Number of Members: The three faction leaders, Davina, and Roush are currently active and looking for members.
Date Created: March 21, 2007

Description: The board is based around the three giants of "science" just before the turn of Modernity in the 1700's: Philosophy, Theology, and Law. It takes place in the world of Theaopolis (thee-ah-poh-lis), a pre-modern world with limited but available technology. Airships are non-existent, and oil and petroleum have yet to be discovered, though black powder is in heavy, if regulated, supply. Lavish cities have been built form the ground up, and academies and universities are a common sight all across the world. The rise of these three ways of though - the Just, the Wise, and the Faithful - are constantly coming into conflict though, and all is not well in the advancing age.

Most of the turmoil takes place on the Continent-City of Ardo-Ash. This is a massive community that spans nearly the entire continent of Ash, and includes room and acceptance for each of the three professions in turn. Commoners, Chemists, and Judges live side by side, though street-clashes between them are typical in some areas. The main influence of power in the world is the Judge Faction, based in Law and Reason. They are virtually the newest Faction to come along of the three (the other two being Religion and Philosophy), but are by far the most imposing and hold the greatest control over the common man. The Judges use the powers of The Word, as well as their numbers, discipline, and strength to rule over the land. The Law is uncontested in the eyes of a Judge.

On the other side rests the intellectuals; the Alchemists and the Philosophers. The Philosopher Faction, a culmination of Alchemists, Chemists, and Professors, being persecuted for their ways of thought and practice by the Judges and the Church, seek to prove the true form of existence of the world and open the eyes to those who go against its flow. These people are very subtle, and in some cases they are underground revolutionists, though many are old. The ways of the wise are being handed down by the professors in colleges, who usually secretly align themselves with the Philosopher Faction.

The Church is likely the oldest and most unobtrusively accepted by the common people. While the Judges teach people how to live in peace with society, sometime by force, the Church works to reinforce a positive atmosphere proclaiming that everyone can be saved and that all should turn their doubts and fears to God. The priesthood claims that the Judge's path strays from this by putting power into the people's hands and faith in something other than the divine. With a heavy heart, the priests and warrior-like Templars bring in the non-believers and heretical Alchemists and try to place them under the wing of the Metatron, leader of the Religious Faction. Heavily funded and well taken care of through the Miracles of God that priests can so easily call upon, the Faction has founded many churches across the world, and works for a day of enlightenment to swarm every city, and bring the people back under their control. It is thought that the Churches also have access to secret technologies that no other Faction does.

Factions: Memebers can choose to join the Philosopher Faction, Law Faction, or Religious Faction, and fight for their way of thought. While much of the battling is through political strife, some is actual conflict in the streets, and fights between a rouge alchemist and a templar are not uncommon. There are various classes and ranks under each group, and every Faction has its own system of leveling and skill gain. Choose carefully, because if you leave one later, they might consider you a traitor.

Creationist

Like DF, Conflict Trinity is an open ended and free roam RPG. It is not stat based, or even post count based, and character strength is determined by equipment and skills. A high post count might suggest rank, but not necessarily. A high post count will get you lost of skills and money (there is an implemented money and trade system for members and staff to enjoy).

Why Affiliate?: We currently have a link to Mythwood on our main page. Also, with the arduous and philosophical minded individuals on Mythwood we hope to attract quite a crowd for our conflict. It's a fresh RP board with ideas you won't find other on other RP forums.
