Just got to the part where Lisbeth gets her revenge.
I'm guessing we haven't seen the last of Bjurman though. Ick!

Here's some film news:

I think that's a great cast. Much better than Tom Hanks as Professor Langdon. :P

Yeah, I saw the trailer for the swedish version. From what I saw, they kept the scenes of Salander's rapes.

I'm 300 pages into it and still going strong. It's really grabbed my attention now.
LOVE that Lisbeth tattooed Rapist across Bjurman's chest.

I'm about 400 pages in now...life just isn't letting me read for anything more than an hour at a time

I'm not surprised the Swedish movie version kept the rape scenes. I don't expect the US version to do the same. Somethings will change in order to appease the MPAA.

I was googling and came across some posting about missing maps. Apparently the original book included a map of the fictional Hedeby Island but neither the UK or US publishers included them. They would have been nice to have, as I know almost every time Blomkvist goes wandering around I end up confused about where he is. Reg Keeland, the guy who did the English translations was kind enough to provide English versions of the maps:

Only about 50 pages left in the book! Can't wait to read the next one already.

So much for working - just finished the book while sitting here at my desk.
Great read! Lots of disturbing parts in it though. Men are so incredibly brutal.

Lisbeth is my favorite character....definitely a bad-ass. Straight forward, blunt with a new mess attitude. Sometimes she's too far in one extreme for my tastes, but that's what makes her unique. I liked in the end how we got to see some vulnerability in her. Poor girl.

Blomkvist was great too. I think his reaction to what he went through in Hedestad is what truly made me sympathetic to him. As intelligent and hard nosed as he was as a reporter, he was still very much human. I particularly liked when Henrik told him that he chose between being a reporter and being human (in reference to his agreement to keep Martin a secret).

It wasn't hard to guess that Harriet was probably still around or that her family had done something horrific to her. But the journey to discovery was good. I liked the photo breakthrough. Very interesting.

My friend brought me some magazines to keep me occupied while at home & I have enjoyed reading about Daniel Craig playing Blomkvist & all the potentials for Lisbeth.

OK, I am not liking this book too much. I am going to push through & finish it, but I am struggling. It is just not to my taste & I do not like the pace of the book. I would probably be more interested & like it more if it moved quicker & wasn't so bogged down.

Finally finished this book, which I started before Rhett was born.

OK, well, I did not like this book too much. It was way too long, IMO. Just totally dragged on with uninteresting details. The murder-mystery was too sick & twisted for me. If I can barely read through something without being disgusted, that is not a good book to me. Oh well.
