I didn't like how Charlie just accepted all the random supernatural phenomena, including Bella changing, without questioning it more. I didn't get that at all. In the movie, she was just like "don't ask, it's better if you don't know" and he's just like "ok." Does he get more of an explanation in the book? I will not read these books...I will not read these books...LOL (don't wanna get sucked in

He knows in the book - I'd have to re-read those parts for specifics, but he knew after Jacob told him. |

Anyone else see The Hobbit? I wasn't particularly impressed. I just kept thinking that I'd rather be at home watching LOTR on dvd. However, both my brothers & my nephew loved it (lots of battle scenes, special effects, etc.) Maybe I just miss my man Aragorn! |

I want to see it, but like you - I'd probably compare it too much to the LOTR movies. The CGI graphics look so incredible though! |

definitely going to go see it within a week or so. And yeah, I wasn't fond of the book much, but I have to go see the movie. I will miss my main man of course. Wish i had time to watch the movies, even with winter break, i'm not so sure. lol. I'd rather get reading done.

I saw The Hobbit last weekend. Enjoyed it. Peter Jackson still has a way of creating absolutely fantastical worlds. I told myself going in to treat it completely separate from LOTR, mostly because of the difference in tone between the books. It was fun to see so many of the original actors back - especially the cameo appearances. So glad I didn't see it in 3D. I'm not a fan of 3D to begin with so it wasn't really an option. In watching I could tell where the big 3D "moments" were and I know I would have been nauseous. |

Watched the Dark Knight Rises....it started off a little slow for me, but I ultimately enjoyed it. And the more movies I see him in, the more I really like Joseph Gordon-Levitt. I loved him in Inception, and really liked him in this film. Spoiler: click to toggle

trying very hard to not click the spoilers...I haven't seen Dark Knight Rises yet Saw Les Miserables. Thought it was really, really good. Hugh Jackman is amazing as Valjean. And Anne Hathaway was heartbreaking as Fantine. Not sure Russell Crowe was the right pick for Javert -mostly because his vocal range is a bit small. Still not a Sasha Baron Cohen fan. I actually thought he made Thenardier less fun - like he took everything too seriously. One of my favorite moments though was when I realized early on that Colm Wilkinson was the Bishop. He was the original Valjean in London and on Broadway. His voice is still beautiful. oh and the song A Little Fall of Rain still makes me cry. Every time. |

Finally watched The Other Boleyn Girl. I've always avoided it because of how it ends....and seeing Eric Bana in a mean role just didn't do anything for me. I liked the film, but the consipiracies and plots of that time period are always so hard to watch. It must be mentally and emotionally draining to be a pawn in that era. |

End of Watch - disturbing and sad. Not a great film, but it kept me interested all the way through. Plus I like Jake Gyllenhaal. I liked how all the crimes linked together. |
