Jackie Chan as Mr Miyagi?

Not sure about that one. I don't even get why they'd re-make The Karate Kid anyway. :thumbsdown

Is Hollywood so completely out of ideas that they need to remake movies that are only 25 yrs old?

That's as bad of an idea as remaking Footloose with Zac Efron.

My thoughts exactly. They seem to be so LAZY! Nothing original.

They're also re-making Teen Witch.

I pretty much hate remakes. Being a film-buff & a classic movie lover, remakes are a big turn off to me. Totally pointless IMO.

Teen Witch too? What's next? St Elmo's Fire with the cast of High School Musical? Stand By Me starring the Jonas Brothers?

I think with the right movie and if it's done right (good writing, believable cast, etc), a remake can work. For example, I thought You've Got Mail was an adorable remake of Shop Around the Corner. But most of the time they end up looking lazy or sloppy or both.

I remember when they did the re-make of The Parent Trap with Lindsay Lohan....Awwwwwwww.FUL! Absolutely hated it. It's bad enough when they make terrible sequels, but re-makes?

The only re-makes that work for me are the ones that I don't realize are actually remakes. LOL! Sort of like BK said.

I am totally against a Karate Kid remake. That movie is close to my heart, not only because I know every word & we watched it a million times as kids, but because my dad's cousin is in it :-) He also played Alan in the TV show "Head of the Class."

My dad's cousin, acting name "Tony O'Dell" was a Cobra Kai in "Karate Kid" (on the left):

So cool!
I always had a little crush on the guy second from the left. LOL!

Yeah, the ORIGINAL had a good cast. Really do not need a re-make.

LMAO!! Yeah, Sinsai is telling Bobby to sweep Daniel's leg (aka take him out illegally in karate)

Sinsai: "Sweep the leg."
Bobby: "But, Sinsai..."
Sinsai: "You got a problem with that?"
Bobby: "No, Sinsai."
Sinsai: "No mercy."

LMAO--I seriously think I know every word to that movie. We use "You got a problem with that?" all the time--we totally stole it from Karate Kid.

Miley Cyrus? ICK.

When did this become a musical? All the comments talk about how at least she can sing. The Footloose I've watched 500 times doesn't have Ariel breaking into song every other scene.
