LOL - yep - both kids will be getting a lot of Moana stuff this Christmas. And Malia wants a Moana party. Luckily I can ask any of my hula sisters to dress up as her so should be easy enough. I loved that movie so much. So well done. The soundtrack was just awesome. I love the work they did with Te Vaka/Opetaia - his polynesian music is absolutely beautiful. They definitely made up for Lilo & Stitch in terms of understanding the culture. lol

Well, I broke down and ordered Rhett a Tervis Moana cup, LOL. It's not a toy, and it's something he will use all the time (these are the cups he uses now that he doesn't really use "kid" cups anymore). There was a cyber-Monday sale, and stores that sell them only carry very limited inventory.

He's still pressing for the boat toy he saw, that I laughed when I read the small print that said "not intended for water"

Awesome! That would be such a cute party idea! Perfect! I wanna come, LOL :)

I like any of the movies, like Brave, that are a little less princessy, and more outside of the box. Having the cultural element was extra cool. I enjoyed the music.

Yes - Brave is one of my other favorites. It's more legend based than fairytale and the musical score is easier for me to connect to.

I much prefer my independent princesses. Which is kinda funny because growing up, The Little Mermaid was one of my favorites. And now, Ariel just pisses me off.

I love Brave! LOL, I used to love the Little Mermaid! That was one of my modern faves back in the day. But, yes, I agree. That movie kind of ticks me off now. The 90s/2000s princesses are tough for me to stomach. I seriously never even liked Beauty & the Beast. I prefer the old school gals, like Snow White & Sleeping Beauty.

LOL - I LOVED Beauty and the Beast! They had me at the library. :) Then I saw it on Broadway and fell in love. Sleeping Beauty is my favorite classic princess.

Sleeping Beauty is my fave classic princess too. I just loved her! I would love a live-action adaptation there, although, I guess they'd need to have her awake for at least some of the film :)
