Ugh - no! I really hope she's not the one that ends up playing Claire. One, KH is gorgeous. Claire was never written to be gorgeous. She was pretty - but a rugged pretty with very messy hair. LOL! And there's a grittiness to Claire that is very absent in KH. I don't think she can pull that grittiness off. KH just comes off too girly, and Claire was definitely not girly. No! I will be very disappointed if this happens. |

Thanks for showing us that article. No! No! No! Glad I have already digested my dinner tonight. I am not a KH fan at all. Boooooring. Yawn. Can't stand that the writer compared her to Carole Lombard. Um, okay. Whatever! I don't think so! Apparently the writer has never seen any CL movies. And, Claire? That bit almost sounds like a joke. ITA with Mary about Claire's characterization. Not to mention, Claire has her posh English accent. I can't imagine KH faking that. And, another reason the writer of the article is a doofus. He calls Claire a Scottish heroine. Um, last time I checked, Claire was not Scottish! |

IF KH ends up playing the part of Claire, I can only assume that any movie adaptation will be a very loose interpretation of the story. They truly would have to change up some of the major details of the story to pull that off. IF they stick to how the story is actually written, I would hope that DG would be in complete opposition of having KH play the role. If I remember correctly, she actually drew her image of Claire and posted it on her blog (I MAY be mixing it up with Elizabeth from The Wilderness Series though). And KH is not even close. Even a fabulous wig and a great make-up artist would likely not convince me. I really don't see it. |

I had a feeling you all wouldn't like that casting idea. I like KH (though she tends to get in her own way a lot) but I can't see her as rugged or harsh. I didn't get the comparison to Carole Lombard either. I see her more as Grace Kelly-esque. Because now I'm curious, is there a particular actress that you can see playing Claire? Or would you prefer an unknown? |

I'm not sure. If they have to make a movie, I hope they go with unknowns. It'd be better to just get to know the characters with no pre-conceived notions other than the books themselves. |

which is why i was thrilled when they went with Viggo as Aragorn. He did some stuff before it, but nothing too big. |

So, believe it or not (yes, believe it) I haven't seen any of the Twilight movies yet. I tried to watch Twilight on Friday, but couldn't make it past the first 1/2 hour. I am definitely not a fan. I didn't think I would be, but wanted to give it a fair shot anyway. OMG, don't hate me, but I thought it was really dumb. I think it is weird that people are so in love with this series. I kept wanting to tell the actors to get a tan :-) Elite, now I know how you feel when you tell me you don't like GWTW ;-) :-) |

The first movie is the worst one (thus far). I know they they didn't have much of a budget, but it was beyond cheesy. I giggled my way through parts of it. I don't get the fanaticism around the series either - it started way before the movies.

I'm with kat - the Twight movie is awful. But New Moon is better and Eclipse is even better than that. But the books are 100% better than the movies. But I hated Eclipse (the book) |

The movie version of The Book Thief is scheduled to be in theaters in November http://www.thebookthief.com/ (not much on the site but a trailer and some still shots) The trailer looks good but I'm a bit concerned that there is nothing about Death as the narrator listed anywhere. Death was such an integral character and was what made the book so unique. I've read that as of the beginning of August they hadn't yet cast the role of Death - it'll be voice overs only so they could do that any time. I hope that's why there's no mention in the first trailer. The author has said on his website/blog that Death will be in the movie. Either way I'm going to have to drag a whole box of tissues to see this in the theater. |

Death better be int he movie. For me, it's what made the book so unique and great. I want to re-read the book, but damn, do I want to spend time re-reading a book I've already read or a newer book? Now that I've read Divergent and Insurgent, I'm curious about the movie. Allegient comes out tomorrow and I already pre-ordered it in my Kindle app. I love my Nook, but I've been reading everything on my phone as of late. |

Still need to see the second Hunger Games and Hobbit Movie. I really want to watch the Lone Survivor. I have the book at home and have struggled reading it because of the photos included in the book of the families and men. It's just too sad. I met Luttrell at a conference one year. He was a keynote speaker. Such an incredible, tragic story.... |

I still need to see Catching Fire too. At this point it'll probably wait until it's on dvd. Looking forward to The Monuments Men. I have the book, but haven't read it. |

the first trailer is out for Gone Girl http://insidemovies.ew.com/2014/04/14/gone-girl-trailer/ I'm a little nervous about this one....loved the book...in a love hate kind of way (neither main character was likable but I couldn't put the book down). I've heard the 3rd act of the movie differs from the 3rd act of the book. Wondering whether that's really true or if it's part of the hype to get people in the theaters this fall. |

I didn't know they were making it into a movie. It'll be interesting if they do change the third part of it. I didn't like either character so I wonder if it will leave us sympathizing with one more so than the other? |
