Bordertown - wow, this movie was intense. I liked it. I generally only like Jennifer Lopez in her comedic, romance roles. But she definitely had a passion and anger in this movie that fit in really well with the storyline. It was a different role for her, and it fit. The Kingdom - man, I forgot how violent and depressing this movie was. Jennifer Gardner was kick-ass though. |

Technically, "The Duchess" is being released today. But it is not in theaters here yet. Can't wait for this one--Scott will definitely be seeing something else while I check this one out. |

I don't think I've seen a single preview for The Duchess. Finally watched The Golden Compass this weekend. I still have to read the book, but from what I know they definitely did a lot to avoid the anti-religious references. Other than that it was a decent movie. Nothing overwhelmingly spectacular (except the special effects) but it wasn't awful either. I hope they go ahead and make the 2 sequels, otherwise the first one just leaves you hanging. |

Watched Bee Movie which I enjoyed. And I watched Margot at the Wedding which I found unbelievably boring. I watched most of it in fast forward mode

"I don't think I've seen a single preview for The Duchess." --I saw the preview a long time ago when I saw "Atonement." The movie has been finished for a while. It was supposed to come out several months ago, but got pushed back. "LOL - yeah, there's no chance I can get Mike to watch another period film." --Another? Scott won't even watch one, LOL. I don't blame him--I don't want to torture him with that stuff. They practically lessen my manhood, and I'm not even a man LOL! We just split up in the theater--divide and conquer. He sees some dumb-ass movie I wouldn't spend the money or time on. And I watch my tear-jerking, melodramatic period films. |

The Bank Job - All the reviews and such heap praise on this movie. It's billed as this great action/thriller. For about 45 minutes, that's what it is. The problem is the movie is 2 hours long. I was bored out of my skull for the other 75 minutes.Nim's Island - really cute movie. The cast was wonderful and the added animation was very cool. I'll probably end up buying it. |

Oh and I saw The Guardian over the weekend too. (I love premium channels!) Decent enough movie - storyline was predictable and all. Ashton was pretty cute in this movie. I'm used to seeing him in his cheesy comedies. |

On the plane ride to SF, I watched Iron Man which was pretty good. On the way back to Mtl, I watched What Happens in Vegas which wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. |

I thought Enchanted was adorable too. Watched Charlie Wilson's War - interesting movie especially with all that's going on in the world right now. Found myself thinking if only the US had bothered to finish what it started back then. Saw a trailer for Australia the other day. It looks really good - wasn't on my gotta see list before but it is now. |

I watched The Man in the Iron Mask again the other day (nothing else was on). I really like the storyline of that movie - but my gosh, the acting was awful. Leonardo diCaprio has come a really long way from his earlier work. |

Saw the trailer for "Appaloosa," Viggo's new movie. Yeah, I'm there! It looks like something I'd like. He looks yummy as usual too. And Jeremy Irons is in it too, who I also really like. |
