SYNOPSIS

Landing a catch like Talmadge Evans III got Eloise "Weezie" Foley a jewel of a town house in Savannahs historic district. Divorcing Tat got her exited to the backyard carriage house, where she has launched a spite-fest with Tal's new fiancée, the elegant Caroline DeSantos.

An antiques picker, Weezie combs Savannah's steamy back alleys and garage sales for treasures when she's not dealing with her loopy relatives or her hunky ex-boyfriend. But an unauthorized sneak preview at a sale lands Weezie smack in the middle of magnolia-scented murder, mayhem . . . and more. Dirty deals simmer all around her -- just as her relationship with the hottest chef in town heats up and she finds out how delicious love can be the second time around.

I've already read this one. I can't remember the story all that much. I've read a few books from this author but then stopped - I got tired of her stories. Btw, this is the first book in a 3 book series. Book 2 (Savannah Breeze) is based on her friend and book 3 (Blue Christmas) is another Weezie story. I was barely able to finish book 2 and never bothered with book 3.

sigh. The person who suggested the book to me neglected to mention that is was the first in a series. I usually try shy away from series when it comes to BOTM. Kinda makes me wish I'd gone with my other choice.

Don't worry about it Kat. If we love it, then we'll read the rest. I also picked a trilogy for my BOTM. =)

Adorable story and for the most part I enjoyed Daniel and Weezie. BUT, I can't really get into Daniel. I love their scenes and his playfulness, but sometimes I think he never made it past the horny high school kid he's always been. Annoying! Tantrums, games....it got a little annoying in the end, but not enough for me to NOT like the book. I enjoyed it more than not.

I was thinking the same thing Mary. The story was cute and fluffy and very likable. But Daniel? He was a bit whiney and childish, especially since he was head chef at a restaurant. I wanted to throw things at him when he stomped off after Weezie told him she knew about his childhood. Seriously? She was bound to find out the truth no matter what.

Yep, his temper tantrums were a turn off. And the "dating the waitress so my boss will tell her best friend" was SOOOOOO juvenile. He had potential, but he kept acting like a very young teenager!

After Weezie was hit by her ex, I thought at least then he'd show a little more understanding. I thought the author missed an opportunity for a good reconciliation scene at that point.
