ITA ITA ITA! Where's my pale Greek God? Grrr. And though I will forgive the tortured facial expressions, I expect less in the next movie. His Bella death scare pretty much cures him of the extreme bloodthirst — or at least lessens it...if you will remember from the books...so I want to see a happier Edward next time around. And yes, the screen version of Mr. Black pretty much stole the show. Edited by Vikks14, Nov 23 2009, 11:54 AM.

Ah, Midnight Sun, my very favorite unfinished book ever! Perfect opportunity to remake Twilight with that one! Sigh. If it ever gets completed ... |

sigh. I wish I lived closer to any of you. No one else wants to go see this with me. I'll either end up going by myself or wait for the dvd (which has to be out before Eclipse in June right?).I hoped New Moon would be better than Twilight. A because of the bigger budget and B because Catherine Hardwick wasn't going to be there to make another big mess of everything. I'd be all for a Twilight remake (please fix the horrible sparkly skin effect) I am loving all the Jacob love I'm hearing from people who've already seen it. *waves you all over to the "dark" side* |

LOL bk. I'm still happy here at the team Edward side. But I know have a newfound respect and joy out of Jacob. <sigh> and his abs. I really enjoyed watching Edward in the early part of the movie. When he's happy, he's so much more enjoyable to watch. So I don't hold that too much against him in this film. He is supposed to be tortured. It was just way too blunt after seeing Jacob's happy time with Bella. |

Well, if you live anywhere near Chicago bk, I would try and go see it with you. I have a sil who I know is willing to see it multiple times...AND she's got it really bad for Jacob...and no, they did not fix the sparkly skin so much...though I really didn't mind it so much in this movie. I'm intrigued by your Catherine Hardwick comment. I had a feeling a new director would help, but I also felt the blame for the first movie also lay with the screenplay....and I do not know much about CH... *OK, edited to say I just checked and the screenwriter is the same, so I guess maybe the director did make all the difference? I thought this was a spot-on, if not entirely favorable, review of the movie: http://www.seacoastonline.com/articles/20091121-ENTERTAIN-911219983?nocache=1 OOPS, how do I delete a dup post? Edited by Vikks14, Nov 24 2009, 10:54 AM.

I agree with some points of the article. I am most definitely a Twilight fan, but I like to think that I can be objective and give credit where it's due/or not due. I give the movie a B overall. And will say that ITA - if the leading actors were better, it would be an A. But I don't think it's them. I happen to like both Stewart & Pattison, before their respective roles in the Twilight Saga. I think they have a chemistry that's hard to fake. I do think that some of their scenes (together and apart) need better direction. KS's screaming in Twilight (when she was bitten) was believable. All of her tortured dreams and screaming in her sleep, were not. I disagree with the review regarding the happier moments between Edward and Bella. To me, they shined in their earlier scenes. I much prefer Edward with a smile on his face. He lights up when he's with Bella and with his family. So yes, to me, their being apart contributed to the hardness and the torture on Edward. I just happen to hate that look on him. LOL! Completely agree with the supporting cast reviews though. Absolutely awesome! And ITA, they should NOT have replaced Rachelle. I hate that they did that. |
