Well I haven't seen a movie in the theatre in months but I do get TMN and have been taping movies. I finally got the time to watch a few:

Thumbsucker - weird
Rent - loved it (I've seen the play before and thought the movie was just as good - if not better)
Rumor Has It - good
Failure to Launch - ok
The Family Stone - it was ok - I didn't enjoy it like I thought I would
Lemony Snicket - ok
The Matador - not that good
Match Point - good
Christmas With the Kranks - not good. Book is slightly better (it's called Skipping Christmas by John Grisham)

Boy - you really know how to use your time. You watch movies as fast as you read. :P

One of my friends was a dancer in Rent. I loved that movie!

Yesterday I watched Elizabethtown which I found long for a movie that didn't really have much to it.

And I watched Tristan & Isolde which was ok. I wasn't thrilled with the ending but I loved looking at Melot!! The actor played the son in The Count of Monte Cristo - gosh he looked gorgeous in T&I!!

Really? He played the son? ITA - he's nice to look at.

T&I was okay. The previews looked much better than the actual movie.

I read the first book but haven't gotten around to finishing the trilogy off.

Yeah - can you believe he was the son?? I was watching T&I and I thought he looked familiar so I imdb-ed him and saw he played Albert in COMC. Wow - what a difference between movies! Not that he wasn't good looking in COMC - but I saw him as a child really - with stuffy shirts and awful hair.

T&I is a triology? Didn't know that......

Well, Rosalind Miles wrote a trilogy series based on the Tristan & Isolde story. The T&I movie is completely different from the book, IMO. It didn't resemble RM's book at all. So I think the movie was just one interpretation of the story.

Me too Mary--I read the first, but haven't got to the other 2. I got a book gift card, and was thinking about picking up the second soon.

Yeah - the movie is a very loose interpretation to the book.

My problem with the movie is that I felt for the King (forgot his name). I think the story would have had more impact if the King was more villainous. But I could see him as a man you could respect and love - so I sympathized with the betrayal he felt in the end.

I saw Step Up the other day.

It was okay. The final dance was mediocre IMO. I actually liked the dance they did at the club.

But Channing.....YOWZA - boy is hot. AND he dances.

I've seen some more movies:

The Producers: it was ok - long song segments though. I found myself ff through them. But Will Ferrell was great!

In Her Shoes: was pretty good. I've read the book and I thought the movie did a pretty good job of sticking with the book

Chronicles of Narnia: loved it! :thumbsup

Derailed: it was ok - I probably would have liked it more if I didn't already know how it was going to end (I had someone tell me the plot when the movie came out and she saw it in the theatre - I didn't think I'd ever watch it)

I liked Chasing Liberty. The guy in the movie is also in Match Point (in case you cared LOL)

I watched Rocky. Yes, the movie has been out for 30 years but I finally saw it! It was pretty good. It's amazing how different it looked compared to movies of today. The whole look and feel of it was something new for me. I also have Rocky II, III, and IV taped. I hope to watch at least II this coming weekend.....I would have taped V too but I heard it's the worst one. (In case you're wondering, they had a Rocky marathon on New Year's Day on one of the movie channels I have)
