I didn't watch Sex and the City in order when it was on. My girlfriends and I did the SATC tour in New York one year, and I did a crazy catch-up marathon on the flight over, but didn't have all the dvds. LOL!

Watched Fighting with Channing Tatum and one of the guys from Stomp the Yard. Very VERY nice to look at, but storyline was only okay.

Hoping to see either Sherlock Holmes or Avatar this week.

Standing ovation for Avatar. One of the best movies I've seen in a long time! It's up there with the Lord of the Rings trilogy in graphic masterpieces and creativity. The design team must have had so much fun creating this world, it's creatures and it's people. Loved it!

We saw it in 3D which I thought made it extra special.

Saw a few movies during my time off.

Curious Case of Benjamin Button: It took me awhile to watch this one because I don't like Brad Pitt. But I finally watched it and thought it was wonderful. I still don't like Brad Pitt, but it was a really great movie.

Revolutionary Road: Great acting - DiCaprio and Winslet were amazing. But I hated the movie.

I Love You, Man: If you thought by the previews and commercials that it looked stupid, you were right.

17 Again: I actually enjoyed this more than I thought it would. It was a good movie and Zac Efron is going to have a nice long career ahead of him. He's not that bad an actor and I can see him improving with each movie he makes.

Sunshine Cleaning: Didn't know what the movie was really about but I did like it.

I have seen Benjamin button either - mainly because I can't stand Pitt too.
Yeah, ITA about I Love You Man - but the air guitar scenes crack me up! lol

Notorious was on HBO last night and I was surprised at how much I actually liked it. I've always been a huge fan of Tupac Shakur and always wondered what happened between him and Big. I'm bummed that the East Coast/West Coast rivalry resulted in the deaths of these 2 artists. I liked them both and thought they both were fabulous.

And man, I never knew about BIG's and Lil Kim's affair. Yikes! I wonder how she felt about the onscreen interpretation. I thought Diddy was portrayed way too soft. He's arrogant. Even his MTV documentary showed how arrogant his is. I didn't really get that in this film.

So I saw Dear John and want to say this:

All those people who say that the female body is more beautiful than the male body, have not seen Tatum Channing hanging out on the beach in this movie. :flirty

Oh! I watched it last night with my co-workers. LOVE Channing...he made the movie completely worth it for me. LOL! Oh man, that man in his surf trunks with his "half moons" on display. YUM!

As for the movie itself. it was okay. Typical Nicholas Sparks type movie. I actually preferred all of the subplots over the actually love story. John and his dad absolutely stole and broke my heart.

I enjoyed watching Amanda Seyfriend. Loved her in Mamma Mia, so I was looking forward to seeing her in another role.

I saw it Thursday night, and my friend was kept saying, this is sad, or this is depressing, and I kept saying this is Nicholas Sparks! I had to remind her that some of his fans call him a serial killer!

So how does the movie end? I hear it's different than the book.

I wasn't a big fan of the ending of the book so I'd like to know the ending of the movie.

I have not read the book (I was waiting to see the movie first), but my friend and I thought it ended a bit abruptly. I hear that the military aspect was downplayed a bit in the movie, whatever that means.

In a weird way, the movie made me miss the military. It made me remember where I was during 9/11 and what my thoughts were. I had received my official discharge papers not long before 9/11, which pretty much meant that they could never call me back to service unless there was a draft. My reserve status was over (after you do active duty there is a period of time during which you are considered inactive reserve and they can call you back at any time during that period). And I remember being at work that day, watching the chaos unfold in NYC from our conference room, and wondering what the hell I was doing there in that office and who cares about our stupid magazine deadlines, and I just really wanted the military to call me and say 'come back, we need you.'

I am not sure the the movie was meant to make me feel that way, I am pretty sure I was supposed to be focusing on the love story!

I really liked the military aspect of it. Unfortunately it reminded me of when I left my ex to get with Mike. He was on duty when Mike and I met in college. Ack! No regrets of course, but it did make me feel bad getting a glimpse of what it could/must be like. It also made my sympathize with the girl's point of view. While my friends were enjoying sorority parties and going out on dates, I was sitting by the phone hoping I'd get a phone call. It's not easy watching your life go by - for both sides.

I'm going to pick up the book just to see what the differences are.

ITA, the ending was weird and abrupt. Far too "easy" in my opinion.
