"All is for my lord"

Ok, I'm just going to start this up for future discussion if anyone's interested. Here, I'd personally like to talk about the best ways to collect money and experience, as well as the best combination of character's to chose from. I personally have a thing for playing a supportive role since I don't have a lot of great characters yet (or the skill to use 'em). I've been sticking myself to the Eng. classes, mainly the Geth Eng and specing Turret to restore shields as much as possible, or the Volus Eng and practically being a mini cover bubble, lol. I also like playing as the Talon Merc. (also in the Eng class of characters, and I think one of the new ones) because of their focus on trip mines and their 'melee' attack. Not gunna lie, Talon Merc's probably the first class I've played and gotten Gold in Melee kills. So the main question I'd like to ask, for anyone who does play Mass Effect 3 and does Multiplayer, what's your favorite character to play as from it? |

Okay, character classes, I'll start with the class I like the best in ME3, and that's the Engineer class. Specifically, I like the 'Talon Mercenary', 'Turian Saboteur', 'N7 Demolisher', and 'Geth Engineer'. There's more then just these classes of course, but I just want to point out the one's that I like because I like playing as them and, well, I can actually play them and I don't see the point in trying to explain what I don't know. Lets start with the Talon Merc., which I play as a 'melee expert'. I say it like that because he doesn't have a melee attack or any powers with a cool-down. Instead of the conventional melee punch or kick, his melee is replaced with a 'Omni-bow' that fires off in a spread shot manner or focused (based on hitting the melee key or holding it down) which can actually be modified with his Powers. To start tho, they get 3 arrow types. These are the Concussive Arrows, Armor-Piercing Arrows, and the default arrows from just doing a melee attack. The Concussive and Armor-Piercing arrows come into play whenever you activate the power to equip them, and you get 3 charges (3 melee attacks) with the upgraded arrow type. The Concussive arrows will basically put small little pulse charges on each arrow to when the arrows hit, they'll make small explosions wherever they hit, easily staggering a target (usually man-sized). When you're being swarmed with, say, Husk enemy's, you use the concussive arrows and you'll just make them fall over or take a few steps back while doing actual damage to them, but as far as actual use on anything else, not much help (take note tho, I only used them for a short time before promoting the engineer class and just avoiding them). Armor-Piercing arrows on the other hand are the main arrow type you'll be going for, trust me on that. You actually get a nice increase to damage from using these, as well as the option to add a bleed effect and adding another arrow for a total of 6. (by default you shoot out 5 arrows with your melee). Long story short anything that's big an hard to kill has 'Armor' as their HP, so put on some Armor-Piercing arrows and you've solved most of the problem there. That's enough about the arrows tho, lets talk about the 3rd power that they get called 'Cain Trip Mine'. It's just as it sounds, it's a mine with a trip-wire (in this case trip laser), Anything that crosses the line will set off the mine and deals a WHOLE lot of damage to anything in range, perfect for setting up a little gauntlet in a short pathway for things to cross through or to place on the fly to take care of high HP targets. You can upgrade the mines to do increased damage to Armored targets as well, so on top of you Armor-piercing arrows, you have these mines as well. As far as weapons for the Talon Merc., you're better off sticking with the shotgun group, since they have an attachment that increases Melee damage. since the melee damage is the omni-bow (which still counts as melee kills), you get a bit extra kick to your attacks, on top of having a high-damage close-range weapon for things the bow just can't handle. Any fast-acting shotgun will do, regardless of how heavy it is since that's not a factor with the Talon Merc. Since all of the powers he gets are Grenade based powers, there's no cool-down, just have to go to re-fill stations all over the map and you'll get more, as well as the passive ability that kicks in every min (or half-min if you select that upgrade). Now for staying alive, you'll do just fine ducking under cover and keeping a lot of space between you and your target(s), since the Omni-bow is a mid-to-long ranged 'melee' attack, you don't need to duck under cover too much unless you're trying to take down a anything like a Atlas or Scion that has a ranged attack. Of course any other time, just duck under cover and blast away with your shotgun against anything up close. and, if you want, pull along an assault rifle or pistol for those close-to-mid fights if you don't want to pull around a shotgun, purely personal preference there. With how long this is going, I think I'll just do multiple posts with one post per character. I wouldn't want to have my computer crash on me mid-typing of a, lets see. . . short book I would think, at this rate anyway, xD. So the next time I do this, I'm going to explain the next in line, and that's the 'Turian Saboteur'. |
