LOL! I have a friend who could not stand the LOTR movies - she said "Give me the damn ring and I'll destroy it myself!"

they're amazing. i can see why people dont like star wars, it's very futurustic and techy, and some dont like that. But LTOR is an epic. It's awesome...the fight scenes really rock.

If we don't go out tonight, I'll watch tonight. If we go out, I'll watch tomorrow. I can't believe it's taken me so many years to read and watch. I can't wait...

At least you don't have the one year wait between movies. Then another wait for the extended editions. LOL!

LOL--you 2 are so funny. If I had time last weekend, I totally would have barricaded myself inside and watched all 3. But, I ended up being crazy busy.

I finished FOTR, and am halfway through TT, which I hope to finish this week. I really want to see them, but don't have time to sit and watch at once so I'm going piecemeal just so I can get them in.

Honestly though: I really liked FOTR. The production was much better than I thought it would be. It is amazing that PJ could bring the story to life so well. IMO, it is following the books very well, which I love. I'm glad I'm watching the EE cuz some of the scenes that wouldn't normally be there are very good.

My fave scenes so far, of course, are the ones with both Viggo and Sean Bean. Love those! Not loving Liv Tyler as Arwen, leaves me with an icky feeling. Anyway, get away from our Aragorn! But, loved Cate Blanchett as Galadriel. Some of the creatures are really scary looking. OMG, Gollum is annoying me more in the movie than he did in the book. Yeah, he's not a fave.

Hubby's not loving the movies, but says he'll keep watching with me (mostly cuz I'm making him ;-) He said "Why does it take 3 movies to throw that ring into a lava pit?" LOL.

One thing that the movie really brought out for me was Frodo comparing his life to Gollum.

I didn't think much of either character until the movie. The complexity of Frodo's story really came to life. Gollum's life was a picture of what his would be. The emotional toil that it must have brought to Frodo must have been just as difficult as the journey itself. I defintely didn't grasp that fully from the read.

And the whole dual personality didn't dawn on me until the movies either. LOL! And that seemed to be a key element. LOL!

isn't Viggo fabulous as Aragorn?? seriously...they took him right out of my head and on screen. Yeah it was a great scene between Aragorn and Boromir. So many great scenes are coming! i like LIv Tyler as Arwen...but that's just me. lol.
