FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE...

MRC APPLAUDS TWO TOWERS FOR RATIFICATION OF MAJORITY DEFINITION AMENDMENT

Amendment Seen as First Step to a More Democratic Mordor

With the signature of the White Wizard today, Mordor amended its constitution for the first time in order to define a "majority" as being 50.1% or greater. This amendment was seen by its supporters as a necessary step to ensure more democratic principles shall prevail in Mordor.

The amendment was first proposed by MRC Chairman and Nazgul Councilor Tadin in response to the controversial election for the Denizen seat in the Nazgul two months ago. "It was a long battle, but in the end Mordor did what is right for the Denizen," Tadin said. "I am grateful for the support of Sauron and Aule for their signatures. I congratulate them on their judgement and wisdom during this debate."

Chairman Tadin shall make a speech on the ratification shortly.

Today, we have become a region that has promise. We took a first step forward into becoming a thriving region. One that is on its way to awesome growth. One that has potential for all nations who join. We took on the hard fight to define a majority in our constitution in a way that is fair to the denizen and we prevailed.

I'd like to thank all the members of the Nazgul that helped us pass this amendment. I would also like to thank the Two Towers for officially ratifying this amendment. They have stepped up to provide the denizen with the first step towards democratic reform in Mordor.

We send a powerful message with this ratification. We let everyone in the denizen know that we are committed to providing them with fair representation in government. We sent the message that even in a region that professes a desire to be corrupt, we do not expect it to be in the form of a despotic government. Properly elected officials is the first step to creating a region that allows anyone to become someone.

While we certainly should celebrate the passage of this first amendment to our constitution, we shouldn't celebrate too long. We have more work to do. We still have more progress we have to make in order to continue to provide opportunity to all of the denizen. We need to codify our elections, so we have a clear, efficient path to each election. We need to establish a court system so everyone knows fairness and due process in Mordor. We need to start working on legislation that will build up our government so everyone can get involved in expanding Mordor. And we need to continue to recruit so we continue to stay a vital region.

Once again, I thank everyone's hard work on passing the Majority Definition Amendment. It should be comforting to the Denizen to know that in spite of our dramatic and feverish debates, we can still get things done. In the end, Mordor will always do what is needed to thrive.
