Argo - Highly recommend this one. Lots of edge of your seat moments. I had to keep reminding myself that I know what happened to the six and how the crisis ended. I'm not surprised that it's won a number of awards. As much as I loved Les Mis, Argo is now my pick for the Best Picture Oscar.

Unstoppable - pretty good action movie. Fun to watch knowing that the runaway train incident that inspired the movie happened not far from where I live (and wasn't even close to being that dramatic)

Finally saw Breaking Dawn Part 2. It was my favorite of the 5 movies, but the second half of the book was the only part I remotely liked reading. I find Edward and Bella's relationship nauseating. I really liked the fight in the movie...though it wasn't real.

Finally saw Hunger Games...still have to read the book, lol. I liked it but felt like I was missing something.

Mirror Mirror - this was better than I thought it would be. Not great, but better. Julia Roberts was amusing. I'd forgotten that Sean Bean was in it, so that was a nice surprise near the end.

Beautiful Creatures - decent YA based on a book movie. I thought it was better than Twilight (though to be fair, that didn't take much). The cast is pretty stellar - Jeremy Irons, Emma Thompson, Viola Davis. I even liked the actors playing the teen characters. Lots of humor. The problem was the big battle/climatic fight fell flat. Think I might pick up the book now to see if it's any different.

Hoping to see The Host this weekend. I'll check out reviews to see if waiting for the DVD is a better option. LOL

Totally enjoyed Les Miserables! Hugh Jackman was great. Ann Hathaway was awesome. I still prefer the Broadway show, but still a great movie adaptation. Totally cried at the end.

Iron Man 3 - I loved it. It's a Robert Downey Jr movie so what's not to love, lol. Not sure Guy Pearce's character was the best choice for a villain, but Ben Kingsley was fantastic.

If you see it, stay through the credits. The very last scene is hilariously awesome. (Can't believe so people left when the credits started to roll...don't they know how these movies work by now?)

Now gotta wait for Avengers 2...

I won't be able to get to see my boyfriend, errrr, I mean Superman this weekend. Hoping to see it ASAP. I see pretty much no movies in theaters, so this is something to look forward to.

I've seen both versions of The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo. I prefer Naomi Rapace's adaptation of Lisbeth and ther Swedish version as a whole.

Also watched Moneyball. Not sure how much they changed in the movie. As a baseball fan it was interesting to see. big market vs. small market

Still haven't watched either version of GWTDT. Hopefully one day I'll get around to it.

Saw The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones this weekend. It was better than I thought it would be but nothing spectacular. They changed a lot from the book - especially in the second half. Some changes were good (they de-Harry Pottered a few things thankfully), others made no sense. Excellent casting of Lena Headley and Lilly Collins as mother and daughter - they look a lot alike.

Watched Life of Pi and really loved it. I loved the book and thought the movie adaptation was well done. The film itself was really visually beautiful.

Saw The Hobbit: Desolation of Smaug. I liked it, but it felt very much like the middle part of a trilogy. It's major function was to get you to part 3.

I actually liked Evangeline Lilly as elf.

And I've come to the conclusion that Lee Pace is an awesome actor...yet again I spent the movie trying to figure out why he seemed a bit familiar but ddn't recognize him until the credits

Now You See Me - I liked this one a lot. Way more than I thought I would. Lots of red herrings and twists. The biggest twist I didn't see coming until right before the reveal.

The Monuments Men - pretty good movie with an excellent cast. Really like that they put a spotlight on a part of WWII that most people don't know about.

We watched Frozen last night. It was okay. I think I got the case of "hype overload" because I didn't think it was as good as everyone was saying. I'm usually a sucker for those Disney songs, and "Let It Go" was good, but not particularly inspiring.
