Gosh, I hated Gone Girl. Kat, I heard that the end is different too. I'll probably see the movie eventually out of curiosity. But I can not stand Ben Affleck. Isn't he the husband? Just wishing there was some eye candy for me

I LOVED Divergent (great adaptation of the book). So far I like this book series way more than Hunger Games. I haven't watched those b/c I just disliked Mockingjay. Lots of moving coming out this summer I have read: The Giver, The Fault in Our Stars, and Gone Girl. And I want to read a few Unbroken and The Maze Runner before they come out. Not that I'm going to end up watching all of these, but I want to get my own vision of the characters and story before I see anything. |

Okay - totally not a fan of the 50 Shades of Grey books. Decided to try out the movie...and nope - they did nothing for me. I was mildly interested when Charlie Hunnam was up for the role but yeah, so glad he passed on it. I just found nothing flattering and heroic about Christian Grey. |

Finally saw the Carey Mulligan version of Far From the Madding Crowd, which is one of my fave books of all time. It was okay. A decent adaptation nowadays, considering the general crap that Hollywood generates. I like Carey as an actress, she just lacks the star quality of Julie Christie. No one can touch Julie. She is one of the most beautiful actresses, ever. The '67 version was very, very true to the book. This 2015 version cut out a few things I would have liked to see. And the costumes & hair drove me crazy cuz they seemed pretty inaccurate. The men in this newer version were crap. They did nothing for me. They could not touch the cuteness of '67 Alan Bates, or the smarmy, suave Terence Stamp. It's worth a watch, but not as good as the '67 version. If you want to watch an adaptation of it & choose one, pick the '67 & skip this one. |

Watched The Giver over the weekend...leaving out the fact I'm so not a fan of Katie Holmes...I just wasn't impressed with the movie. Not even Meryl Streep could impress me. |
