win points on Rommel serves. His reluctant to move from an full offense during the 1st set, caused him to lose 2:6 in favor of Rommel. MacNally decided to go from full blown Rally Tactics that showed no progress for him in the 1st set to slow pace calculated attacks. He used mostly short shots in order to bring Rommel counter hits to normal pace …. He was able to reach 5:4 when Rommel decided to hit one of his Cross Court Passing shots unfortunate for Rommel he hit it with such a temper that the ball went too high above the net and down the center line…. ....Which Khan MacNally had some difficulty returning – resulting in a Backhand Lob that Rommel answered with a Cross Court (right side) stroke and which was returned by MacNally with a Clean Down the line , winning the 2nd set 6:4. ![]() MacNally against his better judgment decided to return to Powerful Cross mix shots with Down the line rallies which proven to be a mistake in the first set. It seemed that for the first part of the 3rd set his old tactics brought him 2 games advantage resulting in 2:0, and made Rommel stretch his legs to the fullest while trying to reach the ball, as one can see in this epic top spin posture caption...... ![]() At the 3rd game of the 3rd set, Rommel managed with a BackSpin Drop shot to take the 3rd game. Giving him some hope. He then used most of the 4th game to lure MacNally to the net and gave him an extremely unfriendly kick lob to the right which MacNally was able to reach but wasn’t able to hit as the ball sprung in the opposite direction as MacNally thought it would. At 2:2 Rommel Gained his Now or Never tactics and went on full Center Court Offense, mostly using an Aggressive Drive Volley shots – rushing to the ball and top spinning it & High Volley shots giving the balls a backswing twists. :flash: The Match Ended with Georgy Rommel Taking 2:6 6:4 6:2 & The W.A.S.P CUP :flash: |

yanina only had 1 thing to say after her victory against Durthag : "It was like a handwrestle in the acquisition of time : make your oponnent believe she has the match, and strike when she least expects it...during the moment she thinks victory is hers. I am more than honored to bring the cup back to Jahmurai." Edited by Jahmurai, Jan 27 2015, 06:57 PM.
